Having seen gardens throughout the world, this is by far the best. There are places to relax, and vegetation from around the globe separated into plants representative of continents, redwoods, children's garden, lakes. It is spectacular. It would be great if the city acknowledged the incredibly huge amount of money they have made from taxation recently and go back to not charging people money for it.

Gorgeous place to visit whether on vacation or if you live in the city. Residents of SF get in for free (you can even just show a screenshot of a utility bill if you don t have ID). It s not too crowded, has plenty of space to hang out on the grass and a bunch of amazing species.

Very nice spot in Golden Gate Park. Perfect destination to bring out of town visitors (Mom, Grandma) and never too busy. If you visit around lunch time, be sure to bring stuff for a picnic and sprawl out on one of the lawns.

Beautiful garden with lots of variety. There's lots of winding paths to around and enjoy. They do plant sales every Saturday with beautiful and healthy selections! And for a very reasonable price too :)

Every city I visit I make it a priority to visit a botanical garden. And San Fran has definitely one for the books. The feeling of being surrounded by nature is an indescribable one. The trees, just leave you breathless. I could spend hours here.

A wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Even when most flowers aren't in bloom, it's lovely. Plenty of benches, open space for picnics, nooks amongst the plants, even an area where a wedding was going on. Highly recommended.

At first I wasn't too excited about going to the botanical garden since the NYC botanical gardens hasn't impressed me much. The San Fran Botanical Garden blew my mind away. Beautiful, refreshing, and relaxing atmosphere that you can walk through any day and not get bored from it at all. Some attractions are quite costly so we did not get into them. We decided to just walk around a bit and call it day instead of paying for attractions. After visiting the San Fran Botanical Garden, visiting NYC's Central Park was just not impressive at all. The San Fran Botanical Garden is so much better.

So peaceful and nicely manicured with all the different flowers and trees from regions around the world. You can spend hours in here checking things out and lounging on the grounds. February is when the magnolias bloom and they have tons of varieties to see. While sitting is the best time for seeing all the plants in bloom, any time is great. Do a little picnic here and you won't regret it!

Beautiful gardens you can get lost in because it's so huge. It is a little pricey for the entrance but there are free days on certain holidays and once a month so it's totally worth to check it out then.

This is a must go place for anyone. From locals to tourists, catch this garden on a beautiful day and you'll have some great memories. Keep a keen eye for some birds, for some hide from the eye yet of you see one they are gorgeous.

I was not expecting it to be this awesome. Great place to walk, exercise a bit, and feel nature. Or just relax under the shade of a beautiful tree. Before we knew it we had spend over 2 hours inside looking and exploring, admiring nature, and we didn't even explored the whole place! It was great.

Lovely place to walk and enjoy the scenery in the middle of an urban jungle. Definitely a hidden gem worth spending a couple of hours getting your steps in. If you're a member of any other garden/arboretum style park in your area, check to see if you get free entry! Los Angeles Arboretum members are eligible and it's well worth the visit.

If you are a botanical enthusiast, this place is a must visit. The fragrance plants section was really good. You can touch the leaves of the plant and smell them to get some really good fragrances.
