Magnificent interior showing both Christian and Islamic style as the building had been used for the different faiths over its 1500 year history and its great to see these together. The design is breathtaking. It gets busy so arrive early. There is a fabulous light display with fountains outside in the evening, so good to visit the interior in the day and return early evening to soak up the local atmosphere and to sample the corn on the cons from the street vendors and each while watching the display.

You should visit it if you are in Istanbul don't miss it but highly recommend to get a vip ticket otherwise you should come early to avoid waiting in the long queue. If you want to relax after that you should visit Seven Hills restaurant it has an amazing panoramic view where you can see Sophia mosque and blue mosque and the sea.

Very beautiful old church/mosque. Amazing architecture and attention to detail. The building has also been well preserved, giving you a feeling of traveling through time. It is a very crowded tourist site though. Go early to avoid crowds.

Such a beautiful monument/museum with an even more incredible history. You can clearly see both Islamic and Christian influences in the architecture and designs. According to our guide there were even influences from other religions in the designs!

The structure is huge and imposing. It is highly advisable to take a guided tour as there are a lot of snippets of information which will make the visit even more engaging.

You will surely get stunning photos of the dome/ceiling and the gold gilded room in the corner.

It is very accessible through the tram line.

One of the most beautiful and fascinating places on earth. Really good to visit! Can't imagine what this would have looked like all those years ago when it was first built! Still in awe of the place and the way the Muslims preserved the Christian history here.

Definitely a must see in Istanbul, the architecture is just stunning. We were there late in the evening so there were not that many people still in the mosque. The lighting was beautiful and just underlined everything of the beautiful building. It was definitely worth a visit and will stay in your mind.

It's worth coming to Istanbul just for Hagia Sophia itself. You can truly feel the 1500 years of history when admiring the interior. It's quite interesting to see Christian and Muslim decorations just next to each other. Do visit the upper galleries!

This miracle of architecture is a must visit not only for Greeks but for everyone. The ticket price (100tl) is reasonable. Many areas are open to the public including the galleries with the precious mosaics. Very nice video projection outlining the history of the place.

I don't understand what the fuss is all about.

I don't understand what the fuss is all about.
It's like an open corridor, with windows and a high ceiling.
Dolmabahce was so much better and more fascinating.

The lines were impossible! Even the fast track line ..
No shade, not even an umbrella and the sun is scorching hot.
