Great staff. And yes, the "Homeless" are there(and everywhere in Santa Cruz), but the staff are not cops and are probably constrained by how much they can do. Still, it seems like someone who is passed-out in an aisle could be 'encouraged' to sleep elsewhere. Avoid the bathroom if you can. But I think this library is great, despite the "homeless" issue.

People in Santa Cruz are lovely and friendly.
There are many suitable motels where you can stay to relax and also restaurants that serve healthy organic food.

I like the people a lot but it seems to have removed nearly all the history books. They used to be tons of them and about three-four years ago most were removed. I asked and was told new person in charge of book selection. Pretty good when looking for Science Fiction books.

The geneaology room is a comfortable place to listen to music and read a magazine. The library has a good selection of news magazines and books. The staff at the information desk are helpful when seeking resource information. The benches are a comfortable place to sit down and eat. It is very hard to get access into the restroom

Libraries are amazing places full of wonder! The Santa Cruz public libraries are some of the best in the world. You can find almost any book, and if its not available you can request it and it'll be brought to your closest branch. There are many resources available, from computers to laptops, etc. Visit one today.

That's a good library... it includes bathroom, water, wifi, many desks and phone chargers, power socket, printing services and other.
There are some weirdos (it's Santa Cruz after all), but the library called security on the weirdos who misbehaved, so that's good!
Open 7 days a week!! (very useful on the weekends!)
