DO NOT get yourself involved with SAA youth footba...

DO NOT get yourself involved with SAA youth football! We as a family, have volunteered our time, money, sponsored this poorly run organization. I volunteered as head football coach of the Pac-10 featherweight team after they decided to split up 28 kids because the senior coach thought he was going to the superbowl and didn't want to have inexperienced or smaller kids on his team. Low and behold, after several injuries throughout the year, both teams had to forfeit due to lack of starting players. What a way to have our dollars maximized, mostly to disappoint our kids because they can't play.
The SAA treasurer is completely incompetent and extremely rude and arrogant. I will post emails later once I get them in order to substantiate my claim. We as a family and I as a responsible coach, decided to front the money for an end of the year party, which I knew we were going to be short due other families either not participating or having lack of funds to contribute. After the year was over and after our party, my wife and I contacted the treasurer to get reimbursed. For over a month and several emails with no response at all, we had to send one last email, threatening police action if we don't get a response. He responded within a half hour.
Mind you, we have sponsored for two years, volunteered for the concession stand, holding chains, scoreboard, the list goes on and he couldn't give us 5 minutes in over a months time to respond? Inexcusable!
During the year, we paid $60 for 3 SAA caps and handed the check to the commissioner. While trying to get our reimbursement, they claimed we never paid for the hats and we wouldn't get full reimbursement due to non nonpayment of spiritwear (the spiritwear lady happens to be the treasurer's wife by the way). After going back and forth with him and calling us rude to the spiritwear person, we had to give him a copy of our bank statement to prove we paid, which we had. How is the treasurer confused about who paid? This is his job! Do they not run a tight ship? Do they not keep up their books? In any case, not good. After giving him the copy of the statements to get our $60 out of the $337 they owed us, he rudely accused US for not helping him and being confusing and rude to the spiritwear lady (his wife) which I have emails to prove otherwise.
How many times can you tell someone you've paid, how you paid and when you paid. But we made it confusing....?
During his emails back to us he was extremely rude calling US idiots, putting blame on US for lack of communication, called me a bad coach (I do need to improve on my first year), called my wife a bad team mom (more volunteer work), mocked myself and my families money that sponsored SAA by calling it a joke.
Is this what you want to be a part of?
The commissioner was CC'd on all these emails and wouldn't even step in and offer some type of resolution on the issue at hand. Not one word.

Feel free to learn from your own experience but also feel free to learn from our educated and paid for experience with SAA youth football. We also to date, we've yet to receive our full reimbursement. The season ended in October...

If anyone from SAA wants to disagree with this review on this site, step up. I have no issues giving saved emails to the public making it quite transparent.

I've had nothing but problems with this organization. They frequently use a field next to my home, which wouldn't be that bad, but there are cars parked bumper to bumper up and down my street from about 6am to 6pm at night making it impossible to get out of our own driveway much less have friends/family or emergency vehicles room to pass or access the homes on the street. I have made multiple complaints due to safety issues as well as the large amount of cars breaking the local noise ordinance, but they have ignored all emails and calls my neighbors and I have made. Some weekends it's fine, but suddenly there will be a weekend of games with no warning to the people who live where the SAA is having people park. Please stop letting people park on the side roads, it's dangerous to the kids who play soccer at this field as well as the residents on the streets used. Thank you!

If you want your child to be belittled, talked down to and screamed at SAA is the correct fit for you. Of your child isn't perfect then this is not the correct fit for you.the coaches won't give out the commissioners phone number. It's always a run around. Today I will be going to the police department. I think this place is an absolute joke. Also, favoritism is something they struggle with.

SAA is a fine organization ran by VOLUNTEERS. When you as a parent sign your kid up for a sport, know that you will have some responsibility to make the program work. If you are a coach, you need to step up and take responsibility for the entire aspect of your team. Everything is your responsibility from the players to the team mom and all the way down to the volunteers you rely on. If things didn't go well in your season, you have no one to blame but yourself. In this world you shouldn't set an example for the kids of relying on others. Step up and take control and be a positive influence for the kids. You can't just deal with what you want and ignore things or people you don't want to deal with.
I have been a part of many different organizations and leagues through the years and believe me NONE of them run smoothly. All you can do as a parent or a coach is the best you can. Don't belittle people on social media as I'm certain that every story has two sides. The only person that looks bad in the end is yourself. These programs are all about the kids, or at least they are suppose to be. SAA has some problems yes, but show me a strictly volunteer program that doesn't.
