Dugs and mugs the mugs walk home and the dugs go hame in a van
50 50 or is that the odds lol. Staff are brilliant. I would recommend to everyone.
it was great till they ran our of power for the feeking hare.
My first visit to shawfield on Friday 22/11/19 in quite some time.We used to go quite regular many many moons ago.I would think this is the first time I have been back in about 8 years....oh how the mighty have fallen! No tote bar upstairs near finish line, no snack bar trackside, almost no dogs, and most worrying no crowd.Everyone is now housed upstairs in what used to be for functions,Xmas parties etc It looks lovely but is quite a bit disconnected from trackside and quite difficult to see the finish post. Its very nice inside, well maintained, heated and comfortable.Only one tote window (maybe it's never busy anymore?) and a bar.Hopefully you will get a few winners are the bar prices are STEEP, Wetherspoons it is not! Also a distinct lack of actual racing, only 8 races and all traps are not in use.One of our races only had 3 dogs running! Not sure how this place can survive, when we were there including our party of 4 there were a total of 14 people in the bar and trackside was like a ghost town.I get the feeling that this place only still opens so the bookies can include it on their online apps.We had a great time but it's really sad to see Shawfield so devoid of life, human or canine
Chips with curry sauce was not good went in bin very disappointed with this over all though had a good night
Great night out watching the dogs run. First time there easy to place bets staff helpfull.
Dead dogs get stored in freezers here. Would not recommend.
Great night out. Even better when the summer nights come in. The dogs are the stars. !!
Had agreat night there and wee all got a small win each x
Had our Christmas night out here was a great night. The food was not to bad but great value for the price. Shame I couldn't say the same for my bets
Love this place especially when the derby is on . been going for a long time . just a bit understaffed at times .
Staff were rude and unhelpful mistake after mistake made with meals
Good evening out for meal great food dog race's in function suite. And with children, cheap also
This is a great night out for both young and old and a great venue for a family night. Kids are also welcome. There is an outdoor area to watch the racing and to bet on your favourites along with an indoor area, bar and restaurant to beat the cold weather. Highly recommended!!
first two races were declared null and void when I complained to the bar staff it was a shrug of the shoulders nothing to do with me mate, asked to see the management, after fifteen minutes waiting decided to leave, over priced beers into the bargain definitely won't be back
The bar had no heating i was so cold i couldn't put a bet on or have a drink and ended up sneaking in to trap 5 and entering the second race to heat myself up i finished last unfortunately
A great place to pick up lady of the night and can also pick up powder in car park
Going downhill. Only 1 bar open large queue waiting to be served
Fitba team like clyde should play here, place is a dump and fixed
Ok for a night oot but the grub is absouletly rotten.
Great night out , been many times , so exciting and colourful . I wish it was on Wed or Thursday instead of a Friday though , then I could go twice a week
Had a wonderful night at shawfield dogs
Loved it
Was there on saturday great night but 45 minute wait at bar was abit of a joke missed 3 races think the staff need to brush up on serving quicker instead of gabbing apart from that all good
Great atmosphere lovely area and good place for betting on dogs
Came down to Glasgow for some weekend xmas shopping,it was brill, that we would do something different on the Saturday night so we went along to the dog racing at Shawfields What a run down place, got there at just after 7pm, spoke to waitress and asked about a table within the restaurant, she asked another waitress who informed me that she would have to check with the chef to see if they had enough food, she came back and said she was sorry but they didn't have enough food so no table was offered, the racing was fab but everything else about the stadium was rubbish, if you are thinking about ever going to the Shawfields dogs Don't !!!!!!!!!!!!
Great night out for anyone a bit rough but staff are 5 star
First ever visit to Shawfield for dog racing. The food in the restaurant is basic and tasty, drinks are not too pricey. The surroundings are a bit tacky, but this is to be expected for a minority sport. We limited our gambling to amongst ourselves at the table. Fun night out with family, would probably do it again. One downside, animal protesters were outside protesting about the treatment of the dogs.
Not been here for a few years now but it's a bit run down now. Still enjoyed my night and also got a couple of winners. Bar area was good and service was quick they also do meals. Best prices for a bet is the bookies at the track side.
Family nite ouy. Table not ready (no biggie) number of drinks not available - not the 3nd of the world. Food a different story. Portions were tiny. Soup and bread roll for starter eh no we all got ONE slice of a baggette even the kids asked for more and the basket came with 2 extra slices absolutely shicked! Mains dry tasteless couldnt eat. Total wast of money. Table servicer (manageress) rude and slow orders wrong. Had to go bar ourselves. Spent a lot of money and felt ripped off.
No draft beer and to few staff on bars and resturant
One off night for something different. Food available
Dog racing, along with Bull fights, should really be a thing of the past.
Dirty, dingy, outdated. Food was on a par with a greasy burger van, drinks outrageously overpriced. Place was dead and those that were there seemed to be the dregs of society. "Great night out", I don't think so. Would never go back or recommend.
Great venue good staff and a Friday nights entertainment - "the hare's running"
Been up there a few times over the years a good night is a Friday all the family go there great vibe to the place you can watch the dogs and have somesthings to eat and drink
Was a regular visitor here over 10 years ago. First time since and my goodness what a poor shadow of its old self it was. Outside area and facilities practically non-existent. Although cafe at far end open, none of the bars were and stands were empty. Ended up in upstairs lounge for a heat and bar and tote had lengthy queues. Sadly, don't think I'll venture back.
Brilliant place, highly recommended for parties!!!!
Great night if you are up for a cheap and cheerful fun. It's is a simple dog track with shall we say basic facilities. But the dogs and a little flutter are the main attraction. I would say the staff are great, good banter and more than happy to help.
Excellent fun with really friendly staff. A bit run down but a good night out.
A cesspit, serving as a gathering point for the bottom feeders of society, who enjoy watching animals suffer abuse for their entertainment. Would not recommend.
Hmmmm. Bit dingey and run down. There is a bar, there are toilets, neither are good. If you're into dog racing (perhaps soul search) then it'll be ok and an alright night out. If not and are going for the "experience", probably don't.
Shawfeildstadium is a place where ugoplace bets on dog races and u can have a meal and drinks while he betting onthedogs
Group of 26 wheelchair had to be lifted 3 flights.so much for all disabled accessible areas.
Food disgusting soup watery fish was a tadpole, ice cream and snowball .
Staff where rude and abrupt drinks overpriced.
Sent an email and was told oh the toilets are usually clean .
Omg absolutely disgusting and won't ever be back.
Grt nite, actually won couple races, bring it on...
