A little pricey but has a great choice of food: amazing deli sandwiches, all you need for sushi, ready made freshly cooked meals for one or more, good English grub. And of course the quintessential laid back Marin atmosphere.

The perfect local grocery store - they have an amazing range of all the local staples you ll need, a stones throw from the door of your house.
Like a few local grocery stores around Marin they also have a half-decent selection of snacks and candys from other international countries. If you need your fix of Maltesers, Smarties, or Vegemite - this is the place to go.
Prices are what you would expect from a smaller chain, you will pay a little bit more than going to a more generic store like Safeway, but the service and location more than makes up for this.
This place is the little secret of Terra Linda, they have everything you need plus a lot of gourmet items from around the world. Their bakery and delicatessen are incredible! Well worth the drive out of your way.
This is for the delicatessen part of Scotty's. Came here a couple of times and ordered the Santa Fe sandwich. Both times it cost $9 plus some change all together.
Had this sandwich a few times from Scotty s and boy did it leave an impression on me. Here is Scotty s a small local grocery store with an equally small delicatessen. What can come out?
Well this sandwich closed my pie hole real fast. This sandwich consist of chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayo, and a green chile on sourdough bread; all for $9. $9 can buy me a meal from other sandwich places but Scotty s also put my money where my mouth is as well because this sandwich was crazy good. CRAZZZZY GOOOD!!
They piled on this chicken breast like they knew I was broke after buying this sandwich. Yes, $9 isn t much but since I meal budget, plan, and prep these thoughts come to me frequently. It comes piled on a average size slice of sourdough bread. It may look small, yet it does pack a punch of flavor. When you have the sandwich right away the sourdough is toasted with the mayo slathered on and the cheese slightly melted. Then the green chili adds a nice zest and texture to the sandwich. The quality of ingredients is pretty superb, something I shouldn t expect less from a deli but being around San Rafael quality of meals are questionable at times.
This sandwich makes me come back for more and I want more, I NEED more! If only my bank account can get it together. This is definitely worth a sandwich worth trying in San Rafael. Good job Scotty!! ^^
Good sandwiches. Good fresh bread. Very good meat. Good cheese. Good all the way around. Lots of meat and you can taste the cheese. Very good fresh swiss cheese. Highly recommended the roast beef and swiss sandwich with light majo.
Scotty's is a neighborhood gem that is worth traveling for. Their meat and produce are high quality, but they excel with their deli salads, sandwiches, breads and pies. Try their turkey cranberry salad or wild rice mango salad. The service is friendly without fail. Enjoy.
Good old fashioned market great deli and catering hot foods good produce . Very good sushi take out and press packed salads especially Chinese chicken and Ceasar chicken . Roasted salmon and marinated shrimp on Friday very good too
It's a local supermarket that has quite a bit more than you'd expect! Scotty's has been around for years and it is great to support a local and homegrown supermarket!
Been shopping here for 20 years. Went by to pick up some non-dairy ice cream. Superb deli for everything from sandwiches to full-blown catering for parties. Barbecue during the summer. They have free popcorn to nibble while you shop. The only negative is they're not cheap.
Like they say - biggest little market around. Great place, amazing deli, super friendly and extremely competent staff. They make you feel like family here.
Neighborhood institution. Pleasant place to pick up those things you need between big shopping trips. Good quality produce. Have some surprising unique items on the shelves. They are will to try to try to stock some items if you ask. Friendly folks.
Very old and run down market but still trying to sell like its a wholes food market. Very pricey.. when there are way better options just down the street..
Scotty's Market makes the best sandwiches! Their deli has more variety of meats than anywhere else I know of. Salads! Wow! Always a variety of fresh salads and sides. The store has all kinds of other items and hard to find stuff too. It is worth checking out! I go there once a week.
Always amazed how this small market seems to have everything. Have used their catering for parties. Make their own sourdough. Pick it up still warm. Best!
Nice little market that has an artisan deli. Variety of nice pastries along side a bunch of cheeses. Very friendly staff and decent prices for quality food.
I have been buying my groceries at this great small neighborhood market for 25 years approx. and always enjoyed the friendly assistance, quality of products as well the well organized items presentation. The best part has allways been the free fresh pop corn available by the vegetable stand... love it
The friendliness of the staff is what makes Scotty's market so wonderful. The prices are a little high and the products are limited, but for lunch or dinner they have a great variety of grab and go items, salad bar, hot food deli and sandwiches made fresh to order.
Great neighborhood market in between a corner store and a supermarket. Great deli and overall high quality on produce, coffees and teas, cheeses, beverages, breads, etc.
Very small, 100% meant for people that want to support local businesses. Prices and selection reflect that. If you buy things every few days, and don't worry as much about $, this is more your store. If you buy groceries to last a week or two, and are trying to save a buck, maybe not the best place.
Scotty's is one of the few remaining family owned, independent markets still going. It has one of the best delicatessens around and the baby back ribs on the weekends are amazing. If you're looking to stand in line forever, go to the big chain store down the street. If you are looking for a killer deli, awesome produce, and the best customer service going, then do yourself a favor and go to Scotty's!
For where it is I suppose they think prices are reasonable, however if U are from Marin before money then they are rather pricey, they do however have a section of imported goods, which around holiday time comes in handy if U 've no way out to other shops
