Second Harvest is real eye-opener it's hard to believe the amount of food that goes through there in a day 2 places that need to feed families. The volunteers that are there that help go through the vegetables and fruit put them in the boxes it's a lot of work they do. I was there for a class of 18 people and I truly loved it I will go back again.

Second Harvest does wonderful work for East Valley Baptist Church. They even bring the food for our pantry which is the fourth Saturday. We normally serve 90-100 families. You are welcome to come. Stay for a wonderful church service on Sunday at 11:00am.

Great place to volunteer - especially for Americorps members. All the people there are kind & very willing to give in any way they can. Working with the food is easy & not dangerous in any way. Plus, it feels good when you leave knowing you did something for someone else & 2nd harvest makes sure they recognize you for your contributions.

I was dropping off someone at chas clinic, their bus was there. After looking at it for awhile a helper came up and asked me if I needed some food, I said yes. They brought me some groceries, when I got home to unpack them I was astonished at what they gave me, it was as if they knew exactly what I needed, healthy food, I have medical issues, it was like I had gone shopping for myself with my medical conditions in mind. I can't say enough good things about the people and the service they provide to our community, bless them one and all.

Very clean and well run facility. We went for a food sorting event as a company. The instructions were clear and if we had any questions, they were quick to answer. A great time giving back to the community.

If you enjoy cooking classes, treat yourself to one at Spokane's 2nd Harvest. Their state-of-the-art cooking theater has twelve stainless steel stations and a beautiful kitchen complete with 2 screens over the stove so no one misses a move of the chef up front. I've been to 2 classes by refugees from World Relief and the food's been just great--Iraqi & Sudanese. Next is Russian. If you like ethnic food, you don't want to miss that! Put 9/20 on your calendar right now.

About Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane

Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Inland Northwest community for over 40 years. Their mission is to fight hunger and feed hope by bringing together community resources to provide food assistance to those in need. The Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane was founded in 1971 as a small food bank serving the Spokane area. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest food banks in the region, providing millions of pounds of food each year to people who are struggling with hunger.

One of the unique things about Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane is their focus on empowering people who are experiencing hunger. They believe that everyone deserves access to healthy and nutritious food, and they work hard to make sure that their clients have access not just to emergency food assistance but also to resources that can help them become more self-sufficient over time.

In addition to providing emergency food assistance through their network of partner agencies, Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane also offers a variety of programs designed to help people learn new skills and improve their overall health and well-being. These programs include cooking classes, nutrition education workshops, gardening classes, and more.

Another important aspect of Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane's work is their partnerships with other organizations in the community. They collaborate with schools, churches, businesses, government agencies, and other non-profits to ensure that everyone who needs help getting enough healthy food has access to it.

Overall, Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane plays an essential role in fighting hunger in our community. Their commitment to empowering individuals while also working collaboratively with others makes them an invaluable resource for anyone who needs help putting healthy meals on the table."
