Shangri-La Singapore Hotel Review

Maintaining the old world charm with modern amenities. Brilliant landscape exudes resort feel in modern Singapore. Rooms a bit dated. Housekeeping is very good. Location off Orchard.

Location is great, a quieter part of the city, but still only a few hundred metres from the start of the shopping strip... Rooms are as fully kitted-out as you would expect, and the quality of the fit-out is very good. Service is top-notch, and can't be faulted.

I enjoyed my stay at Shangri-La very much. Special thanks to Annie of Customer Service who organised birthday cake and card. All the service staff were delightfully pleasant and friendly, from Reception, dining room staff, to the daily house keeping staff.

The flower gardens are as beautiful as promised. Thank you for the booklet on Orchids. However it is difficult to relate the orchids we see to the booklet. It would be wonderful if names of orchids and other plants could be discreetly tagged, throughout the gardens and in the Orchid itself. I am sure this would be a great add- on to the enjoyment of garden lovers who stay with you. At present many must feel slightly frustrated at seeing the wealth of this botanical collection without knowing their names.

We had our high tea at the rose veranda. We simply loved the service of the staff and the manager on duty was sensitive to our needs every time. Had a superb celebration for our wedding anniversary and it was definitely memorable!

Always efficient and friendly as usual. They even had my preferred pillow ready on the bed.

Luxury hotel with three different wings in different price ranges. All kinds of possibilities such as fitness, large pool, 9 different restaurants, shops, ...
.5 minutes walk to Orchiad Road, 15 minutes taxi ride to Marina Bath and Central District.
How a 1-bedroom suite lived in the Gar the Wing and were satisfied. Access to the Horizon Lounge is included here (breakfast, 14-16 h coffee & cake, 17-20 o'clock cocktails etc).
Well-appointed suite with classic furnishings and chic marble bathrooms. Loccitane other, water, tower the service, ... 70 sqm with large balcony, quiet and not clairaudient

need to change the flower landscape because when the flowers drop at the floor balcony look very messy and the pool view looks great and nice. Overall thanks to shangri-la hotel give me the best special meals and breakfast.

We went for staycation during my boy's birthday and really enjoyed the stay and facilities. Thank you for all the staff that extend their service for us: excellent arrival experience, friendly staff that cater to our requests and beyond (like gluten free requirement, extra kids mask, and even gave us complimentary items). The kids also enjoy free activities like feeding the koi fish, decorating pancake, and making badge.

The only thing that I hope you can improve is the dining reservation line (which was almost fully booked), to be more friendly, and probably try to break into more time slot if the hotel is full house.

4.8 Stars from me - the only reason its not a 5... well, firstly I opted for a smoking room as sometimes I don't mind a cigar everyone and then and I know I'm in a smoking room - however... it is really really strong of stale smoke and I feel like an establishment like this especially in Singapore with its smoking laws should invest in a much more advanced air filtration system.

Ironically when I got to my room, there was a big "NO SMOKING!" Sign in the room lol..

The room is nice, its a more basic 5 star hotel, however there are nice little features and I do appreciate the amenity kits in the bathroom.

The staff and 5/5 they have been amazing and so friendly.

Now... the breakfast buffet.... my goodness - WORLD Class! You have to see it to believe it.... its about $45 USD with taxes.... however its well well worth it! The coffee could of been better though.

Has been my favorite hotel in Singapore for years now. Each return visit renews my wonderful memories with new ones. Your staff is always welcoming in a genuine way, and seem to "recognize" me on each stay. Hence, it is the Singapore hotel that I recommend to family and friends.

Went to the rose veranda, food was perfect. Service was excellent. The only problem is that it is not very accessible using public transport, but the food and service make all the travelling worthwhile

meet my expectation, the best thing you have a smoking room available.

The room's sitting area, in the bay window, was not comfortable to use. The bathroom was excellent. The "vanity table" was not necessary and took up room. Public areas were great.

It was a wonderful experience. If there was to be room for improvement, i would suggest that the morning breakfast at The Line to include more Japanese food, such as sushi or sashimi.

Hi, i had a 2 night stay few days ago.
I find not just the front desk but office staffs are at tip top service. Well mannered and warmly greeted the guest. Thanks for that wonderful stay. Sabash.

Still one of the premier hotels in Singapore. Great service by some of the senior staff. Must compliment them including their banquet team and waitresses.

We spent a wonderful time at the Shangri La Hotel.
Especially the waiters at the pool and the waterfall cafe were very helpful and always ready to do a favor.

Our family came to Singapore for Christmas and chose to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore! Thank you for sending our baby squirrel dolls as a commemorative gift! The result... On the first day, our baby went to the pool in the hall and was injured. The hotel staff also informed the medical care unit quickly. It is recommended to introduce us to the nearby maternal and child hospital. We are very thoughtful to help us arrange a free Taxi transfer! The hotel service staff saw us the next day and we were very kind to care about the greetings!
There is also a family-friendly park designed for children to play. It is very clean and makes us feel at ease! ! It is very convenient to have Chinese language service everywhere in the hotel! Originally, the water pressure in the room was unstable. After the next day to be repaired, the bath water became very comfortable!
It is a pity that there is no turntable service in a five-star hotel! But close to the lively Orchard Road, the hotel also has a shuttle bus to pick up Orchard Road! This is a hotel with a leisurely atmosphere and a green atmosphere!

One of the best hotels for sure. Simply amazing how much they thought about guest experience in the rooms.

High tea buffet @$60/Adult & $30/child. Lots to eat, steamed Turkey, roasted Ham, Laksa, Cakes of all sorts. I loved the durian cakes top with coconut shavings, hot/cold tea and coffee. Fresh fruits. Salmon sashimi.

There is no doubt that you will make a very wonderful stay. A rejuvenated and refined gorgeous feeling is indeed a Singapore top hotel. However, I personally felt the taste before renewal, and I liked the colonial space.

Went there for a wedding banquet. Portions were massive and carb heavy.

Nice hotel with lots of space and outdoor green area. Friendly staff. Good bed and shower. Breakfast too crowded and food was mediocre. Spacious gym but equipments quite old and clunky.

Very high class and high security place. Its in a quite location too and near alot of shopping centres too

Very unethical practice by shangrila hotel. Went to the lobby lounge lunch buffet which is usually 38++ as stated on the menu. When the bill came , they charged $68++ claiming it is CNY. Almost double the price for CNY!? A case of sheer profiteering. Worse part is that the menu still stated the normal price. If they wanted to increase their prices at least have the decency to print new menus to reflect the price change.
We had to challenge their claim and eventually they reverted to charging us the normal rate.

Our seventh stay at Shangri La Singapore but only our second stay in the Valley Wing. Excellent experience with fabulous staff, wonderful room and great food and cocktails. It is an heavenly experience with luxury all round.

Line Restaurant, great selection of food at the dinner buffet, especially the poached salmon and prime rib. Well worth a visit

The room we had #686 in the Garden Wing was very comfortable. Service was excellent. Club Lounge was excellent, and staff there was great. Breakfast was outstanding. Love the Shanghai-la. Uncommon comfort and service in a prime location in Singapore.

Food was good. They do not have free flow wine on Tuesday and Thursday anymore. No oyster on that day. 15% discount if you book online.

Very enjoyable 5 days stay staff and Hotel were excellent

My daughter got sick during my stay there and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. Too bad we weren't able to fully enjoy the food as we both were not feeling well during that time but on one meal we had, the food tastes really great.

Organising a meeting with international delegates at Shangri-la Hotel. Choose this venue if you want to leave your guests with the best impressions. The valley wing suites are luxurious and suitable for VIPs. Ballrooms are spacious and well designed. The hotel lobby is slightly crowded at times though.

We have stayed on many occasions and enjoyed the great hospitality but not this stay. Extremely unhappy and insulted with this stay though it was supposedly a newly renovated suite room. Fresh folded towels placed on the racks were stained with lipstick marks, cockroach running along the corridor and my wife was bitten by some insects/bug on the bed. Room was not cleaned properly with whiteboards used by previous occupiers uncleaned. All the above are not acceptable at all.

Being a Jade tier member I was offered 3 complimentary items to be selected which were never delivered to the room during my stay. And also Mr. Terence at the reception was informed during check out. Next only problem with the hotel is that delivery time for food is too high for In Room Dining. Rest hotel and its services are upto mark for a 5 Star hotel.

Stayed at Valley Wing. Loved the room but service is mixed and can be better. I was made to understand by a friend ( who is staying in Valley wing but different floor) that there was to be fruits at the room but there was none at my room. The lobby at Valley Wing is also confusing and staffs did not greet or guide where to go. They way the look at my is that I cannot afford to stay at that Wing. This also happens at the Line Restaurant which caught me and my wife by surprise.

My experience at another 5 star hotel in Singapore is way better than this.

Amazing experience.. People's friendliness is amazing...

We all very much enjoyed our stay, and only wish it could have been longer. Spent a lot of our time by the pool and the quality of the poolside food was excellent. Breakfast choices were also lovely as well as numerous!

I didn't stay there as a hotel guest but was there with my kids at the Buds play ground. Kids loved it and the play area hosts were all friendly, patient and great with the kids. The venue was well equipped to give kids a great time, with ball pits, slides, music room, art room & glow in the dark painting, toddler play area, in door and outdoor dry and water play areas. My kids loved it!

Everything was up to expectations and up to Shangri-La tradition of hospitality and quality.

Inconvenient, the place was difficult to get to without a car. Foodwise, can be better.

I wrote an email on the day of check in but did not have a response till today. The email is below. I also found your dining credit did not make sense. It says you have 100 dining credit for each day, but later found out you need to spend the entire 100 on the check in day. This was not communicated and neither was the instruction clear.

I checked in today and found out that your Buds indoor playground is in fact open, despite the information provided in your email by Team Buds saying it is not available.

When i checked in, i was asked to register for a slot. I found that it is full the entire duration of my stay, today and tomorrow.

I am sure Team Buds and the hotel is aware that most people booking for a playcation is for the children and not the adults. If the facilities are unavailable i.e. indoor playground, splash pool (i came back from there and was told it is unlikely to be available for rest of today), then surely the hotel is overbooked.

This is truly dissappointing and management should look into reviewing the policies to avoid further unhappiness for guests and their families.

High and lofty ceiling, very classy and elegant a atmosphere.

The Valley Wing is the most prestigious among all 3 Wings (Valley Wing, Garden Wing, Tower Wing) offered by Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. The Valley Wing exudes luxury and elegance from the moment you step into its incredibly high-ceiling, grandiose lobby, fitted with extravagant crystal chandeliers as well as a four-storey high shiny golden applique. Ultra-stylish and luxurious accommodation with personalized services and exclusive facilities!

Overall one of the best hotels in Singapore with excellent rooms and facilities.

2 areas of improvement are
1. Breakfast area gets very crowded and there is no escort available to give a seat.
2. Pricing of rooms on higher side.

Love the bed but felt the room needs more mirrors. Check out was bad though. There were 3 people at the checkout counter but then 2 of them decided to just walk to the wall and stand there with only 1 for checkout
