Visited for afternoon tea yesterday and was somewhat underwhelmed given its five star status. We had the champagne tasting afternoon tea in which all the champagne was served at the same time meaning it ended up being warm and not particularly enjoyable. The afternoon tea itself was nice however the selection of sandwiches was disappointing. The most disappointing element of the experience was the service, the waitress rushed through our order and brought everything at once before never being seen again! We had to go looking for a member of staff to ask for more jam and drinks! Food was tasty and the refillable drinks was a nice added bonus however the service was disappointing given the five star stature of the hotel.

My wife and I booked an overnight stay at Seaham Hall recently, including dinner in the Dining Room and use of the spa. The booking was through the website and was part of a deal (check regularly!). We've visited the spa on a few occasions but wanted to stay over and enjoy some great food.

I think we'd booked a junior suite but upon arrival, we were told we'd been upgraded to an executive suite which was amazing! The room was faultless: spacious, comfy and with great views (sea view from the bedroom). Check in is 3pm but the staff are happy to keep luggage from 12 noon when the spa is available to package guests, so we could take full advantage of the time in the spa.

The spa itself is fantastic, never too busy and always relaxed. Two saunas, steam rooms & hydro pool plus the outdoor jacuzzis and the main indoor pool. Lots of treatments are available but we didn't try any this time.

The Ozone restaurant is great for Asian dining (we had lunch there) but the Dining Room was amazing for the evening meal. The menu does change but there's plenty choice, even for a relatively picky eater like me!

Overall, the staff are friendly, very attentive and helpful, the spa is very tranquil with plenty to do and the food is fantastic. I can't fault the place!

We spent 4 hours enjoying a beautifully prepared and presented afternoon tea. Very relaxed setting and friendly attentive staff. I would love to repeat the experience soon and would highly recommend to others.

Generally uninviting, food in the fusion restaurant was excellent but breakfast was mediocre and the service was nothing special. Nice guy on door as we left but, others were not exceptional for the price ticket, highly inflated. Would not go back.

Lovely modernisation of an old building in some very well maintained grounds. We were here for a wedding and the staff did a fantastic job. Prices are at the higher end for the area but that is to be expected. Shame they don't make more of the setting, a row of trees screen off views of the sea! It's still lovely to enjoy a drink in the gardens though.
