Silicon Valley Children's Fund & TeenForce is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing foster youth with the resources and support they need to succeed in life. The organization was founded with the belief that every child deserves a chance to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.
At Silicon Valley Children's Fund & TeenForce, we understand that foster youth face unique challenges when it comes to education and career opportunities. Many of these young people have experienced trauma and instability in their lives, which can make it difficult for them to focus on school or plan for their future. That's why we offer a range of programs and services designed specifically for foster youth, including scholarships, tutoring, internships, job placements, and personalized coaching.
One of our flagship programs is the Pivotal Coaching program. This program pairs each foster youth with their own personal coach who provides guidance and support as they navigate the challenges of growing up in the foster care system. Our coaches work closely with each young person to identify their strengths and interests, set goals for themselves, develop life skills such as budgeting and time management, explore career options through job shadowing opportunities or internships.
In addition to our coaching program, Silicon Valley Children's Fund & TeenForce also offers scholarships to help cover the cost of college tuition or vocational training programs. We believe that education is key to breaking cycles of poverty and creating brighter futures for our community’s most vulnerable children.
Our tutoring program provides one-on-one academic support from trained volunteers who help students improve their grades in subjects like math or English language arts (ELA). We also offer workshops on topics such as financial literacy so that students can learn how money works before they start earning it themselves!
For those who are ready to enter the workforce after high school graduation but may not have had access previously due lack experience or connections within industries where jobs are available - we provide job placement services through our partnership with local businesses across various sectors including technology companies like Google!
