Impeccable service! Love the little details they have gone to in making my stay a much vindicated one. From the bday tags hung on the bed post, balloons, gift pack for the kid, etc. Though tbh, i was underwhelmed by buds, kid felt the same too and asked me where is the rest of it after running ard for 10 min. Have not ate bfast buffet at The Line before, but i thought the variety isnt much. This could be due to covid?
The mattress was uncomfortable , much too firm and the pillows were very uncomfortable I awoke with a sore neck and not well rested . The rooms are very dated and not very welcoming .The day bed or whatever it is in the bay window space is is not very practical or useable .
One of Singapore's most well-renowned hotels, Shangri-La has had a long history of having excellent service. I have also had dinners at the Line restaurant and during wedding dinners and my experience has always been very positive. Would highly recommend staying at this establishment.
Overall good service, unfortunately the food is subpar. We ordered room service several times during our stay. The smoothie came with a rubber ring which was most likely dropped from the blender. The fish we ordered from the fish and chips tasted more like chicken breasts it was not edible.
My family were pleasantly surprised to have an early check-in which delighted my son who was looking forward to the pool & many activities for kids. :)
The extra bed were all done up and the picnic basket were delightful - whole family enjoyed to our hearts content.

Excellent service. The hotel lobby (among others?) was newly renovated and front desk guy said they just reopened in 2016.
My husband and I had the most marvelous time during our staycation at the Shangri La Hotel over the Chinese New Year period. This was where we celebrated our wedding in the Tower Ballroom two decades ago (it will be exactly 20 years this 29th of December), so this hotel will always be a very special place for us.
We stayed in a Tower room this time and loved it. While the view from the 18th floor was spectacular, the elegant and stylish room was extremely clean and comfortable. I found the dressing table a very thoughtful touch, as it made applying make-up so much easier with the built-in lighting.
Service was absolutely top-notch. Every encounter we had with any member of the staff was a real pleasure. They were warm, sincere, caring and displayed a lot of initiative. I could tell the team at Shangri La genuinely cared about us and wanted to know how they could make our stay as unforgettable as possible. Special mention must be made of Mr. Somik Banerjee, Sous Chef Ganesh of the Rose Veranda, as well as Head Sommelier Britt, Restaurant Manager Shoban and Yatin at the Origin Grill. I felt they all went above and beyond to ensure we were as happy as we could be.
Our overall experience was excellent, all the staff were very professional and willing to help.

Great hotel, convenient central location yet quiet and secuded away from the bussle and traffic of Orchard Road. Great pool area and spa. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts and the view from our balcony.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff - a bit of a mix up about late check out but sorted out. Love the club lounge and the coffee maker in room. really comfy bed and excellent bathroom. Pool and gym great as well and very convenient location.

Compliments and congratulations must be recorded for the Kitchen Staff of this restaurant. Having had frequented this restaurant for many years, this time as well over the last few months visits, the taste and presentation standard of food served have distinctly and strikingly vastly improved. In combination with the usual attentive table service staff which incidently has been improving constantly, put this restaurant as one of the best restaurant around to have a great meal.
The room was very well maintained and the check in prices was smooth and good.
However I would say that the experience at The Line for breakfast was very chaotic (no fault of the team) but it was clear that there were too many guests. This group from India was very unruly and the staff were unable to control them. This unfortunately killed the experience and made what was supposed to be a relaxed breakfast into a mad rush.
I would also comment that the service at the Horizon club was rather disappointing as they were not attentive when the customer arrives (despite it not being a peak period). Perhaps I might be a little sensitive, but I also believe that the service staff was more attentive to foreign guests rather than local guests.
I would say that Conrad's service at the lounge is still one of the best as they provide a very warm service regardless of the customer's nationality.
Lastly, when I requested for an additional pillow at around midnight, it took half an hour before the pillow arrived. Furthermore the staff delivering the pillow looked more hurried rather than apologetic for keeping your guest waiting for such a long time.
Perhaps it could be my fault for having such a high standard, but I would like to believe that the Shangri la should be held at such a high level.

Classy place. Location is out of the way but it's meant to give it privacy and away from public view. International crusine is decent.
Hope that there is operations manual and tv guide to help. Haha...
It was an excellent stay overall, except that the room given to us was blocked by trees, which restricted our view of the beautiful pool. Regretted not opting to change the room! We also were not aware that guests of the hotel had to pay entrance fee at Buds, as what was indicated in the hotel's website mentioned that it was open to guests of the hotel (assuming it was for all guests, and that it was part of the access we can get as guests). Perhaps more clarity can be made on the website itself? Thank you!
We have been staying at the Shangri-La in Singapore since 1979 - and enjoying every moment. We often even hit Singapore during our Asian travels just to stay in the Valley Wing as we love the services and atmosphere provided by Nora Ghazali as the Valley Wing Manager. Never disappointed - says it all.

Amenities and especially service at front desk is superb. The bench seat upholstery at the Line next to the entrance/exit to the pool is torn and needs attention. Take this as a recommendation and not a complaint as my experience at Shangri La is a very positive one.
Much of the hotel (tower wing) is nicer after their renovation a few years back. The horizon club lounge is very nicely decorated and comfortable with good views of the area.

Great rooms and amazing accommodation, the are is generally safe and I believe the food is great. Aside from the food, their service is amazing and fast. The rooms have a great amount of space, and can accommodate you and your group, if ever, very well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone willing to have a good experience while in Singapore.
We have been visiting this hotel very often as my Husband is a golden circle diamond member. A few staffs are really nice but many are often grumpy and rude. We are frequent diners at the Lobby Lounge and The Line. Seriously it was only because the food quality is good and we need to redeem our points. Otherwise we won t bother going there and having to put up with their grumpy staffs. Even though we have been such frequent visitors to this hotel, no one ever remembers us. The Pinoy hostesses at the Waterfall terrace are very stuck up. Luckily, once u get pass them and enter the restaurant, most staffs are quite friendly.
Our stay at Shangri-La Hotel for our wedding anniversary was extraordinary. Firstly, we were surprised that the Hotel upgraded us to the suite at the Valley Wing. The suite is spacious, luxurious and elegant. Most of all, the suite is clean and very well 'equipped' (there is even a desktop printer etc.). Every effort was put in to make our experience a memorable one. Thank you Shangri-La Hotel and your friendly staff.

I have been coming here for 40 years and it just keeps getting better. Set on about 4 acres, just walking around the gardens is a wonderful experience

The hotel is probably good, but here are the apartments and the staff in them raises questions in terms of the attitude towards the guests!
Beautifully renovated and perfect for families. The new lobby is one of the most beautiful I have seen worldwide. Great new kids facilities, indoor and out.
A great tip for families: Rent one of the two bedroom Shangri-La apartments for an extra bit of space. You get access to all the hotel pools, while also having your own kitchen. A very elegant place.
Stunning hotel! Great lobby area very picturesque. The room was amazing. Staff were very friendly even when we checked out they were attentive and helpful especially Peter at the lobby who always took care of our needs! I would definetly recommend the hotel.
Visited Line cafe,usual family gathering venue. Good range of food and quality has met up with it's price for the buffet lunch.
Sprawling property with a variety of room price points. Stay in the valley wing if you can afford it to sip champagne and canapes in the lounge and watch celebrities breeze by

Rooms are very old and musty smelling. And it was stressful being put on waitlist for everything. But the service is excellent. Staff are flexible and accommodating (within covid rules). The family enjoyed the stay very much. Breakfast was great! Very good selection.
Had the buffet dinner at the Line. Food was good but I didn't see any fresh oysters. I enjoyed the fresh sashimi and the bbq lamb very much. I went on a weekend so it was unfortunate that alcohol was not on the buffet menu so I had to ala carte it. It cost about $130+ per pax
One is made to feel so very welcome, and given the impression that there is no end to the service and attention that will be eagerly offered to one as a guest. The atmosphere is completely calm and relaxing.
Personalised service is the hallmark of Shangri-la Singapore - we sincerely feel like we're at a home away from home in the Valley Wing.
Only negative on this recent visit was that the Valley Wing Breakfast a la carte was way below the 'usual' standard. So much so that we chose to eat at the Line on most mornings as that remains excellent.

I stayed in the hotel for my SHN for 14 days. The room is so comfortable that ai felt 14 days were a breeze and passed by so fast. The hotel staff were superb and professional. Thank you for making my 14 days SHN a wonderful stay.
My wife and I found the experience at the Shangri La everything we expected and maybe more. The staff were wonderfully attentive, attention to detail great, facilities first class and of course the grounds a super highlight and very relaxing. loved the room too (Horizon Club King) and found that it had everything we needed. The Pool is the best in Singapore - I think so anyway!!

I especially would like to recognize Melissa's (At the Horizon Club) excellent job and customer service in diligently checking in daily to accommodate a room for me, as I had a last minute trip to Singapore and the hotel was fully booked during the Asean summit.
She successfully got me a room every night while I was there. This was exceptional and quiet an outstanding.

This is place where they really focus on being the definition of a hotel: attentive service, clean, comfortable rooms, and great layout of the place. Had my wedding there.
The Hotel was elegant; the room was a large size; the staff were very polite.
Everything was good except for the cleaniness of the toilet. We found hairs on the toilet floor and bathtub. Informed frontdesk and was given a change of room, although the problem was rectified, we were just not expecting this from one of the best hotel in our home country.
Nice and huge ballroom. Banquet service was good. Food quality was above average. Facilities such as toilets were kept clean and dry.

The hotel is just off orchard road, either walking or a short taxi ride to orchard road puts you in the middle of everything you need. Several shopping areas, bars and restaurants all nearby.
Absolutely loved the hotel.
Most disappointing after so many great experiences at Shangri la. Hotel full of package tour guests, bad behaviour, noise and no escape even in the Club Lounge. Children running riot with no parental control. We should have been warned about this strategic change. We still had to pay 5 star prices for everything. How has this happened to the once magnificent Shangri la, previously one of the finest hotels in the world. I can get a similar experience on the Costa Brava in Spain at 10% of the cost if I want it.
