Amazing! Nothing less than an exceptional experience throughout each exhibit. Not only is the art separated by time and place, the enough of pieces set for viewing is more than you can count.

The pictures I'm uploading do not do it justice. You have to experience this place for yourself. I am in awe at how amazing and old some of the stuff in there is. I would surely go back and recommend all people to visit at least once. 5 stars mang!

I am still amazing by the massive art collection at this museum. The collection rivals the art museums in any major U.S. city and I highly recommend everyone visit this place. Located along the riverwalk, it is highly walkable and easy to access by food from downtown and even more so from the pearl district. Set aside several hours or likely a day to visit this great museum. Easily the best museum I've been to in San Antonio.

This is an amazing museum! HUGE and with so many artifacts from across the world. The permanent Oceania exhibit was a favorite because it was all new and unique to me. The traveling American Impressionist exhibit was beautiful, fabulous and so much more meaningful with its American scenes. Absolutely introduced me to things I d never seen before. To truly enjoy each museum section and observe the details, you d need a full week at least. Coming from Dallas, the contents of this San Antonio Museum of Art blew away all my expectations. Absolutely a gem!

We went straight to Chihuly Persian ceiling when we arrived!! Entry looks like it's a small art museum. However, the 4 floor wing contained amazing pieces including a kneeling woman piece approx 5000 BC. A mandala. Great local Texas art exhibition too. Definitely more sculpture, objects than paintings.

I've been to San Antonio a number of times over the year but this was my first time visiting the art museum. This place is amazing. Such a wonderful and diverse collection of art. Exhibits are professionally displayed across four different levels. Staff was very knowledgeable and professional. This is a "must do" item on your itinerary while visiting SA.

The visit here wasn t a first visit for me; however, after a year or so I was quite impressed! The sculptures were beautifully laid out - in the Classical Mythology Cupid is the meaning of passionate desire, affection, and attraction.

If I had known better when planning for a single day trip in San Antonio, I would spend all my time at the San Antonio Museum of Art. The collection spans over 5000 years in history and comes from all over the world. In fact, to fully appreciate each and every item, I doubt if a week would be sufficient to cover the four-story twin towers of treasures. The entrance is plain and down-to-earth, but man, I did not expect I could find well preserved potteries of 3000 BC at this place (to put it at scale, that's 5000 years ago, versus the 300 years old Alamo/Missions). I wish it will continue to be well maintained, well protected, and well funded.
