Awesome, incredible place. Never been to such a spectacular aquarium. Truly amazing place. Lived it.
Awesome, incredible place. Never been to such a spectacular aquarium. Truly amazing place. Lived it.
Ridiculous mismanagement left hundreds of people including pregnant women and babies sitting on the steps for 3 hours in 92 degree weather with 55% humidity. We'll never go back.
Cool fish, but it has always been very crowded when I go.
Lots of beautiful and extraordinary aquatic animals!
Great experience for both adults and kids. The entrance fee is a little pricey for non-residents...$40/adult. Many things are in desperate need of updating. The dolphin/beluga whale show was the best part.
Love this place. We just became members. We find mornings are the best to visit.
The Shedd does not disappoint. The belugas appear well taken care of, though I struggle seeing any such animals in captivity. Ultimately, I've decided that the educational opportunity afforded to city dwellers outweighs those concerns, but just barely. And the Shedd seems to do an excellent job with the education component.
Pretty much a must-see for anyone traveling to Chicago. It's amazing how much it has grown. Check it out!
Amazing place for kids to enjoy and connect with aquatic animals...
This place is nice, however I would never recommend going on a Friday or Saterday or Thursday it was shoulder to shoulder and I didn t even get within 2 feet of an exhibit. Totally not worth the money or then long line just to stand next to people in the heat and stench whilst not being able to even get close to seeing anything
Absolutely a marvelous place! Beauty beyond belief! However, the only downside issue was that there must have been over a hundred strollers, here and there, that was blocking our view. Oddly, half of the strollers where empty, because the parents where holding the children so they could get a better look. Go figure!
Alot of tanks and 2 lower levels with dolphins beluga whales otters seals there is a stingrays touch but just in the summer. Not much parking and runs $25/30 but worth the visit
I don't condone fish prisons but this place is Great!!!
A little crowded but the pricing has gotten better.
It's nice to see the fish. Love the rotunda aquarium.
amazing experience had a lot of fun with my wife and its free w/ link card
Love all the animals and exhibits. It's a great place to bring the kidds on any days. I recommend planning your visit ahead of time to save time when you get here. Reserve the events you want to see right away. They get sold out quickly.
A bit pricey but a good place to see a lot different aquatic animals. Good for kids.
Great variety of marine life, reptiles, birds and insects.
Eh. Extremely high priced for mediocre entertainment. Don't buy the VIP. You don't get much extra. Only the dolphin show. Parking is $25. Lots of walking. Very packed. Felt more like a zoo.
Definitely a premier aquarium. Many awesome and well maintained exhibits. The viewing areas where large and open. Accommodating large group and it doesn't feel cramped. The campus around the building is very pretty and well maintained. The views of the city are pretty amazing too. Definitely worth the visit if in the city.
Very large and exciting aquarium that has endless animals and sections to see. There is food and other conveniences as well.
Went a few weeks ago on a Sunday. Got in pretty quick, but we got there as soon as they opened. Over all it was fun. Would get 5 stars but the lady taking orders in the coffee shop was rude and didn't make our coffee drinks right. And couldn't see much of the aquariums in the main part because of people standing and talking to where we couldn't see anything. Hopefully we can come back on a week day when its not so busy and not as many people.
All places can't please you 100%. If you look the parking and the cost of the Shedd it is always so worth it. The memories are priceless. Being a member is awesome which I did in the past. Free days for residents are a blessing. Yes they have dolphins and a few belugas whales. It's bitter sweet. Yes they should be in the wild. At the same time, what beautiful beings to see. All the workers I have ever talked with love their job. Great place for world travelers, familes and seniors. You, at least have to visit once in your life.
You have to go once in your life. It is truly beautiful.
First time here and it's such Shedd Aquarium place! Boyfriend wanted to do a photoshoot so we went here. It looked like they were starting to set up for halloween cause there was a fake cemetery and an "abandoned house thing". We were able to use their props, so that was cool. You'll be kind of hiking if you decide to venture around. BUT it's an easy hike
A unique collection of aquatic life. The aquarium is a little small so it won't take that long to see everything. It will probably take about an hour to see the whole aquarium and longer if you see some shows. It s a place for families to visit and the kids will enjoy it. It's not as good as some other aquariums like the one in Georgia, but it s still a nice visit.
A beautiful place to see different species oh fishes and mammals. This huge aquarium will dd definitely attractive for kids. The 4D show is also done really well.
What s not to love about the Shedd Aquarium. The entrance steps make you feel like Rocky, the aquatic life is fantastic, and the views are amazing. Unfortunately it s in Chicago and I m not. My family and I recently visited and experienced many of the attractions they have to offer. Unfortunately we were a weekend to early for the interactive stingray exhibit. The staff here is friendly, the animals are great, and the location is right off of the magnificent mile. All in all it is worth the trip!
Placed in a scenic and well kept part of Chicago. The variety on exhibit was satisfactory and enjoyable to look at. The building is well maintained, and the staff friendly.
We had an awesome visit My two year old loved it we also took out newborn! Its was something new and very exciting!
This place is amazing! So many underwater creatures and cool exhibits! We loved the dolphins and belugas!
Beautiful staff very helpful. Very peaceful at the Shedd
Wonderfull.Spent whole day and felt energetic by the end of the day .Very rejoicing Dolphin SHow.Awestruck Beluga Whale .Not So good 4D Shark.Fantastic Stingray touch.Awesome Place over all.
Great place to visit.Make sure you see the dolphins
Great experience here and very child friendly. We went on an IL resident free day and it was understandably busy with lots of families with strollers and small children. The aquarium was not hard to navigate with our stroller but there were a few exhibits that required is to take the elevator and the elevator lines were a bit long. The sea otters and whales were our favorite!
This will always be my favorite place to relax. The atmosphere great is just the peace and serenity looking at the fish and other wild life as well gotta love it
An amazing place where you can learn so much about marine animals. Suitable for all ages
The animals and exhibits are great; unfortunately, actually trying to see them is terrible. We went on a Saturday and it was wall-to-wall people. It was hot, hard to move, and hard to get any good views. I definitely recommend that you purchase tickets ahead of time because the line is about 1/4 mile long to get in otherwise.
I grew up going here when I lived in Warsaw, Indiana and it is very educational. I love all of the creatures there and I really think that going to Shedd Aquarium was beneficial for the social aspect of my character and who I am today, I recommend this place to all of the families with kids under the age of 12. This place rocks!!!!!
Very nice place with lots of different sea animals to see. Our favourites were beluga whales, sea turtle, dolphin show and sharks. When visiting remember to reserve tickets to water show. This is included in admission, but needs to be reserved separately.
I attended the Wednesday Jazz at the Shedd June 26th for the first time. I throughly enjoyed the event although snacks I thought were over priced. There was a group called The Ken Davis Project that I thought was exceptional. It is my hope they will be performing again on a regular bases.
Beautiful aquariums, an informative show included in the admission price, good food and a spectacular view if the Chicago skyline.
Great aquarium with nice staff. If you re going to multiple museums/sightseeing spots, you should get the CityPass because the aquarium is included and you don t have to wait in the general admission line. My favorite was the live show with their beluga whales and dolphins! They also have a new beluga calf who was just born in early July.
It is a neat aquarium and they have several good displays. My big issue is with the price. $160 to take myself and 3 kids seems a bit excessive. It wasn't that great...
The 4D movie Sharks is a must see. Well worth the $5. Gotta love the free days also. Check online for dates.
Nice awuarium near lake michigan shore in Chicago downtown
If you coming on a holiday buy the tickets online which will save you a lot of waiting time... Inside is perfect and great for kids
Its s great aquarium! Will come back again sometime.
Great place to take the kid's and adults and everyone that want's to have a great water experience. Lots of different fish and sharks. Awesome place to visit. Much improve since i was a young kid in grammer school.
Must-see attraction of Chicago! I've been coming here since I was little and it's always been incredibly fun and engaging regardless of my age. The staff is so friendly and happy to talk about all the animals! Such a great variety of aquatic life and a perfect location right on the lake!
Too many people not worth the price barely worth the visit. Staff is not friendly, and the entire place is not organized.
If you are into fish (or have kids with you) the Shedd is an absolute stop while in the city.
Right off of Lake Michigan and Grand Park is this spot where you will feel oh so sinful eating Sushi (and let's be honest it would smell a little too fishy there to want to) as once you enter you will be surrounded by water and fish (and other creatures of the sea!)
Depending when you go (weekends/etc) you will have to expect a crowd and a slew of young-ins but that's really the point. Kids love Aquariums and watching fish swim around and this is the perfect place to see it all!
It can be a little pricey depending WHICH tickets you get but let's all be honest if you are treating your own kids you probably don't care as much. My wife and I are absolutely looking forward to taking our son here when he's a little older.
My favorite thing we did in Chicago. The displays are gorgeous. Went to one of the shows with dolphins, and it was excellent. They are just part of the general admission. We had a grilled cheese and a pretzel at one of the cafes, and they were surprisingly good. It seems like some of the animals there were ones they saved, which was touching. Their trainers also save and train dogs too.
A great place to visit in Chicago, they actually have pretty good snacks in the cafe downstairs too. You can sit and watch the belugas swim by while eating soft pretzels. I love this place, especially on the free days. Great customer service even when they are very busy.
Traveled from Indiana. Especially to see the dolphin show with my wife. Asked about it at ticketing. Was told it comes with the ticket. Wasn't told there was another kiosk at which we had to obtain a pass for it. Couldn't watch the show. Poor staffing.
Amazing! We loved the stingrays, sharks, dolphins, pinguins, and learning about also many beautiful species from different parts of the world
The place its amazing my kid love it my wife and also it was a beautiful and educational experience
Great location. Parking is expensive. Don't miss the dolphin show.
The Shedd does a great job of appealing to all ages. No matter if you're a kid or a grown-up, you're sure to have fun. Check out the membership. Totally worth it. Jazzin at the Shedd is a must!
Packed beyond belief, got city pass that said you would get front of the line treatment but found out that if you have city pass you will be in the longest lines and people can walk up and just buy a ticket much much faster.
The great news is if you come to visit you will pay double the price if a Chicago resident ,it's right on the price list on the wall, way to make visitors feel welcome!
Great place for the family. Not. To bad on pricing and the experience is great. The different habitats displayed. But the saddest and most heart breaking exhibit is the penguins. Its a must see.
I took a group of Girl Scouts here, and they absolutely loved it! I think they could have stayed here all day!
One of the best aquariums out there! Make sure you check out the live show included with your ticket!
Really good aquarium, a lot to see and not just sea life. They had a monkey and 4D movies . I highly recommend getting the city pass if you like to visit a few museums and attraction around the Chicago are. Plus you get the fast track line for all of them :)
Fun little activity, but too many additional charges for shows (including the dolphins). Facility was clean, even with a full house.
Great place for entertainment and can learn a lot about aquatic animals
Kids love this place.
Dolphin performance is the best to see.
I would love if they give better discounts than what it is now to schools and colleges students
Thankyou
Chaitanya varma
Great day to come out and see some critters awesome family rooms for the kids to play and Learn
The aquarium was good, but if that was social distanced Shedd, I'd hate to see regular attendance. The place was very crowded for their being timed entry. They had lots of signs promoting social distancing and plenty of hand sanitizer, but very very limited staff working so enforcement was an issue.
Great place to spend the day. Best part is probably the dolphin show. Watch the food places. The one we went to was expensive.
Beautiful so much Ive never seennor knew about the sea world.Awesome.
Kid friendly, aquatic learning, and a mix of old museum and contemporary design. The Shedd Aquarium has been around for a long time, but it has been updated in places to keep with the times. Only when you look closely at the actual building do you really see that this building has been around since 1929!
A bit on the pricy side, but a great experience over all!
Attended Jazzin at the Shedd and loved it! Will be doing it again
Best aquarium we have visited in many trips to several cities
Best aquarium I've ever been to. I was there for the whole day and saw maybe 2/3 of the offerings. Definitely pay extra for the penguin experience. You get to pet one and learn a ton.
Awesome place to visit! Would like more with my membership, but still a place fool of food for the eyes and brain!
Absolutely incredible and I was really happy how many things are included in the general admission. It seems that these days each thing is a different cost, but there we were able to purchase online, walk in, and just enjoy the experience.
The habitats are beautifully made and its easy to navigate yourself between the exhibits.
This is a great experience! The show's are informative and fun.
Come on out wednesday jazz a view drinks and some awesome wildlife!!!
