We recently had a large group of 16 gather for lunch on a weekend, which would normally require a set menu. With numerous food allergies amongst the party we contacted the Restaurant manager who was able to ensure that everyone was accommodated. It was beautiful weather to sit outside and listen to the musician. A great day was had by all and we will be keen to come again another time.
Food, wine & service was amazing. View is incredible. Thank you for a beautiful day yesterday.
Put shortly if you are on the Bellarine peninsula and you do nothing else, drop in at Scotchmans Hill. Visiting the cellar door this morning was one of the best experiences I've had. Greeted by Liam in a warm manner and then given a tasting experience that really opened up my mind as to what Scotchmans Hill had to offer in terms of regional wine.
What a great find , we were driving through the Bellarine Peninsula and decided to try Scotchmans Hill out
Delicious food , great wines and wonderful staff
Lovely spot, but disappointed to find the wine I purchased for $42, was $7 cheaper in Queenscliff IGA. Cellar door sales shouldn't have such a mark up.
Wonderful wine tasting at the cellar door. Hanna was so helpful and friendly, and her wine knowledge is fantastic (she s great at picking hospo workers too! We got the five star treatment). Can t wait to cone back for lunch.
Very disappointing. Made a booking for a wine tasting, sat down on the couches where our group were told to sit and waited... and waited. Finally a girl came over and said "I've been sent over, what do you need?" Had to tell her a wine tasting, she gave us sparkling and she never came back. A second girl came over ten minutes later, gave us another round of tasting and then she vanished as well.
We all decided to then order lunch and continue tasting afterwards, the food took over 75 minutes. No one came to see to us, we had to flag someone down for an update on our food.
Very poor service, wouldn't recommend visiting this winery on a long weekend. If you do, don't plan on visiting other wineries the same day, all your time will be wasted at this winery.
Second time this year, outstanding venue. Great wine, live music again, something Collectors sounded excellent, made us stay for one more! Def recommend this spot, don't get down there much but when we do, this is place. Love it.
Awesomely experience. Friendly service. Great ambiance. Fine wines. Delicious antipasto platter.
Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing wine!!! Cannot recommend highly enough. The views and fresh air plus the atmosphere. All 10/10. We did a tasting and they were so helpful and informative on everything we had. Then to top it off got some incredible ploughmans boards with the best of the local cuisine!
Seriously if you re reading this you need to get up now and go to Scothmans hill!!
Im not a bloke that leaves reviews but this place deserves it. From the city views to the whole setting this place is on the money. Our sommelier Liv was fantastic and made the day
Fantastic wine great scenery and fantastic friendly helpful staff. 10/10
Warm welcome on a cold Saturday for a lunch seating.
Great food and wine, with excellent recommendations from the staff.
Fantastic tasting experience. Liam obviously knew what he was talking about and was very enthusiastic. 10/10, would come here again!
Worst service at cellar door - it was absolutely shambolic, condescending and plain rude. We walked out two wines in to our tasting and decided not to complete a sale of a box of wines which was our original intention (massive fans of the Chardonnay)
Second time there.
Food was again excellent.
Only complaint was that music was stopped after the second song so that a group could have a outdoor wine tasting.
This should have been conducted away from other patrons, who would have like to listen to the music.
But will go again.
Great wine, friendly staff and fantastic venue. The perfect spot for your wedding or next function!
Great spot
Wine is excellent and recommend tasting with Liam who is very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines
Food was good too
Just enjoying a nice bottle I picked up last year. Back in Scotland now.
Fantastic food and service. Very friendly staff. Stopped in and had a cheese plate, dessert and some wine. Could not fault it!
The iconic Scotchman's hill winery is always a must visit for serious wine lovers, boasting an impressive collection of both red and white wines. The Chardonnays here are impressive, but it's the Syrah that sold the show for me, simply gorgeous red.
Great tastings run by knowledgeable staff and the biggest surprise is the huge amount of outdoor seating available if you and friends just want to get together get a bottle and some cheese and just relax.
Stunning setting, great ambiance with acoustic guitarist/vocal duet playing in the background. The staff were engaging and attentive to our every need on a busy Australia Day weekend. .Food did not dissapoint with our table enjoying an array of beautfully presented, fresh delicious food. The wine meets its fine reputation . We were looking forward to catching up with friends over a meal and it went beyond our expectations today . So lucky to have such a great venue close to Geelong . Very pleased we booked a table in advance. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
Booked for a group of ten a month ago for a special occasion, attempted numerous times to contact the venue to add two to the booking no response. Upon arrival received attitude eye rolling terrible service upon any request. We had booked for wine tasting, the lady that served us shoved the wine list our faces and said you don t appear interested you can read this. When ordering food we asked for advice for servicing suggestions and were told we had enough food, when the food arrived there was only enough for half! Terrible terrible service, very unhappy!
Worst service I have ever received. Felt unwelcome and unwanted
Appalling service. Booked a table for ten but staff were so disinterested and rude. Recommended food was nowhere near enough for the group. Save your money, would never go here again.
What an afternoon! Went in Jan to celebrate the New Year, and what a great start to 2018. Staff were friendly, chatty, and very knowledgeable about the wine. And not even their own wine, but able to chat about wine in general and all over the world. Fingers crossed they start doing venue hosting for events, because it's just a stunning place. Great wines. Bought a few and very very happy!
The location is pretty, the wine tasty and the tasting advice friendly and helpful. However we were keen on some lunch, yes it was a busy holiday time but the tables were only 70% occupied and we were still told a one hour wait. Would have rated higher without this frustration.
Scotchmans Hill, CABERNET SAUVIGNON SHIRAZ is the best value for the price ever tasted. give it a try & keep me posted!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great location. Awesome food. Friendly service. Not expensive
Outstanding set up and service for Bastille Day inspired Dinner.
My senior parents thoroughly enjoyed dinner there and were extremely confident with the precautions and coordination displayed.
Well done and good luck.
Please do more dinners as you have nailed the service!
Disappointed! Waiting over an hour for our food. We booked a table for wine tasting and were totally forgotten about. I had to ask for a complimentary drink. Will not return.
Not a great experience, when we walked in only one staff need to handle the wine tasting and also the restaurant. Feel kind of ignored, so the wine tasting just taste the wine in a rush and without too much explanation. Then the other staff come to help very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine.
We did the wine tasting. The lady that served us was really friendly and helpful, and the Moscato was the best I've had.
Great spot to stop off and taste / buy wine. Fireplace and comfy seating and great staff (and wine)
Not a great experience. You get charged $10 to taste 5 wines. The sips we got were minuscule and because we were restricted to 5 wines only, we jumped around the wine list with no explanation from the woman pouring them. We each purchased bottles of wine in order to waive the tasting fee. The wine I bought cost $42, and I later saw it sold in a bottle shop for $30. At the restaurant glasses of wine were set at retail prices and I paid $14 for a glass of the same wine I d just purchased. The food was okay but on the disappointing side for value, and the service was slow and inconsistent. Plates weren t cleared on our table for half hour after we finished eating and when we asked if we could order dessert we were told the kitchen had already closed.
We had a lovely casual lunch platter and expert wine tasting with Liam. The views are amazing across the bay to Melbourne. This place is great value and gives great service.
Friendly and helpful staff. Had a great wine tasting session here. Great wines. Really liked the Cornelius Pinot Gris and Scotchmans Hill Late Harvest Riesling.
Lovely wines, however waited 45 mins for a cheese platter and the service left a lot to be desired.
Fantastic wine and good wine tasting. Friendly staff members. Loved their buttery Cornelius Chardonnay, went very well with their freshly chuckled oysters. Definitely coming back again.
The lovely Ruth went out of her way to ensure my Mum got her Mothers Day gift delivered on time. Super helpful and thoughtful - thankyou so much Ruth!
Had a lovely summer day with a big group of friends after a booking at another venue fell through. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and the wine, cheese and food was outstanding. Highly recommended
Greatest Winery, Wonderful staff, Great views, Fantastic wines, my favourite winery..had a fantastic lunch, paired with the right wine.Service was outstanding..
