A very sweet lady I have known my whole life lives here. We flew out and did a socially distance visitation in late 2020 which went smooth, thinking shipping a care package would go well. Recently we had asked her if she needed anything. She said just winter accessories (gloves, beanies, socks),mesh laundry bag, coloring books, and a radio. We sewed the laundry mesh bag with her name and room number and put the winter accessories inside along with a radio. I shipped the box and it arrived at the facility March 12,2021. I understand protocol of opening their mail to check if something hazardous to their well being is inside. What is UNACCEPTABLE is STEALING. I called the lady to see if she had gotten her box complete turns out the person who delivered the box took the mesh bag with the accessories and radio and never came back to her room. It angers me that someone has the heart to steal socks and a radio from an elderly person who needs them. Shows if employees there are easily stealing something like socks from packages loved ones send you can imagine what happens behind closed doors. I called to get an explanation and I m still waiting for a call back. I hope they have a log when they deliver packages to patients so the person that did this is held accountable and fired.

My mom has been there for 6 years in skilled nursing because she's paralyzed on one side after a stroke. She's on Medicaid and there are very few good places that accept Medicaid. We have been happy with 90% of the caregivers including many who have been there the whole time and hug her (and us); the food is excellent, there are lots of activities.
As far as lack of response THEY ARE A NON-PROFIT organization doing the best they can. If you can afford a private pay $6,000/mo facility I'm sure they'll be more responsive. For a retired school teacher single mom 17 years post stroke our options are limited and we appreciate the care at Seven Acres!

The only reason I give this more than one star is because of the excellent programming with the Activities (bingo, bead making, art, grandparent's day, family activities, wonderful music programs, therapy dogs, and Jewish services). Other than that, there are only a SMALL handful of helpful staff/nurses/aids. The majority of them take a VERY long time to respond to patients needing help. For example, my Grandmother vomited down her chest and arm. I told the nearest staff who was in the hall, and she was not a nurse/aid, so she was not allowed to help with patient care, but she helped me stuff a sheet into her arm to soak up some of it and then she and I told the nursing staff that a patient vomited and needed clean up. I waited in the room 20 minutes with NO HELP. Mind you, they were not all busy with other patients. There were several nurses/aids sitting at the front nurses station. So, after 20 minutes of peeking my head down the hall to see if they were coming, I went down again to ask for help, and explained again (to the same people) that my Grandma was sleeping with vomit on her. The nurse did a half eye roll and asked another aid to go help in room xyz. Finally, after 30 minutes someone came and helped change her gown, her dirty depends, and her wet sheets and blanket (because they had not changed her depends so it had leaked). This is just one example of MANY YEARS of lackadaisical staff. There is very high nurse/aid turnover, and the majority of them (not all) do the BARE minimum, IF THAT. Sadly, from what I've heard, it seems that this may be the norm at most nursing homes, but I have only had experience with this one.

I was hired on to work here and everything was fine. When I was on my first week of training , I was told that unless I change my hair I cannot come back to work until I do so. This is discrimination at its finest. I am a black woman with braids, I was hired on with the braids and it was not an issue. The CEO of the company passed by me as I was doing training, did not acknowledge nor welcome me as a new employee yet had the audacity to whisper negativity regarding my appearance to another colleague regarding my hairstyle, I was extremely offended because if I were a Caucasian women it would be no issue, but because I am a black woman and we tend to have more versatility with our hair it s more cultural and different, and because of that I was forfeited from the position, and told not to come back with the hairstyle. Which had/has nothing to do with my work ethic or customer service experience whatsoever. I am disappointed because of the way I was treated. And would never work for this company again.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Sending a bill for my mother with no indication why A YEAR PLUS AFTER SHE DIED THERE should give you a clue about how understaffed they are. And their residents are underserved. Do not recommend.

Well, the overall impression was good, at least there is no foul smell unlike other nursing homes but, if you intend working here, they don't pay well like other nursing homes though they may lure u with benefits. Perhaps, because they are non profit org....

My great grandmother went here because of her broken knee to get help walking there and they were great while helping her. Good job people! Also a good jukebox (and very loud) with jewish music.

As a former employee, this is a good place to work. Am a Certified Nursing Assistant and i started my career here. Got hired without experience and trained to become a hotcake for hospital jobs. I left to start nursing school and after 1 year, i was contacted to come pick up my check for my unused vacation. I was impressed, i will definitely go back here to work when i finish RN School.
I also miss my residents, they were all amazing to work with.

My Dad passed away 10/15 - after living several years at Seven Acres (Dementia/Alzheimer's Wing). After seeing some negative reviews, I now am sorry I did not comment immediately after Dad passed regarding the exceptional and loving care Dad received. He was so well taken care of and truly, you could tell how much everyone cared about and cared for him. We did not notify them when we (my mom, brother, my son or my husband and I) were going to visit - so, there was no 'prep' time for them to get ready for us - so we knew he was attended to at all times. After Dad passed, we received a beautiful letter from the Administration expressing their condolences and it touched our hearts so very much. I believe in what they do - I know they are caring and I wanted to tout the unbelievable service they provide to the elderly.
