The waitress took forever to even acknowledge I was there and get miso soup was terrible. I was so upset I could have good miso soup that night!!!

I've been here many times and have never been disappointed! Always the best and freshest sushi around! I've tried many different rolls and they have all been great! Sitting at the sushi bar is great because the chefs give you a complementary special salad, sushi, and dessert! Cannot say enough good things about this place. If you want sushi don't go anywhere else in Athens!

Very good sushi, has a large menu of not just sushi. A little cramped on the inside but nothing terrible. Decent prices and portion size.

Staff are a little slow and aren't well educated on what they serve. Sushi is good quality but a little pricey for Athens. A few tweaks to staff training and a little lower pricing and they'd be 5 star!!

Packed and ate at the bar where the service was excellent and the food was it's usually level if scrumptiousness! My mouth kept saying more, more, more....

Low-key vibe and great sushi. The menu is reasonably priced, the staff is on their game, and the food comes out very fast. Parking is a bit of a pain, but that's to be expected in downtown Athens. I recommend eating outside so you can see what's going on at Sister Louisa's and get a sense of the quality of the bands playing at the Caledonia Lounge.

Fantastic sushi. Bar is a little lacking, tried to order several different wines only to be told they didn't have them. Oh well. Sat at the bar for food so we didn't have to wait. Prices are pretty reasonable for sushi although the special rolls are a bit on the higher side.

Sooooo much yum! We got the Classic City Roll and opted to switch the shrimp topping to a red snapper topping Definitely the right choice! The Hawaiian Chicken was delicious as always! I'm looking forward to lunch tomorrow with my left overs! Come here for a wonderful meal!

One of the best places in Athens to get sushi. You can rent a karaoke room which makes for a great experience. They have great service and a good atmosphere. The J.J fire roll is one of the best rolls I have ever had!

Good quality food and value! The service was also prompt and friendly even though they were busy!

We were in the karaoke room. Water with no ice. Steak was dry. Plastic forks. Even portions were small. Not impressed.

This place is great! I tend to go here for date nights. Do NOT be afraid to try the chef's special roll. They will whip you something up on the fly and it's always been amazing everytime they have made me something.

MOST HORRIBLE SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I have been here several times (after the first all against my will) but the staff is truly incompetent. I swear they train their service in their signature karaoke rooms which they claim can accommodate 25 people but we brought 14 and half of us did not get our main courses. They claim to have lost our orders but then tell us immediatwly that we have to leave within the next two minutes for our reservation. AND THEN THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO CHARGE US FOR THE FOOD AND DRINKS WE NEVER GOT (or got an hour after ordering and incessant pestering). I have never experienced less professionalism in an establishment, SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW. I have given this place many chances and NEVER HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT if you plan to have even an ounce of a good experience.

Ate here twice while visiting UGA campus. Located in college town very close to UGA campus, hotels, etc. Sat at the sushi bar both nights (had sushi, rolls, edamame - everything excellent). Ordered the Georgia roll - excellent - both nights. Ordered nigiri both nights - fresh and excellent. Sushi chefs were very nice to us and gave us free samples throughout the evening - all excellent. Wine by the glass was very good - and inexpensive. Dessert both nights - offered free - was a deep fried oreo (you must have this). Atmosphere was lively, not too loud and service was very attentive and pleasant. Will go again on future visits to Athens.

One of our most favorite places to eat when we come to Athens!!! Great food and the service is off the chain great!!! Definitely check it out!!! You will love it!!!

2nd trip was just as good. Both trips we have had the chef special. We had a different chef each trip. Both did a fantastic good. Walking out food drunk again.

This place is unquestionably one of the most attractive restaurants in the region. Whenever I come to this place I am exceedingly glad. They keep their high standard service and the highest level of food they serve. You always win with this place. Warmly recommended.

The food was AMAZING! Great customer service and magnificent prices . The California Roll . UGA Roll . And fried rice awesome . We stayed for 4 days and went to this place several times!

Really good hibachi food and large portions. Pretty pricy for not having the hibachi experience and just the food. However, their food is really good and you never leave not excessively full. I m not a fan of sushi, but a lot of my friends that I have gone with love their sushi.

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this delicious restaurant. Well it was a pleasant evening and the place was certainly the reason for that fruitful evening. The stuff helped in a very nice manner, the cooking was great and my guests were very overjoyed. We shall absolutely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Had a graduation party there and it was horrible! The rooms are supper small, so don't expect to be real comfortable! The service sucked! They didn't get the drinks and meals on the right checks. It was very unorganized! The calimary tenticals were over cooked and the rest was under cooked and it was cold! The California roll was weird tasting! Hope I don't get sick! If you like poor service and half ass food then this is your place! I would not waste my time as you can get better Japanese at other places. Maybe it was just a bad one time, but won't waste my time again.

Karaoke was fun. The only hangup was that most things were in Korean. However, the explanation was clear.

The food is good but I was afraid to eat it because the place is so dirty. The bathrooms are disgusting, the spatter on the walls and barrier glass is so gross - there s no way it s been cleaned maybe ever. I took a picture coming out of the women s restroom of a freezer that is in view from the hallway. It has so much splatter from lord knows what and it s turned black. How does a sushi restaurant pass inspections in this condition?

They have really fresh sushi and for pretty good prices. The staff is friendly and nice and the atmosphere is good. You can go upstairs and sing karaoke if you want which is cool! It's a good place and my friends and I go here regularly for sushi nights!

I've eaten at Shokitini several times and tried out several different sushi options, and even the steak, and honestly- it's average for a Japanese place, especially at the prices some things have. It's usually pretty good, but not anything outstanding or Must Have downtown Athens fare.

Always tasty and they have karoke rooms available upstairs for a fee. Very fun for parties

Karaoke remote controls are in Korean without translation. With minimal effort the experience could be improved. The song catalog is ordered by song titles, not artist. Personal Jesus is not the original Depeche Mode or Johnny Cash cover, but the Marilyn Manson cover.

We went on a busy night, so the wait was long and the service was slow. Nevertheless, the service came with a big smile. The sushi could was not the best I've had. Nice atmosphere. I'd go back again.

Sushi is great! Strange little diner/bar broadcasting sports on the main wall. Wait staff - excellent, well versed on the different types of sushi. Interesting purple drink, kind of glamorous...

Sushi is good, but the teriyaki chicken was just okay and overpriced. The karaoke is a lot of fun though!

I eat at Shokitini about once a week, and it NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! Always keep in mind that this place is NOT a fast food restaurant; It also isn't a one-star restaurant-- the food is well-preserved and served by very friendly staff, who are eager to earn the tip you are about to reward them with... After the first bite, you will be hooked....

First off, the sushi was very tasty. But I think customer service says a lot about a place. When placing an order over the phone, I asked the waitress what came in one of the rolls. With a huffy voice she responded, "Doesn't it say on our menu?". I explained that I didn't see the description, to which her reply was, "Ugh, everyone else can see it. Anyway, here's what's in the roll". A little peeved, I shrugged it off. Upon arrival, we picked up the food and checked it when we got in the car. We weren't given chopsticks (not a big deal) so we walked back in to ask for some. With an attitude from hell, she responded "I put them in the bag, you must not have looked properly. I wouldn't just not give them to you, are you sure you looked?". Who lies about chopsticks?? lol -- Maybe she was having a rough day, but her attitude was super unprofessional.

Best tasting sushi in Athens. Great atmosphere and big projector on wall to watch games. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.

We've been here several times, most recent last night & last week! We REALLY like our experience here & the food is fabulous.

Our waitress Dory was amazing too! She's just friendly enough, but SUPER professional & knowledgeable. We ALWAYS have a phenomenal experience with the sushi chef Rex. He is AMAZING!!! Sit at the sushi bar in front of Rex, and Oh my, you will NOT be disappointed. He makes the most amazing chef s special for my sweet husband to take care of his love of spicy. We never want to miss him when we visit.

My favorite things here are the Sumo roll, and the GA peach martini. This is a perfect date night, and we really just like everything here. They are doing a phenomenal job. Highly recommend Shokitini & their team!

Shokitini has a great selection of drinks and sushi. The song selection for karaoke leaves a bit to be desired but it's a really fun place.
