Hagia sophia Musem is one of the museum's which you wouldn't know much about it unless you are there with a guide. But truly it is an amazing place you know the history and how othaman empire converted the church into the mosque and then now they are taking out all the conversions and bringing back the old church art. But its a must go place if you visit Istanbul.

Such a beautiful relic of the combination of two different beliefs. Great to see the restoration attempt underway. Hope to see it when it is finished one day. Excellent choice for a day outing, surrounded by a local square providing for a great environment.

Hagia Sophia Museum which was previously a Cathedral in the Catholic Roman times. Then once the rule of the Muslim Ottoman Empire began they preserved the place of worship and converted it into a Mosque, erecting up many minarets. The place is now a museum, such a beautiful building with so much history.

This whole area is undescribable, it's a a place of civilization, history, and just much much more, once you get to this city you will start feeling the magnitude of what it's like, all the books you read, a the history the names you read about, you will only do that if you decide to make the trip and visit, now yes there are lines , yes it's pricey but , with all of that its still worth visiting the whole city and seeing everything it has to offer, just keep a smile on your face, and be humble, those ppl are just trying to make a dollar, I used no thank you and smiled , it worked just fine, the place is loaded with police and security, if you feel the need

Hagia Sophia is probably one of the main masterpieces of Islamic architecture. The mosque has a very rich history and is a very complex structure with lots of different rooms and spaces for different activities. It is also very high. There's a way to get on the second floor inside and see the ground floor from new angle. It's under renovation, so hopefully soon we'll see it in new light.

I could've skipped this place. There wasn't too much to see in it. Plus there were many visitors and an admission fee. Unless you have a religious connection, there really wasn't much to see here. Around the area was nice to walk around, which was more interesting than inside the Hagia Sofia itself.

I cannot repeat this often enough. A must first thing see in Istanbul before everything. It is a divine holy and spiritual place worth 1600 years almost. We have taken prior that a guided tour from the app Get your guide with Istanbul Tourist Pass, where Ozcan was our guide. The tour was very infomative and knowledgeable.

Beautiful Museum. It is worth paying the entrance fee as it is an authentic jewel with an ancestral heritage. Do not forget to visit the upper level as it shows a wonderful view of this former temple. It is a must if you are in Istanbul, can't miss it.

This was absolutely serene and beautiful to be at. The structure, the history, the lights inside and the incredible detail were breathtaking. I felt blessed to be inside such an incredible structure. The history of the Hagia Sophia is awesome and I highly recommend the Hagia Sophia to anyone that visits Istanbul.

Probably one of the oldest buildings I have ever been to. This well preserved historic building is one of the main destinations for tourists visiting Istanbul.
The autumn sun is a powerful boost to the pleasure of visiting this place and enjoying the surrounding gardens.

Most probably you know Hagia Sophia was built as a church at 500s. But it was destroyed by the earthquakes twice time. Thus is the third one and the best. When Istanbul was concured it was converted into mosque. After about 400 years it was converted into a museum by Ataturk. Now it is a nice attraction to visit in Istanbul.

Amazing place to visit. So much history. The crowds can get long so look into getting a fast pass. There is construction inside right now so be ready for that. Overall an amazing place to see and experience. An absolute must if you are in the city. It is also closed on Monday s. So if you are booking tours make sure to take that into consideration.
