This upscale hotel in Orchard area of Singapore has impressive grounds (and lobby), excellent breakfast buffet, large and well-equipped gym, polite and attentive staff, and nice in-room amenities, such as a Nespresso. We stayed in the Tower wing. The room was adequate and clean but a bit small. The room was wedge-shaped and the bathroom a bit cramped. The Origin bar (just opened) made unique cocktails, drawing on Singapore's history for inspiration. Our experience was marred by the check-in process. Early check was not available. In fact, after a long check-in line, our room was still not available at 3 pm and we had to continue waiting. This was unpleasant after a long flight. The location appears convenient, but reaching the nearest MRT requires a 15-minute walk in the heat, or using the free shuttle which runs once an hour. Overall a good experience.

The Shangri La is a beautiful hotel and you are made to feel very special when you stay. The staff are attentive and helpful.
The grounds are beautiful as are the rooms.
I cant imagine a better place to stay when in Singapore

I booked the family fun playcation package since S...

I booked the family fun playcation package since September 2020 for the stay on 14-15th November 2020. I am very appreciative of the compliementary cake arranged for a mini birthday celebration. I was under the impression that my 2 children will be able to enjoy the facilities designed specially for children at Shangri-La. I tried to call a day earlier in an attempt to book the playtime slots as I realised that it was the public holiday weekend. I was then told that I would need to await the QR code provided during check in before I am able to do so.
However when I arrived at 2.30pm for check in, all the popular time slots were already taken up. Thankfully the staff at buds (indoor and outdoor) were able to slot my kids in for a playtime for 30mins at the indoor playground on 14th Nov and also managed to get in to the outdoor playground that evening as well.

I would like to suggest that perhaps for families who paid for the family fun playcation package that they get a link prior to check in to book the playslots given that we are still restricting and practising safe distancing.

Otherwise I did feel that I was short changed, as I have paid for the playcation package and unable to fully utilise what I have paid for.

I would not recommend taking up the packages as there is no guarantee that playtime slots are available.

Overall it was a good experience. Some hiccups along the way. The quality of food and facilities is amazing!

Have to commend the team at Origin Grill . We dined there with our 5 and 2 year old who were restless. I asked if they had any coloring for the kids to keep them occupied and they printed some coloring sheets for our kids on the spot! Amazing Service.

Thank you for excellent services. Except for some slight improvement in bathroom cleaning services the rest are excellent services.
I also recall need for improvement in the dinning I had at the Italian restaurant on Tuesday evening whereby the waiter was not very responsive.

Hotel and facilities overall were very good. Staff in the Summit room at breakfast were delightful from the charming French manager downwards. The GM introduced himself which was a nice touch. Breakfast in the Summit room was a bit chaotic on occasion and the coffee is not great. Staff in the Valley Wing were largely excellent and a credit to your group. However some of the staff in the lobby bar made my family uncomfortable. The two senior waiters in the afternoon/evening had an unpleasant condescending attitude. If you were a regular at the Hotel they were delightful but not so with my family which was very disappointing as it it spoilt the overall experience and made us uncomfortable. On one occasion we took the remainder of our evening nightcap to our room. The following day we were reprimanded loudly by one of these gentlemen in front of other guests and told to use room service if we wanted a drink in our room. This was the taller gentleman with short swept back hair. My family did not care for his attitude at all. This is shocking conduct. A note in our room to explain your policy would have been more professional. We have stayed in the equivalent wing in Bangkok and never experienced this attitude problem.

I really appreciate your hotel staff who have seen that my family and I have been waiting in the concierge area for a long time for the room to be ready, and they get the earliest ready room for us. I appreciate their attentiveness and their prompt action taken.

Ate at Line Restaurant. Food was ok, but the durians were awesome! Staff was really efficient and friendly! Highly reccomended to bring your friends/love ones here prices are on the steep side. However, still worth a visit!

We were disappointed to find out there is no bath ...

We were disappointed to find out there is no bath tub in the family deluxe room. Prior my staycation, I had arrange with Ms Lizette Nocon for a complimentary birthday cake when we were dining at The Lobby Lounge. It was meant to be a surprise for my husband. But we did not receive anything! It was only when I went to get my room confirmation, that Shirley assisted to get a cake to be placed in the room. The coffee machine in the room was faulty. We had ordered in-room dining, the ice-cream and sauce for beef were not served together. We got to make another call to inform. And wrong ice-cream flavour was served. The minibar price list in the room is not updated. Upon check-out, we noticed the discrepancy when we were charged more for a can of coke. The direction signage to Outdoor Playground was not lighted, causing confusion when we did a recce to the area. We had breakfast at The Line, an unknown man wanted to join our and other's table randomly. In the end, he ate while standing. It seems he was not registered hence without a table. Thought the staff could better police such errant people.

It was good to be back at the Island Ballroom to celebrate my alma mater, Anglo-Chinese School's (ACS') 133rd Anniversary!

There were 202 tables of old boys and girls which basically filled the entire room to the brim.

All members of the ACS family were represented including ACS Junior, ACS Primary. ACS Barker,, ACS Independent, ACS International, ACJC and even ACS Jakarta.

The guest of honour was Ng Eng Chin, currently Principal of ACS International in Jakarta.

The food was quite decent but we enjoyed each other's company even more!

Another highlight was the lusty singing of our beloved school anthem...

Seamless check-in and check-out experience, and staff service was excellent from even before we arrived. We requested for the highest room in the garden wing suite and this was noted too. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

An oasis in the city. Everything you would expect from a Shangri-la. A bit of a walk (15 mins) to get to town in the local heat, yet rather short for a taxi ride. Nonetheless, that's a tiny price for pay!

The room we booked was clean, well upkept and kept the old world charm in a serene space. Staff were always attentive and warm to our requests.
The lobby lounge and valley wing had lovely ambience and cocktails!
Event Manager Michelle helped us a lot, showering us with friendship, patience and attention. Our banquet staff at my wedding evening were excellent.

Great personal service, marvellous food, beautiful 15 acre garden with thousands of tropical and semi-tropical plants around the complex and also inside the buildings, lots of interesting things to see and do around the area but would be equally happy just to chill out at Shagri-La!

My work conference was held at the hotel, hence for convenience sake, I stayed here for 4 nights. Great service from the reception desk team, house keeping and even F&B team! Good van shuttle service to strategic shopping mall locations. I am hoping to return again for a holiday with my family. My kids will definitely enjoy as much as I have.

I would like to congratulate the Shangri La Singap...

I would like to congratulate the Shangri La Singapore Valley Wing on the service we received from all of the staff they where truly magnificent.
The staff are genuine & friendly we felt part of their family and we where sorry to say good bye.
The Champagne on arrival was superb a perfect greeting !
Afternoon Tea a total pleasure !
Breakfast there are no words possibly perfection!
Our hotel room had a wonderful view of the swimming pool, the bed was very comfortable and room amenities where wonderful.
We had left it late to try get into the Steakhouse and they were fully booked so we ate at the bar.

Had the luxury of experiencing diner de fleur in shangri-la and it was a fantastic experience. I definitely recommendation people try it. The food was exquisite and so was the ambience. Truly a memorable dinner

I expected more refinement amongst the guests but ...

I expected more refinement amongst the guests but instead found many to be rude. The hotel needs its staff to enforce better behavior from its customers. We were frequently cut off, pushed or shoved. Breakfast buffet just getting food or worse trying to order an omelet. I did appreciate one morning when the omelet chef told someone they were behind me after they cut in front on me. Kid club: what is up with the lines? Be better to not make the hotel like a theme park and instead arrange a more orderly way to use kid club. I recommend a take a number system when the crowd is so bad. The pool...we just needed one chair. No one working there managed the chairs so we had a family aggressively get in our face when we were about to set our things down to tell us they had those chairs. They were the only 3 open chairs. Granted that family had 3 adults and 3 kids. However I was one adult with two kids. I tried to reason with them. Even though I felt they didn t even have claim to the chairs. We were standing in front of them while they were over getting towels but said those were their chairs. With 3 adults one could have stood by them to claim them had they been there first. Regardless, I am not the type of person to be rude so after asking nicely if they couldn t at least share and let us use one chair. But being told no. I took my kids and placed my things on the ground. We swam and while swimming I noticed the other family didn t sit in the chairs and didn t have anything on the chairs except their towels. They could have let us have one. It would have been really nice to have someone that works at the pool to have intervened and told them they needed to share. We paid a lot to stay at Shangri la. If it was a budget hotel I wouldn t expect better service. The entire staff needs to police bad behavior and keep rude guests in check. There was a staff person (at the towels) that watched the whole pool exchange and just shrugged.

Overall great hotel! We specifically booked this hotel because of Splash zone, we have an 8 and a 10 year old, you d think they were allowed to go there by themselves...naaaa aah an adult has to be present. So much for reading a book for one hour by the pool

My family booked connecting rooms which was spacious and luxurious as expected from the brand. Hotel offers shuttle to orchard road. Receptionist is brilliant and an absolute assist to the company. We enjoy our stay here
