Shamiana restaurant is available for Taj Mahal Palace, Taj Mahal Tower and outsiders. It s a Multi cuisine restaurant located on the ground floor opposite reception center and adjacent to Taj Tower elevators.
It has multiple seating options. This includes air conditioned area, open area, wine cellar area, etc. The staff were courteous and resembled the Taj s hospitality. Our server Sachin was really good. He helped us with food selection and helped my baby with baby seat and special fries to munch.
The food quality was excellent and in line with the glory of the Taj brand. You can come down to this restaurant and try some fast food items.

Excellent meal experience and outstanding service. From walking in the door, to being greeted and finally comfortably seating. The wood fire oven Pizza was very very good ....the chef cooked that meal to perfection. Enjoyed savouring the moment. Special thanks to the steward who recommended me the white wine.

Pretty nice restaurant to eat, offers variety of cuisines but particularly indian cuisine is the speciality. Chicken lababdar, seekh kabab, after the sunset mocktail were the items i ordered and i was decently satisfued with the taste as well as quality. Obviously, its on the expensive side. Must go once in life.

A brilliant restaurant with a touch of old world charm. They have a lovely a la carte menu and a even brilliant drinks menu. The breakfast spread is too lavish. With an array of fruits and juices to fresh South Indian and continental spread. They have these baskets of fruits that you can pick from. Very impressive.

Shamiana at Taj Mahal Palace, the name says it all. It's basically a 24-hour cosmopolitan food restaurant, located at the lobby level hence attracts majority of visitors.
Attending Breakfast buffet for the first time at Shamiana was a amazing experience, with a vast menu, and variety of dishes. It involved everything right from detox water, juices, egg station , Indian breakfast, waffles, pastries, fresh fruits, tea and coffee and many more things.
It was worth the experience,it was lovely to help yourself to whatever you wanted. Comfortable seating and staff are extremely proficient.
Overall, I love the ambience, food and service here at Shamiana!

My second visit to Shamiana. I distinctly remember my first time here with family where we were seated in a private dining section which is at the entrance of the restaurant. However during these times of pandemic and following strict social distancing norms we sat in a different area. Beautiful backdrop with wall hangings of all celebrities who have visited the Taj Mahal Hotel since inception. Shamiana is open to guests not staying within the hotel too.
It was nice to see a good occupancy at the restaurant which shows people trust the hygiene quality standards here and the love for good food. At Shamiana they provide the option of digitised menu which is definitely preferable than the standard menu. What I like about Shamiana is that being a fine dine, they still provide a decently elaborate menu to choose from.
We first called for a Margherita Pizza which was 10" wafer thin cripsy crust pizza. Absolutely yum, we prefer our Pizza clean rather than with more and more toppings on them. But definitely a must try is the Pizza here. Next we called for Martaban Kulche Chole. Again superb, Kulcha bread was very soft and fluffy. Again, chole well cooked, not too dry and not too spicy also but just be aware of some green chillies in it though.
Moving to the mains, we called for Mix Veg Lababdar along with Jeera Aloo. Here the mains - all veggies come along with approx 3 portions of Indian bread. Again really well cooked, nothing to complain absolutely.
Splendid time we had at Shamiana, visited on a special occasion within family. Hoping to come back soon for another delightful experience.
