Fantastic great setting excellent staff . From when we arrived at Shanti we were at home . We were worried that the hotel is in the south but good weather . After Ambre this felt like heaven

We were very pleased that we booked our honeymoon stay with Shanti Maurice.

From the minute we stepped into the resort we were met with incredibly professional and friendly staff, who provided the highest level of hospitality.

Everything from the small details (answering requests promptly) to leaving a bottle of bubbly in our suite on arrival, with a free upgrade to a better suite - we had a truly luxurious experience and left our holiday very relaxed and with smiles on our faces.

It is important to note that the location is the definition of tropical, vast amounts of lush vegetation, palm trees and even wildlife on-site! However, we did note that some people did moan about mosquitoes, in all honesty, it s to be expected and the resort had a well-stocked shop with mosquito repellant if you need it. Despite any insect issues, you feel like you are living in the middle of a (maintained!) rainforest, it s really amazing.

The beach is imacculate, golden sand, clean (even stray rocks, branches and seaweed are swept away by the staff daily!) there are free (non-motorised) watersports: snorkelling, paddle boarding and canoeing.

There is much more to say but finally one of the best aspects of the resort is the food. Everything is made to a very high standard and tastes delicious, whether eaten a-la carte or from the buffet. My husband and I are definitely foodies, so this really made the stay extra special.

Great and distinctive hotel. Nice. The villas are magnificent and have a private pool and jacuzzi in the pool. The beach is lovely. There is a children's club with workers. Free of charge for guests of all ages. Free transfers within the resort by the Golf Car are required at the time of departure. The staff treated very well. Breakfast is modest.

Best Hotel visited so far. Food Excellent. Service Excellent. Not a 'factory' like a lot of the other 4 and five star hotels. Hot Tub in pool is divine.

Awesome, have been there many times. Exceptional spa, perfect suite room. Kindness, beauty. To recommend with eyes closed.

Excellent resort with super friendly and attentive staff. Front desk manager Mukesh will take care of you, Kunkun excellent driver, restaurant staff Jonathan, Elvis, Davisen, Sia thanks a lot. Not to forget Anish's cocktails are to melt for. Jijil is the one to go to for reflexology. But there are more to name in the background who one doesn't see but makes sure that the rooms are spotless. I start sounding like I work there by now but I was truly pleasantly surprised. Definitely coming back!

Worst hotel ever we booked the biggest thing they have and the a/c was not working in it

The resort is nice to live in. A week ago, but the reception is very bad, and the guests listen to the guest's face, the management is bad, their services are very bad and the Wi-Fi is busy inside the villa.

We delivered a car there. In the middle of no where but the drive was splendid (from Mahebourg); no traffic jam possible! The security guard was very professional; a reflection of the establisment maybe?

The hotel is heavenly, it's comfortable and clean we really loved the stay here, we would have put 5 if the prices were a little more reasonable but otherwise everything was frankly perfect.
The magical setting and the food very well prepared, in short we are won over.
It is typically the kind of place that we dream of reproducing to make it our home because everything is enviable, the rental, the beach the swimming pool the room in short if it was like that with us we would dream of it !!

Very nice Hotel.
Amazing and super kind staff.
The food is amazing. They have the best sushi chef.
The rooms are super big with a huge balcony that has an ocean view.
You can do yoga classes and stand up paddle boarding for free.
And the Spa is fantastic.
All in all I had an amazing stay and I can t wait to come back.

Everything was great ..... A luxury hotel without ifs and buts ....

Courteous and friendly but unfortunately this is compensated with incompetence and ignorance! Extra wishes in the service to such a would have to be possible - but unfortunately the poorly trained staff is overwhelmed. It has then billed at the check-out also services, which were not available! Bad is then when it is argued that it still needs to be calculated because you do not know how to post it differently. Sad but true!

My favorite hotel from now enjoying my stay. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. Delicious food specially the grill rum shed .

Superb luxorius spa hotel. Felt like being in heaven!!! Staff members were all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very delicious. The beach is beautiful with its own small corals just in snorkeling reach. You can do many free activities through out the resort like taking archery lessons. We love to come back someday!!!

I never write reviews, but I had such a negative experience here that I feel the need to at least make you aware incase you are thinking to book this hotel. It's Such a shame because I'm sure it was a nice place when it opened... However all of the details have fallen through the cracks. Underwhelming at best. General manager not present. Night manager has very Poor customer service and follow up. Poor attitude all around.
We were in one room for four nights, the sheets were never changed and the bathtub was never cleaned. Never.
For the food: I advise you to not book half board, very limited options if you have any dietary requirements, and you have to pay a supplement for most of the menu items anyway.
A Few of the staff members are great, specifically at Stars, but for the most part, especially in the Rum Shack, they are very rude. Our reservation for this restaurant, that was made by reception, was not honored when we arrived, and we had to wait almost two hours to eat. Prices for Evian water is the equivalent of 10 euro for. 75 liter bottle. Pic attached of the "grill" they were offering that night. Not sure what it was, but it resembles a dog.
Hot tub in spa was never hot. They said it was getting fixed, but not during our stay.
At the beach, they hide the towels under the umbrellas instead of putting them away, and they put these same towels out every day... So they are never clean. See attached picture.
We ordered drinks on the beach and when the bill arrived we were Charged different prices on bill than on menu. When I refused to sign the check due to the incongruency, someone from the staff came banging on our door a half hour later (though we had the do not disturb) and demanded I sign the check, saying that they had increased the prices but forgot to change the menus.
Filed several complaints which went ignored, except by the F&B manager, who went above and beyond his job scope to pick up the slack of the other managers.
We were upgraded to a pool villa but could not use the pool because the pool light was detached and there was a risk of being electrocuted.
To top it all off, at 830 am, we were awoken by a member of housekeeping, who let himself into our room. We told the night manager who said that is their policy that if we don't answer two times, housekeeping must let themselves in. At 830 am.
Very disappointed that I was promised a follow up from the hotel manager, and a month later, still nothing.
They do not value guests at all.

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

The place is beautiful, but the staff is not helpful, very slow and useless, very bad home

There's such an allure about this slice of heaven. Located South of the island the drive is quite scenic but entering the resort your treated to truly gorgeous Oasis. Service is supberb on occasion greeted by the general manager. Staff here truly know how to welcome and never forget how to make sure you have the utmost comfort and relaxation. The accommodation perched under the gorgeous night Sky, star gazing here is on another level. We stayed beachfront with palatial rooms fitted with modern facilities. The secluded beach is a safe Reef enjoy a stroll on the beach or book into a relaxing first class spa treatment. Comfort and excellence in food and beverage choices, we enjoyed pizza and salads under our beach umbrella and secluded romantic dinner in the restaurant at night. It will always have a special place for us as we were engaged here at the end of the wharf under the balmy night beneath the stars.The only thing we regret was leaving.

Very nice hotel.. all the staff were very friendly, helpful & professional.. we ve had a great time .. the rooms are wide, the beds were very comfy, the bathrooms are large with large wardrobe.. the private pool was amazing as well as the view.. the rooms were clean & tidy, the service was great.. we feel like we were in heaven & we really didnt want to go back.. the only one thing that disturbed us was the huge amount of ants that come on every single thing... i dont think there is anything can be done in this regard but just to warn anyone who is coming not to bring open food & to be prepared

If you want to have a peaceful yet memorable time, Shanti Maurice is where you need to go.
The Resort offers the one of the best, if not the best the quality service.
We were pampered by the extremely best service by all staffs. We enjoyed yummy foods, thanks to Yogesh, Restaurant Manager, who is accompanied us throughout our stay. Not to forget Davisen for the unique dessert treat..selection of sorbet platter and breakfast offer.
On the level of front office, Mukesh, was there to help for any guidance and offered us a suitable room with seaview and a late checkout upon our request.
Few things not to be missed are
- fish feeding ritual,
- tides,
- visiting the 'Rum Shed' restaurant as you will find over 700 rum flavors,
- 3 holes golf playing and free ride bicycle riding

On the whole, I highly recommend a visit and stay at Shanti Maurice on AI basis. a
As for me, a second stay is already in the pipeline.

Spent there 6 days with my wife and toddler.
Overall a nice hotel, here are our observations:
- great kids club (from 3 years old)
- outdoor cinema every 2 days
- very clean rooms
- beach isn't really for swimming
- amazing pool
- wonderful food in the restaurants
We do think taking bed only is better, as half board is only valid for one restaurant. Do enjoy the buffet in kaze mama (2000rps per person) and the various burgers at the rum shed.

Shanti is situated to the south of Mauritius and have great views of the sea. While the facilities offered and rooms were great, quality of service still has some areas that need significant improvements.

Our room was not ready until almost two hours past check in time of 2pm. No decent explanation was given for this delay. However on the day we checked out, they insisted we leave at the check out time of 12pm.

The room was of a good size and contained all the expected conveniences. It also had a bunk bed for the kids.

The food was ok but choice was limited. Flies are also a problem in the dining area, especially at breakfast.

One of the most beautiful trips I've done with my family. The hotel is fabulous, the spaces are immense and everything is very well cared for. The room is really spacious and comfortable and located along the beach, which is very wide. The sea is beautiful but not amazing; the seabed is low and the coral reef is quite varied. At low tide it is impossible to go to the barrier unfortunately. For children it is ideal to bathe, especially in the protected area reclaimed from sea urchins and xorals.
The restaurants are very well kept and the food is very good. Beautiful the SPA with very professional employees. All the staff are particularly kind, as are all Mauritians.
A resort to recommend!

I have lived in 4 different places considered to be one of the best resorts on the island, but this is indisputably beautiful, the service, clean the beach, the distinctive handling of the beautiful staff and the receptionist especially Ria, I thank them very much for this experience

We found the resort beautiful, with friendly staff but just useless unfortunately. The infrastructor doesn t correspond to the standard of a 5* resort. Service never works on a first go. It s not worse the money also because you can t swim without shoes at the sea. It has been the 4th time on beautiful Mauritius, but this time it was very disappointing, also because the management didn t really care or helpless ignorant. Paul + Aisha, UK

I booked a very nice beach view room.

Breakfast is delicious and its sessions are so special that you can sit across from the beach
But the items are repeated daily and there is no diversification.

So your next vacation to #Mauritius is finally settled (when all this BS will finally be over...): it should be at Shanti Maurice, simply because the service is the best in the Island, and the facility maintenance also is the best. The site and hotel are also gorgeous and it features great perks you'll be thrilled to discover.

The hotel is luxuriously designed and decorated. It has a fantastic SPA, pool, and green areas. It has a unique library for those who wants to rest away from the sun. The library is also supplied with fruit, cakes, hot and cold drinks for those who want a snack in between meals. All rooms are large, well equipped and have a sea view.

Lovely , peaceful and awesome place to come and relax. Warm welcome from dedicated staff. Spa is awesome, 10/10. Worth a visit.

The BEST hotel I've ever been to!
Staff is so kind and helpful - even the gardeners.
Hotel has a "Shanti" (peaceful) style to it which means the whole hotel is surrounded by nature like swamp, forest and etc.
The hotel is not capable of hosting too many guests so it's really quiet and peaceful as the hotel is trying to be.
Hotel is huge and so are the rooms!
Rooms are always clean and they even folded our clothes and charging cables so everything will be organized.
The hotel thinks of everything for you and the restaurants they have are so great and delicious!!
We booked the ocean front view room and we were 5 meters from the beach with a balcony to watch the beach and the beautiful sunsets.
Definitely book your stay there, you will never want to leave this heavenly hotel.
Deserves more than 5 stars!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at the Shanti. Everything was perfect: our luxury pool villa (205), the food, the spa, the pool, the location and the service we received. Special thanks to Priya, the guest relations manager for making our stay extra special. And a special mention for Azem and Sanjoy for looking after us at breakfast and dinner.
