I just got off a call with the rudest SC State employee on the phone for medicaid. I hung up on her. She over talked me, she made assumptions (goes w/over talking someone) and she got very defensive due to her lack of ability to listen, instead her imagination ran off with her unmindful-self as well as her prejudices toward me.
Sad.
They denied me saying I was missing paperwork which I mailed!! How irresponsible! Can't even keep up with the mail and now we're still without insurance. No fax information.
My mother passed and I am now in charge of her estate. I found the federal government if you're receiving services from Medicare or Medicaid will go back four years trying to recover money from the estate.
What a joke of government agency. I asked if I could fax my application to them, with all my household information, including ssn's and when they can't find it they tell me oh sometimes they get lost. So you mean to tell me any joe, bob, or sue could be running around will our information. Not only that, now I must wait an addition 2 months because I am having to reapply. I think its high time South Carolina set up and put into action a system that actually works instead of this out dated one they are working with.

Apparently your employees are trained to be unprofessional and hang up on people, I could understand if I had been ugly to someone but I was not and treated as less than a person. Thank you Cynthia for showing a lack of compassion and not an ounce of professionalism.
If you work for the government, be it state or federal (We The People)...your primary duties are to provide assistance and help people. Most if not all of you are just running through people in need of assistance. 'Next!' If you feel overwhelmed and underpaid, then you don't deserve to work for the government. As a nation, we need people that see their government job as a duty for the people and not just a job.
