This is the view from the middle of the rear dress circle. This seat was sold as a restricted view but I couldn't work out exactly what the restriction was as I saw the whole performance without straining my neck or leaning forward.

9to5 is a great musical. It is easy to follow, great music, and the cast was incredible.

A friend and I went to see Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 and even though we were in the Grand Tier (Third Balcony) we had a very good view as you can see from these pics. The venue is very easy to find and once you walk in you literally go up a few steps then you are level to the balcony. We went during when David Hassellhoff was making a guest appearance and he didn't fail to deliver. It was absolutely amazing and very funny!

Great location with unique technology that wowed me during the show. I couldn't get over how stairs descended, moving floors, new backdrops appeared, etc. ; all within split second.
Also an easily accessible location - only a few minutes walk ftom Charing Cross Underground.

Another magnificent London theatre. The Savoy opened in 1881, built by Richard D'Oyly Carte for his Gilbert & Sullivan productions. Rebuilt in 1990 as a home for great musical revivals. Over 1100 seats in 3 vertiginous levels. Masterful productions recently included Imelda Staunton in Gypsy, Dreamgirls, and 9 to 5. Not to be missed!

Had a laugh with family and friends at this show, adapted for the stage from the film of the same name. Great view, great facilities & great service from the staff, even ice cream available at the interval, just like you used to get at the cinema when I was little. Bar has a great range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and great range of snacks as well.

January 2019: We saw the Dreamgirls and loved it! Phenomenal singing & performances. We also opted for the VIP lounge & bubbly (which we don't normally). It made a huge difference to our visit since the VIP lounge was very personal, lovely seating, snacks and excellent service. At the intermission, drinks and snacks we again waiting for us at the same table as before the show.
Within the theatre, we were stunned at how ornate every fixture and fitting is. Every door, every hallway - beautiful. We've included some pictures. The only thing slightly negative was that the sound quality seemed harsh on the ears. Perhaps a little shrill at times. We were in the Stalls, row L, about 5 or 6 rows from the front, just about eye level with the stage. All in all, we loved our visit but may choose a seat a little further back next time. The theatre is quite small so being further back would not spoil our enjoyment.

One of the most exciting productions currently showing at the Savoy Theatre is Pretty Woman: The Musical. It tells the story of Vivian Ward, a Hollywood prostitute who falls in love with wealthy businessman Edward Lewis.

Some notable productions include Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton; Dreamgirls featuring Amber Riley; Funny Girl with Sheridan Smith; Legally Blonde with Sheridan Smith again; Guys and Dolls featuring Rebel Wilson; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Robert Lindsay; Carousel featuring Alfie Boe; Follies with Imelda Staunton again - just to name a few!

You can also find information about upcoming shows on their website along with details about accessibility options for those who require special assistance.

Apart from hosting some amazing performances throughout its history, what makes Savoy Theater stand out among other theaters is its unique architecture which was designed by C.J Phipps back in 1881 when it first opened its doors as one of two theatres built by Richard D'Oyly Carte (the other being Royal Opera House). Its exterior features ornate carvings depicting various scenes from Shakespeare's plays while inside there are beautiful murals painted by George Frampton which depict different scenes from mythology.
