A wonderful festival. The biggest names in documentaries turn up, past guests include Michael Moore, David Attenborough, Louise Theroux, and Asif Kapadia. Often the film makers enjoy giving friendly and relaxed Q&A's after. It's reasonable priced for passes or one off tickets and will expose anyone to a new world they never knew existed or go deeper into the ones they know.
Attended Doc/fest for the first time this year (2019) with a doclovers wristband, great value for money over the weekend where I saw a number of amazing documentaries, some of which were UK premieres. Great opportunities to get involved in panels, ask directors, producers, and documentary participants questions, network with others in the industry, and discover innovative new technology. Give it a go, you won't regret it!
The first time I participated, I was very professional, the subject matter was very diverse, and the volunteers were very enthusiastic. I hope that there will be such a large-scale documentary festival in the country.
