I booked a party for my daughter, her 10th birthday. The woman on the phone i booked with was wonderful, i wish after a year i could remember her name, but I'll check the receipt in my email and come back and edit, so I booked with no problems she was able to type in my address and tell me that i could get it for the Shaker Rate. Well, we showed up and our guests began to come, and that's when the problems started, my guest would call while standing in the lobby because the girl.with the red hair wouldn't allow us to swim for the "Shaker Price" because my ID didn't state that it was a Shaker resident and i didn't have a piece of mail with me. I told her the woman booking didn't have a problem.typing in our address and seeing and she said we would be fine. That woman wasn't there that day, the girl then proceeded to tell me that i was lying about my children going to shakr schools cause i didn't have their identification and i was trying to STEAL discounted pool time...i was furious and i was perplexed. She told my.guest they couldn't get a band and that they had to pay even though i already paid, she told them they had to lay the difference because i WASN'T a shaker resident. It took for a young man to step in and say, well we have plenty of people that live on the border and are still Shaker residents, he says even he lives on the border. He apologized. The ordeal was completely uncomfortable and I'm SERIOUSLY MINIMIZING it because it still puts me in a sad place. I haven't been back since and I will never pay to be treated like that ever agai. The crew that set up the party for us was AMAZING though and it was because of them i felt comfortable enough to stay. I had no reason to STEAL pool time when i paid for a 4 hour slot and i could've went and swam free elsewhere. I was trying to be a part of a community that claims there's diversity. Smh. I'm just disgusted in the way people behave with consequences. Maybe one day we'll brave it and go back to the Shaker Rec but until then i wish the best for anyone that doesn't have an ID or a piece of mail or kids school ID. You may he accused of stealing discounted pool time.
