Gentleman on charge was very friendly. I brought two left skates for my son by accident. He let my son use a pair. Service like that, that'll keep me coming back. Thank you.

After moved to San Diego, This is the first place i take my kids to spend a day. Lovely place and my kids enjoyed the day.
Spent a lot of time here. Not as a skater but working on the ATT cell site that is on the grounds. Staff are very friendly, everything is very well maintained, especially the ice.
It is a great place to skate and learn different things about hockey/figure skating
Get your hockey or figure skating itch. Stay cool and have birthday parties. So much fun.
Nice staff that teaches
you, nice food court, nice location.
masks required inside building and probably around the parking lot, depending.
great people, doing everything they can to keep things clean, safe and healthy for people addicted to being on the ice :)
any questions? call 'em
I went there for my first time skating! It was embarrassing to fall in front of people but it was cool and fun. Not lit because the ice would melt and I'll stop there.
Its pretty good here but make sure you ask for sharp skates. There have been multiple times where I need to change out my skates cause they give me dull ones. A bit pricey to get in, it used to be 10 bucks now its 14
It's a really fun and great place to go to, its affordable, The food lounge has vending machines, and the food there us great. And the ice skating area is very big.
Jose is a great party host, he interaction with kids is excellent.
Fantastic Place. Well organized with a huge rink. Nice instructors and people who run the place.
Big ice skiing ring. Have good ice skating instructor that can show you how to ice skate. Super cold inside make sure to bring a thick sweater. There is bathroom and rentals here. Parking is free
It's great fun for the family. Great place to learn to ice skate.
I learned how to Figure skate in this arena. As an adult, over 60 years old, I needed all the help I can get. The coaches who teach adult classes are very friendly and have lots of patience and they make it fun for adults too. There are private lessons with great coaches for a fee.
The best time to go for public skating is on Tuesday night, and between 11:00 and 2:00 on Thursdays and Fridays.
Birthday parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays, so children are everywhere. If you decide to go Saturday or Sunday, wait until 2:00 PM when most children are tired and start to get off the ice. Check their website for public skating schedule.
Best place for Ice Skating in San Diego! 8$ for 1 hour, skates included
Ice was a little splotchy. Very clear tracks where kids had dug their skates in. The service of the employees on the ice was impeccable though. No one ever fell for more than 2 seconds before being attended to.
My favorite ice rink in San Diego. Easy to find and park. Very nice and friendly staff. Great for kids birthday parties.
The public session was very entertaining with DJ booth right in the middle of the ice rink. Dancers and games were there as well. But the rink seem little bigger than NHL size, perhaps Olympic size?!?
Great place for all ages. Nice staff and even better prices. Going back again very soon.
Place is somewhat hidden, but overall it is a good facility.
It would be a 5 star If I knew how to skate, but nonetheless it was very fun
Super fun with kids. Workers all seemed exceptionally nice.
Great skating for the public. Nice selection in warm Cafe.
Very Crowded, and they close the arena in the middle of skating session to have a birthday celebration on the ice. I liked the fact that employee comes and helps ties shoelaces - it is important for laces to be tight
The staffs are very kind and you can be their friend very easily, they ve treated me like everyone else.
Place seemed dirty and old, but we still had a good time.
Public skating, hockey, group and private lessons available.
Always great time. Lots of coaches available for hire to teach from children to adults. Ice is in very good condition.
Fun. Fun. Fun.
Yes it s cold inside. Parking is covered and plentiful. Storage lockers available. My kids love the teen night, they meet up with friends there and have a great time. Staff is friendly and watchful.
great help for beginners, also a great place to pass time with friends & family
Great for location to be able to skate however there are times when a few of the younger hockey kids are in the ice and aren't as careful. Keep your eyes out on the rink!
Great rink, just missing a few amenities. Bathrooms could use some clean up.
When I was younger, i went to my friend's bday party there and the staff took me at the end for practice my skating and left me for about 20 minutes. I was crying until a lady showed up and took me back to the way out of the arena.
We moved from Las Vegas and this place is way nicer Sobe or Las Vegas Ice Center. The public skate is great for the kids, and the cafe has very good food.
Cold but so fun and say to get you and your kids energy out
I have been to many ice rinks, but let me tell you, this one is the best!!!! I have been to the San Diego ice arena well over 500 times and have skated for 5 years. They have wonderful kind staff that help you if you need help. Plus there classes have the best coaches. If you want to have even more fun at this rink, I recommend that you skate on a Friday night from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. During this time there is a DJ in the middle of the rink and instead of having normal lights on, they have disco lights!!!!! You can request any music you want at the DJ. They zamboni the ice at 8:45, then at 9:00 they have a snow ball fight, which is really fun. I suggest you bring an extra pair of gloves for after the fight! Thank-you for taking your time to read this, I hope you will skate at the San Diego ice arena!!!!!!(=
My son has played Hockey here for 3 years great place for kids to learn to play.
Went for a birthday party, they entertain the kids and take care of everything. Great place, great time!
Good prices (especially with groupon), convenient location.
Bring your jacket. That ice freezes the whole place. Great to watch the grandchildren. Bring a seat mission, and a blanket. Sharing your blanket is best.
Granddaughter's Birthday Party lots of fun great place
Good hockey leagues and best price in the city. Great public skating for kids.
I am disgusted with this ice arena! We went to a military event and was told kids who wore size 6 and up can go ice skating. Our daughter wears a size 8. Okay fine so we go excited. Our daughter could not stop talking about. Come to find out that they only do size 9 and up! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So disgusted that nobody gave us the right information! Won t go here again! Disappointing and disgusted that we weren t given the right information in the beginning. If we had been told the right information we would haven t wasted our time!!!!!
So crowded, little kids everywhere. Would not recommend public skate. As an alternative go to utc ice for a fun experience
Had a great open skate up until the end. But, the response from the staff was great! Caring, attentive, and fast.
One of the original ice arenas in SD county, very well-established and a good competitive travel hockey program. Also has a nice bleacher for viewing. Check out their website for open skate times. Helmets and skate assistance devices available as well as the standard fare. Pro shop has a moderate selection but it's nice to get a sharpening from guys that know what they are doing.
Tuesday night skills and pick up is a great place for new adult hockey players to develop skills and learn the game. Good bunch of players and coaches.
Hands down the best place to have a birthday party ever. Today I had my cousins 16th birthday party at the San Diego Ice Arena. From the MINUTE we pulled in, we were greeted by our party host Jose. He sat down and had a 1:1 with my cousin and got to know him. He knew how to connect with a 16 year old (which we all know isn t easy) and got to know him a bit. He also had a big white bag signed by him to give to my cousin to put his presents in. They decorated the bag with markers. Excellent idea! He then greeted all the guests and started an off the ice lesson for everyone including adults. It was fun. Next we went in to get skates and then he shows us the box where the birthday party group would be. Then, surprisingly he helped everyone put on skates and even tied the laces for kids and adults. He made EVERY person feel special, from the youngest (3 years) to the oldest (50 years old) by taking them around the ice once making sure they felt comfortable. The birthday boy had some special things on the ice, and had some dance parties. Then the swept the ice and had everyone come off. Then he gave all the party guests cheese-its. Then back on the ice again. After the skating, we went up to the birthday room where the food and drinks were already set up, played our own private games facilitated by Jose and everyone had a blast- kids and adults. Then we got a special visit from the Ice Cube (spelling?) mascot who game and hung out with us. Took group pictures and then ate. Food was also incredible. Highly recommend the fruit trays! All the party stuff were super helpful and had excellent customer service. Lastly, my cousin got to decorate his own cake (sour worms, m&ms, sprinkles, icing, etc. That was fun. They served cake and ice cream bars and made a special book for the birthday boy. Thank you to all the employees who made this day super easy on me and were so helpful. A special thank you to Jose for being an incredible, energetic party host! Everyone loved you and couldn t stop talking about how much fun it was! Jose worked nonstop pleasing all the guests the entire 4+ hours we were there. I would highly recommend this place and JOSE as a party host. We will definitely be back!
Good place to take ur kids.. look out for groupon deals. Its fun. Loved skating on ice after having skated for years on roller skates
My son was used to have Great Coach with Geoffry Varner, He is so professional and wonderful for my son:) We did jumped two group level after we moved to san Jose. In the meantime, Ms Wendy Smith is also a great directors for student and guest in ice Arena. Coach Michelle Ford and Clara are both great coaches ... we miss San Diego Arena, If your child love to go iceskating, this is really 7 star place to adventure with very reasonable price !!! We love you Geoffry Varner, you just great man!
Super fun and not too expensive. The staff does a good job trying to keep family skating time fun.
We had our company Christmas party and an excellent time at the San Diego Ice Arena!
Great hockey programs! The coaches do a great job and the facility is one of the best in San Diego. This is the only rink I know of that has a full set of bleachers for the parents to sit at. All the other rinks have uncomfortable stools or you have to stand. The facility is one of the older ones in San Diego but, they've been making upgrades and the newer facilities don't compare. They even have an electric Zamboni!
I have always enjoyed coming here. I just recently had a girl scout party here and a birthday party for my own daughter. We had a great time both times
This place is great for the kids my son goes for jockey on Sat mornings just the public skate prices are a bit high for large families.
