This was our first stop on our Sonoma wine tasting day and we were glad it was first as it set a pretty high bar for all of those to follow. The tasting room was nice and the staff was very friendly. We were surprised by the wines and enjoyed them so much every couple bought a bottle or who to take home with them.
It is really close to down town so plan this place toward the end of your day and enjoy a dinner in downtown Sonoma.
We almost missed this winery due to timing but they were so nice to us. We walk in and are told that we can not get a tasting but they will let us buy a glass so that we can enjoy the wonderful evening outside. So they let us sample various wines until we decided which one we wanted to purchase. Call it Speed tasting.
The evening was perfect because we went back outside and enjoyed the wine at one of their tables as the sun was setting. It was a perfect end to day.
BTW, the WINE was awesome.
So come early and then enjoy the wine outside. there is no rush.
The cherry block 2013 that I tasted and purchased here was delicious and fragrant enough to blow away the wine common sense in me. Unfortunately, I can buy other types in Japan, but I can not find a place to import this cherry block, so I will revisit it if I have a chance to go to Napa.
The counter lady also responded very well, and the impression that he explained and talked more than Japanese wineries.
Had such a wonderful experience here. Great group of people. A favorite pinot noir of mine.
Very nice winery. Live music this Friday. Great atmosphere and great tasting! Really great! We want to come back every week :)
I cannot drink wine given that I am underage, does anyone know how to deal with back issues, I've suffered from back pains for most of my life now and neither I nor any of the chiropractors I have met with know whats wrong. Anything advice/info helps, thanks
Beautiful and highly recommended. Just far enough from the center of town to have a quiet and peaceful wine-tasting experience and it is still walking distance so that you can enjoy any of the local restaurants. Very open and accessible.
It's a winery. It's a gorgeous location and the staff is super friendly. We actually killed 2 existing wine club memberships to join theirs- it has a ton of benefits! They also offer some great dinners- so check out their site. Well worth a visit!
Amazing food pairings suggested with each wine taste.
Always a good time. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds. Shout out to Jesse for taking excellent care of us!
Had Fun, wine was fine. I enjoyed the history of the place and the one rather large, rather old, wooden vat.
We visited Sebastiani twice on a recent trip to Napa. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines and the excellent service. A very special thank you to the staff who found the purse I left outside at one of the tables. They went the extra mile to contact me so that I could pick it up with everything perfectly intact!
Oh my if my wife had her wish she would live here. Such a shame we can't get the wines here in the uk
Very nice people, your attention was wonderful. Today I visited them, I only intended to try it and ended up buying a box.
Great little local gem. Check the venue for social events
Love this winery I have been coming here senses I was a little one with my parents 45 plus years ago
Great place to hang out and have a picnic with a bottle of wine..
Great wine and pretty grounds. Make sure you see the carved barrels
The wine maker at ,Sebastian is one of best in sonoma/Napa. Co.try his cabernet.you'll be back for more.
Sebastiani zinfandel has been mine and my husband's house red for almost two years after finding it at Bevmo and then buying as much of it as we could for a stock. We joined the club in order to get a better deal, but did not stay members long. While I am a big fan of one of the chardonnays and we both love their Zin, the rest of the wine was not great. The tasting room is big as others have noted, but I found it inviting every time I was there and that the servers were friendly. Given its size and distribution levels, expect a corporate winery feel because it is one. Events at the winery were spectacular both times we went, complete with good food and plenty of wine. We left the wine club because aside from the chard and the zin, we really don't like any of the other wines. Good experience, not great wine.
Beautiful grounds . Knowledgeable staff. Excellent wines.
It is a great and beautiful place. beyesa.arqueolojica
Beautiful grounds and excellent wine, a nice place to relax with friends and enjoy a glass.
David Papkin Review of Sebastiani Winery. Previously friendly staff, Success gone to their head, Incredibly arrogant staff. 20.00 per tasting, waived per 2 bottles purchased only told promptly . Female Staff with f eastern European accent , kept us waiting 25 minutes for tasting even though not busy. , kept trying sell us club membership. Eventually we left without tasting and went elsewhere .avoid this winery, plenty other choice like Jacuzzi winery. End of David Papkin Review #davidpapkin
No stars. Waited for 5 minutes and was never acknowledged.
We absolutely love this place. The wines are fantastic. But most of all the hospitality hosts are incredible. Our host was very knowledgeable and so pleasant. We enjoyed the visit more than any other winery we visited.
We had a wonderful day here today! The service and wines with bites were top notch!! Lynne did an excellent job describing the terroir and giving a truly memorable experience of the Sonoma valley. We even joined our first wine club because hey, we can just come and pick up our wines!!! Shout out to Dave who came and chatted, too. As someone who worked in the valley (and Sebastiani) almost 20 years ago, I was welcomed with class and a touch of the quaintness I remember from so long ago. Also, wanted to give a heads up to bring cash and make sure you tip your wine educator. A wonderful experience and so excited to show our friends this tasting room close to home in the bay area.
Personable, kind and knowledgeable staff... and good wine!
Very friendly staff. The tasting room was spacious and very comfortable. Many options other than wine are available including chocolates, olive oils, etc. The wines themselves were not impressive. Great outdoor area with a fountain and picnic tables.
Service is not friendly so we left before tasting. Too many options around town to settle for poor service.
Phenomenal staff. And stunning venue. A lot of history and fabulous wine!
Great winery in Sonoma! We biked here and enjoyed a walk in tasting. Beautiful room with barrels!
Friendly, knowledgeable and beautiful location. Wines were absolutely delicious.
Beautiful winery. Beautiful tastes. My palette is on flavor overload. Made my vacation amazing.
Terri, our tasting guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
American farm but with evident, and not hidden, Italian and Tuscan origins. Excellent wines, the tastings made in the lounge with the huge vat, with the winemaker's calendar depicted in wooden panels, are very fascinating, it recalls the setting of our cellars a little. The kind and helpful staff tells the story of the family and the wines. Try, gently insisting, to ask to taste their best wines. However at home the flavors change, to be enjoyed on site.
Sebastiani produces authentic Zinfandel and Chardonnay is good too. Price are OK and the service is professional. The only imperfect thing is the Cabernet Sauvignon, which not taste so original.
They will be familiar ... we have the same last name that is not very common .. greetings from Argentina.
Possibly because it was our second to last winery of our trip, this winery did not hit the mark for us. Nothing specifically that contributed but average wine, average service, average atmosphere. In hindsight, would have skipped.
Wines were sub par, and the tasting room was cavernous and uninviting. Staff seemed bored and just went through the motions.
Says dog friendly, but they didn t allow our emotional support dog in the tasting room. Looked nice for the 20 seconds we were there though.
This is a nice old and rustic feeling winery that's been around for as long as I can remember. Nice place to visit.
Beautiful winery just a few short blocks walking distance from downtown Sonoma square. This winery is super dog friendly. The interior tasting room is spacious and comfortable -- you can taste standing up by the counter or stead at one of their big tables. There is also outdoor seating by their beautiful grounds and fountain. Definitely a great place to lounge and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
In terms of wine -- I liked their sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and one of their pinot noirs, but their wine is relatively simplistic. I wasn't a big fan of either of their cabernet sauvignon. Great entry level winery. If you frequent Napa/Sonoma, maybe skip this place in favor of something else more complex.
The staff was very friendly and gives you a few extra pours if you ask. I recommend Marvin, who is also their resident chocolate and wine pairing guy. He's super nice and will explain a lot of things to you if you're new to wine.
Very well run and welcoming. Staff was highly knowledgeable and friendly. Favorites included the Gravel Bed and Cherry Block labels.
I joined Sebastiani membership a year ago since I like to go up to Sonoma/Napa area quite a bit on weekends. The staff there is always mixed... some are very friendly and really explain each wine in detail. Some are just not very knowledgeable and just pour and leave.... I think they should improve their staff hospitality to retain their long term followers.
Their barbera was my favorite wine in all of napa and sonoma
My favorite winery! Great wines at a great value and poured by friendly experts.
Best wine club that I have joined. They always treat members and their guests well and you get privileges at other wineries owned by the same company for when you are in another region, like the central coast.
I first came here in 1973. It was fun then and is fun now. I highly recommend it.
Guided tour is missing, very nice place. Just tasting, very good wines.
Spent the morning here in July 2017 and loved it. Was our 5th wine tour in the area and enjoyed it the most, including ones well over triple the price. Wines pretty good particularly for the price point. Really enjoyed their Pinot and the Cherry Block Cabs. Side by side tasting is really a great way to learn what you like. Beautiful facility and vreat location.
Highly recommend.
Drove over an hour to get there only to find they were closing early for a special event. Very disappointed won't be back won't but ever
Food truck Friday was a blast. Atmosphere was great.
Beautiful winery with a friendly staff. You can bring your own food (enjoy Sebastiani wine) and dine outdoors in the cozy patio and picnic area Excellent wines that are reasonable in price for the great quality
Top notch service and THE heritage winery of Sonoma Valley. Can't miss spot for tourists and locals alike.
Every time we visit Sebastiani we have a great time. The setting is beautiful. They have picnic tables out front and there are lots of grassy spots if one desires a picnic (or has little ones who want to run around). They have lots of varieties of wines, which is great for a group as there will be something for everyone. The staff is mostly really friendly and knowledgable. Occasionally (if it's really busy) you might get a pourer who is flustered, so that's when you buy a bottle and head outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. This is also a great spot for lunch. Some wineries won't allow you to bring in food, but this one is fine with it. The location is really close to downtown as well, so you can walk if you're staying there or ride bikes.
Omg you have to taste alexandre s merlot everything is Great here
Good winery, some very good wine and the other one just ok. My complaint would be that it's a little snobby and you actually get better tastings and treatment at other wineries in Sonoma. I've been to quite a few and I wasn't impressed with their wine tasting service, specially when they said "this is Memorial Day Weekend and we're too busy" huh? I'll go back only if I have to, I did like the wine though.
