Horrible, that's all I can say, would not recommend this facility to anyone. They did nothing but to bringb the residents to there meals and ship them back to the room. My mom didn't get a shower for 5 days after we were asked to give her one every 2 days. Didn't have her medicine, never said there were any type of events going on. Call button on for more than 45 minutes. I would not recommend this facility to anyone!

I have been working at Sheboygan Senior Community for one year now. I can say with confidence that this management team is the best in the business. We have a strong DON presence, an Executive Director who values what his employees have to say, and a culture that allows significant personal growth. Every department works as a team - from nursing to dietary to social services to life enrichment and everything in between. It is evident that staff members feel appreciated. One look around any floor and you hear laughter, you feel love and you see compassionate people caring for Sheboygan's elderly. Working at SSC has been such a phenomenal experience and I look forward to continue growing with this organization. Keep up the fantastic work - and congratulations on the recent win of the Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce's Services Category of the Year - Nonprofit. Well earned!
If I could leave no stars, I would. Do not send your loved ones to this facility.
My father had two hip dislocations at this place. One of which they refused to x-ray when he pleaded with the staff that it had occurred. Instead they forced him to walk on it and do physical therapy while ignoring his cries for help. For three days!!!!
In his month there, he lost one tooth and broke another. They didnt brush his teeth or help him to for three weeks. He went two weeks without being bathed. He developed horrific bed sores.
His condition after one month deteriorated vastly. I cannot stress enough...if you care about your loved ones, keep them away from the Sheboygan Senior Community Center.
I have been working at this facility for 2 years now. I have been here since I have become a nurse. SSC is a GREAT place to work. Everyone works together as a team to provide best quality care for those who reside at SSC. Other reasons to love SSC:
1. We have great management, that is supportive, and compassionate and caring about our staff and residents.
2. Everyone works as a team
3. We treat residents with the care and compassion as we would with our own loved ones and provide quality care.
4. SSC environment makes everyone as comfortable as possible and feels like home.
5. Not only do we have amazing assisted living and long term care, we have a great rehab team. When someone comes to rehab at our facility, many departments are involved. We have social services, our therapy department, rehab coordinator, nurses, as well as nursing assistants who are involved in caring for those who stay at our amazing facility. The family and residents are also very involved with establishing goals and take part in their own care.
6. And let's not forget about the great food and the friendly environmental specialists who keep our facility neat and tidy!
I would never put any of my family into this facility. The very little time my grandmother was in this facility I can say the staff was very disrespectful and they were not attentive to any of the people who were in the wing she was in. Overall I was extremely disappointed on how this facility was ran. If I could this place would get no stars.
My favorite thing about SSC is that resident care is so important to everyone who works their. From nurses, to cnas, to housekeepers and management everyone first priority is our residents. I can't count the number of times I have see staff members go above and beyond to make sure our residents are happy and comfortable. Not only is staff concerned about residents but they care about each other, supporting one another and celebrating successes. SSC is more than just a place to work, it's a place that makes a difference in all the lives it touches.
Great place to work! Staff is awesome and we believe in true team work! I would refer my family here in a heart beat! We have great social workers and upper management to help with family concerns and questions as well as the residents cares and needs! No facility is perfect however we here at sheboygan senior community try our hardest to problem solve for the best possible care.
