This is the most disgusting Marriott owned property I have ever stayed out. Rooms are musty smelling and very dated front desk staff is rude they treat you like cattle and act like they are doing you a favor having your room ready at check in time. Karen at front desk lives up to her name. Much better hotels in the area then this one I would stay at the motel 6 before this place. Skip this trip

I wish I could give it a zero! We were told we would have adjoining rooms. We don t! The balcony is so small and your head has to be cranked to even see a glimpse of the water. The pool is small and no entertainment or even music. No microwave in room. We have friends that live nearby can t even get them a guest parking spot or take them to the pool. I have stayed everywhere down here for much less money and had a much better time. I won t be back!
Don't stay here if you have the option. Bathroom the size of a cruise ships. MOLD in the bathroom. Room 701. Elite member, room not ready upon arrival at 7pm. Smells like a high school cafeteria. Staff was unhelpful and rude, gave wrong information, as restaurantwas supposed to be open at 630, get there, lady says open at 7. Plastic hangers in the closet. Stay at the real Marriott across the street. And for the price, I want my money back, definitely not worth the money
My family of 4 stayed here. The best thing about the resort is the private beach and pool area. The private beach is beautiful and you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs for the day. The beach is clean and white sands covered in shells. It is beautiful. It is a long walk out to the beach but during the day, there is a golf cart to take you to and from - and barely a wait for this. There is plenty of places to sit and lounge around the pool - but people do start staking out their spot early in the morning. If you bring kids, there is plenty for them to do on the beach in the way of volleyballs and soccer balls and rackets. Free of charge. The pool area is clean and well-maintained. I see several reviews saying the resort is out-dated, I am not sure I agree with that. I felt like it was clean and pretty. The room was a bit on the small side, but we had an amazing view with a balcony and that made up for the small size in my opinion. My biggest complaint and what you should consider when staying here is the food options were minimal and that became an issue. It appears there are 3 restaurants, but only 2 were open and we were here during Spring break so they were busy. I thought the breakfast and dinner options were fine, but the lunch options that they had for kids were not great. As with any hotel, they charge a lot for very average food. There are other places close by, but you definitely have to plan ahead during a busy time or you will be waiting forever or not be able to get in at all. I found all the staff to be friendly and overall I would stay here again. If you are looking for beach and pool time, I don't think you could do much better or more convenient. Absolutely beautiful beach that you can walk right out of the hotel too that is not very crowded. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle of downtown Clearwater Beach, you will want to pick a hotel over the bridge already right there.
We started our vacation week at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. This place is geared toward families & they certainly had a resort full of families... that worked well with our 9 y.o. grandson. We enjoyed the beach volleyball as a different for of activity for our family. While the pool was a bit small for the resort size, the huge beach more than makes up for that minor point. We always had room to get into the pool, when needed. The other good benefit was the resort was full of kids of all ages, so there were so many other kids to meet & play with... we really enjoyed our stay at Sheraton Sand Key Resort!
Clean and well maintained rooms and common areas. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Ample parking...can be a good walk from parking lot. The restaurants all serve great food and drinks. There are 4 elevators ...great for social distancing. Only one pool and hot tub, which is not very large ...but the beautiful beach is my choice. One of the best beaches in Florida. Its a good walk to the beach..but they will shuttle you there. The rooms are updated and modern, with safes in closets. Having a great stay...many safety protocols in place.
Pros: Friendly staff! Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Due to Covid housekeeping is reduced to every 3 days. I had to request sooner and they were fine with that. Cons: Pool is way undersized for the facility. It was at max capacity most of the time we were there. It is NOT on the beach. Yes, it is on the same side as the ocean/beach and there is not a road or building between but it is A LONG WALK! This was our biggest surprise/annoyance.
We had an amazing stay! The hotel was Was beautiful. Front desk was friendly and addressed any of our needs. While they wouldn t have regular housekeeping due to COVID, they still went out of their way to make the stay great. Pool area, beach and restaurants were all awesome. Definitely will return
This is our second time here. Check in staff was very friendly and also the staff at Rusty s Bistro was super nice. Otherwise staff has not been friendly at all. Entering into our room, there was ketchup or jelly ? smeared on outside of door and hairs in the bathtub. The sink near the bathroom area was leaking water when turned on. We had to keep a towel there to wipe up water. Outside when we set our lounge chairs up we were told we could not use an umbrella for shade. They are not for general use, only if needed for medical reasons. Plenty of pool area and chairs but hardly any areas for shade. Empty cups laying in grass areas, seems like the area doesn t get cleaned up very well. And lastly the ground staff waited to treat, mow and weed whack lawn at 10:00 am when everyone is already outside in the sun. Most inconvenient when people are already out. We will be returning to our usual spot at the Marriott in Hollywood Beach.
