Second Harvest is real eye-opener it's hard to believe the amount of food that goes through there in a day 2 places that need to feed families. The volunteers that are there that help go through the vegetables and fruit put them in the boxes it's a lot of work they do. I was there for a class of 18 people and I truly loved it I will go back again.

I volunteered at second harvest, packing boxes for Thanksgiving. What an awesome experience. The staff is very professional and super organized. Anyone with a couple hours to spare, I encourage you to spend some time here. This is a great service to our community.

Wonderful compassionate organization that does whatever they can do to make someone's life so much better! Their program Spokane Food Fighters is an awesome service to the community. I so appreciate this program since it is difficult for me to go out to the food banks with my disabilities! Thank for your help and dedication to the community!!

Great place to volunteer - especially for Americorps members. All the people there are kind & very willing to give in any way they can. Working with the food is easy & not dangerous in any way. Plus, it feels good when you leave knowing you did something for someone else & 2nd harvest makes sure they recognize you for your contributions.

I was dropping off someone at chas clinic, their bus was there. After looking at it for awhile a helper came up and asked me if I needed some food, I said yes. They brought me some groceries, when I got home to unpack them I was astonished at what they gave me, it was as if they knew exactly what I needed, healthy food, I have medical issues, it was like I had gone shopping for myself with my medical conditions in mind. I can't say enough good things about the people and the service they provide to our community, bless them one and all.

If you enjoy cooking classes, treat yourself to one at Spokane's 2nd Harvest. Their state-of-the-art cooking theater has twelve stainless steel stations and a beautiful kitchen complete with 2 screens over the stove so no one misses a move of the chef up front. I've been to 2 classes by refugees from World Relief and the food's been just great--Iraqi & Sudanese. Next is Russian. If you like ethnic food, you don't want to miss that! Put 9/20 on your calendar right now.
