The report took a week to be emailed to me, which was well past the time I had to make a decision to buy the boat, so the inspection was worthless because of this. The inspection report, when it did arrive, was full of errors. They did not know the make of the 6hp Tohatsu OB motor, even though the cover had been taken off and put on the deck to inspect the motor. They did not record the registration number of the boat. They inspected and then forgot to include the V-sheet, signalling mirror, bilge pump, and many other things. They also said the fuel tanks and battery were not secured, which is wrong. They also said there was major structural damage to the hull because the soles are made of plywood and there is rot in parts. They said the deck moved underfoot - that's the point - Seawind 24's are meant to be light. They said there were no oars on board, when they are clearly visible in the photo of the dingy in their report. The inspector didn't seem to take any notes. He came aboard with a moisture meter and a phone. He did not know how to use the moisture meter, and much of the moisture he found was because the setting on the meter was incorrectly set to a cored boat. Seawinds are fibreglass only for the hull. The inspector is not registered as approved by the government. When they finally sent the report, they recommended I have a 15-minute call with the surveyor, which I wanted because of the numerous errors in the report. I have not heard from them, and have not had the call. They are definitely a scam outfit. Do not use them.
