San Francisco Maritime National Park Association Review

There's so much to do in this area. There's Fishermans Wharf, Ghiradell Square, and the lovely cable car. A great place to go with your family: just watch out for the bikers.

IT IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO MY DAUGHTER HE LOVES PLAYING IN THE WATER THE VIEW IS INCREDIBLE. WE VISIT IT VERY FOLLOWING.

The San Francisco Pier is still the same people!
But this time, I feel that law and order has become bad!
Also, when the street breaks the window, take the people inside the car on the spot!
So remind everyone not to put valuables in the car!
I won't cry!

Great place to get away from the craziness of pier 39. Or maybe go for a swim!

Nice park, distance from alcatraz makes you think of the prisoners that escaped that rock maybe they did make it.

Living near the sea, I did not regret a bit that I visited this place! The size of the ships, history, artifacts, magnificent scenery and all this for 15 ye! Be sure to come and pop your collection of fond memories!

Really good place to take a rest. You can see many kids plaiying and walking on the beach.

Apart from the museum itself the overall setting of the place is brilliant. A beautifully developed waterfront you can soak up the sun absorbing a beautiful view of the waterfront and Alcatraz island!
Worth every second you invest here

This museum is a great quick little stop for a few minutes. The scope of the museum's purpose is well covered. Little plaques throughout give fun little stories about the area.

The submarine was intriguing and the ship was big. The history was there as well. The telescopic lens platforms were broken so we got a good look at Alcatraz without paying a cent.

An accidental find. Small, free, with clean restrooms. Quaint exhibits about SF waterfront and maritime history. Loved the lighthouse lens, lightning rod, and eagle gargoyle.

Our kids (7 & 9) and us loved exploring the boats and exhibits here. They have hands on exhibits which the kids enjoyed doing. Some of the boats they have restored are from the 1800's which is quite impressive for an ocean ship that gets some much wear and tear. The park rangers were very informative. I would recommend this place for anyone who is visiting the San Francisco area and hasn't explored this before. We easily spent half a day here between the visitor center and the exhibits on the pier/ boats.

Lovely park with of Street parking. Lovely view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz is visible. All of this underneath the massive lit Ghirardelli sign from Ghirardelli Square. Sirens time here just watching tube go by and right next to the Powell and Hyde cable car terminal.

Amazing place for a stroll. Lots to see. Make sure you see the associated museums as well as the visitor center. Lots of old photographs of the city.

Spent a magical evening singing sea shanties as the fog rolled by outside.

Aside from a few of the ships being closed for repairs, this was a fantastic place to visit. The displays were educational and entertaining, and the access was amazing, you could go almost anywhere. Views of the skyline are incredible.

Interesting place to visit,not crowded,Navy folks will enjoy

Nice and easy atmosphere, easy access to the tidal beach.

The price is right and the history and views are tremendous; the building is a fascinating piece of architecture.

Great spot to walk to the end of the pier and look back onto the city skyline

Beautiful beach, great people watching. Have a walk out on the pier, too, for great views of Alcatraz and San Francisco.

Beautiful place. Sit along with waves or swim along. Great place for small groups on weekends.

There ares some interesting things to look at but not alto. I thought it would be more. The murals are fun.

I love walking on the Aquatic Park Pier. The views towards San Francisco are stunning and if one gets lucky seals or other maritime wildlife may be spotted.

Great place..beach outside for a walk. Also, a senior center with many activities.

It was an incredible day. One of those Daisy dream of in San Francisco where it's warm sunny. The Rangers very friendly and explains a lot. You just have to ask a question.

Greats views, you can hear the ocean. Good spot to chill. You can always spot swimmers. The human kind. The seals are a bit further down the road.

Wonderful. Go there to experience singing authentic sea shanties in the hold of an antique ship!

I attended the 4th of July festivities at this location. There is much to do on this day. There were live bands, street entertainment, pier 39 and the beach.

Field Trip (tall ships) was great! Crew was awesome

As you walk or bike along the scenic shoreline between Fort Mason and Fisherman's Wharf, you pass through this park area. It's not really a destination park unless you're going swimming. There is a museum here that I've never visited.

Very informative about San Francisco history. Great for kids.

It's a fantastic place to enjoy the ocean and take in the views of the city. Ghirardelli square, the cable car stop are right here. You may also see the Salesforce building!
I liked the view of the Golden gate bridge much better from the municipal pier than other locations.
