Good selection
Friendly staff
Fun shop and definitely check out.
Great classic candy shop. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Wonderful shop in the Village of Rhinebeck but they NEED a handicap accessible entrance as well as many other shops in the village. I helped a lady out of a wheelchair into the store as her companions were unable to assist her...
Cute shop but the layout is terrible. The line to order and pay is where all the candy is so it makes it difficult to look at anything.
It s a sugar palace
Nice folks
Awkward seating but ample
Coffee is average
Staff is super friendly and mostly teenagers
Nice family oriented place
Paid 6.75$ ( large cappuchinno & almond milk) to get a hot bubble bath of milk not enven slightly foamed. Before over charging for coffee, learn how to make it!
Great staff and there vanilla hazelnut coffee is the best I have ever had!!
Excellent customer service. Terrific & Tasty product.
They are good here, but their prices are outrageous. I paid almost $9 dollars for a bag of candy and two chocolates. Would recommend going to Kraus chocolate shop because it s just as good and about half the price. To put it into perspective, a bag of gummy bears at The Kraus Shop is $1.75 for a decent sized bag and a bag of gummy bears at Samuel s is $4.95 for a much smaller bag. Why go here and spend double as much when you can go elsewhere and spend half as much for the same quality? Came here because I m a huge Walking Dead fan and Ant Man fan, but I will not be returning. How can a candy shop owned by millionaires be more expensive then a family owned business who most definitely has nowhere near the amount of money as the owners of this shop. Wouldn t be complaining if it was the best candy and chocolate I ve ever had, but it s no better than Kraus. This is an example of a shop that only caters to people from the city. This place is only adding to the displacement of the working class people in upstate NY. Bring this shop down to the city where it belongs, along with all of the other citiot shops in the area.
Classic candy store from your vacation strip vibe. Nostalgic and pretty delicious assortment of candy. Staff was super friendly.
It was nice. A little pricey & small. I was planning on having food but it was too warm in there.
Better today. 6/25/17 A/c was on & very busy.
Great place, wonderful people and fantastic candy and hot drinks.
Fun little candy shop. Had a lot of the classics you just can't find anymore.
Old fashioned candy shop, carrying hard to find candy etc from long ago
Bought some yummy treats and sipped on a delicious cup of coffee. Great place to stop and visit.
Loved it and on top of controlling the flow of customers due to covid virus.
Stopped in to Samuels just to try it out since I've heard so many good things and what I've heard was true
I brought in one of my clients and he loved the shop he had a peanut butter cup the size of his fist and he always asks to go back
I however am not much of a sweets person but I devoured the candies I purchased and the lavender cookies I purchased for my fiance were amazing
It is a little pricey so expect to pay when you walk in but the products are very good
Great little store, wonderful selection of candies and sweets as well as coffee.
I made the stop as a fan of TWD and was quite taken by the charming town. The candy store is wonderful! I found many fun treats. The staff was so very helpful and friendly too! I'm so glad I took the time to stop in!
Great Store! Great Staff!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Absolutely amazing place with great prices and the nicest staff ever
Fun place w/a huge assortment of candy and good coffee
Like a dream. A really perfectly flavored dream. Every bite perfectly balanced . Every element delicately makes itself known.
Very lovely, staff is friendly and helpful, selection is diverse and intriguing. Everything sounds good! Can't wait to go back and try something new!
All the candy you'd ever want and yummy coffee drinks. A bit pricey
Tiny space with a lot of character. I wouldn't expect to see the celeb benefactors, but DO expect to see some great treats!
Cute little store selling candies, special coffees and YooHoo!
I've been shopping here long before famous people bought the place. Since the change in ownership, little has changed though, and it remains an awesome place. The selection of candy is crazy, and they offer so much more. Try some of the baked goods they carry from Matchbox Cafe. Samuel's has the best coffee in town. The staff has always been fantastic. I've never had a bad time here.
Cute place but the coffee wasn't that good and the staff were very unengaging.
Candy from the olden days. Great coffee. Good vibe. Staff is so friendly.
Way overpriced and stale candy. An actor from the Walking Dead co owns it so it does draw a crowd. Completely overrated.
We always stop by when in the area! Great place with a great selection and friendly staff!
Dangerously delicious everything! Super friendly place with the best of the best options, their licorice laces are incredibly tasty and fresh, the variety of cotton candy flavors is crazy! The pb and j cotton candy and their cupcake cotton candy are ones for the books! and dont forget the icecream treats that are unbelievably good.
A Perfect Punch-Line, Ant-Man & Negan walk into a candy shop, who says OhSnap! First? I am 200mi away but have ordered online before, sweets addict and more than happy to toss my dollars to Mr. Rudd and Mr. Morgan. Mr. Morgan's interview on Howard Stern is what convinced me to order!
(FYI, the OhSnap! is a sly reference to Avengers Infintity War)
Appreciate the few vegan options: mint cookie, pumpkin muffins and candy kittens! Loved the tea options!
Sweet Shop for the Rich and Famous. I say this because they re the only ones dumb enough to pay triple the price for candy and confections that can be bought elsewhere for less. But hey, you might get to meet Ant Man so I guess that makes it worth it.....
Very cute little shop. Great location. Very clean and great vibe inside. Delicious cookies...my little guy loved it!
I had the "real macchiato" it was very tasty. I can't wait to try the ginger biscotti! Excellent service! This little shop has everything that your sweet tooth would desire!
Safety precautions are followed CLOSELY here. Expect to wait outside to get in. However... the wait is worth it! Staff was friendly and the selection was really great. Highly recommend!
Your coffee, your sweets, all the treats, none of those things are yours anymore.
Your Candy Shop..now belongs..to Negan.
Great selection of chocolates and candy, good place to get a coffee as well.
Best cafe and choclatier in Rhinebeck and Northern Dutchess
My BFF and I take Sunday adventures and today it took us to Samuel s sweet shop. We were welcomed with great energy by to lovely young ladies. (Whom had the best character of all the stores we visited) Enjoyed our beverages and a little throw back seeing some of the candies from back in the day. Thanks for a great adventure destination!!
Seems like a really nice quaint shop, but my experience was horrible. The kid at the counter doesn't seem to care about customers and doesn't know how to make coffee drinks. Most of the items here are packaged and prepared chocolates which More
Good selection
Friendly staff
Fun shop and definitely check out.
Such nice people and great selection! Even did up a gift bag for our candy. Very much recommended!
This is a great little candy shop, and I'm not joking about it's size. It's barely 8 feet wide and guests squeeze on by each other trying to order and pay. The staff are always friendly and they have candy or coffee options anyone can enjoy. I always leave with more than I plan to buy. It all too good.
Samuel's is the best place to stop by and get a treat plus a hot drink.
Are you kidding me? They were selling pumpkin pies from Deising's bakery in Kingston for $24.95. Deising's sells them for $11.95. Scandalous. Have they forgotten that people actually live in Rhinebeck and are not just tourists?
Friendly staff, and just enough sweet stuff to make it worth the trip to go over and see it. I would not describe the Sweet Shop as small I would rather say that it's cozy. Well lit easy to find right in the main part of town on Main Street. It is definitely some place that you should stop and say to fill the hole in your sweet tooth. Plus the fact that Paul Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Morgan on it makes it even cooler to stop at.
Such great coffee (Partners). And of course, you feel like a kid in a candy store...
Specialty coffee drinks are good... Huge selection of childhood candy favorites and homemade chocolates and desserts...and service with a smile...fun and unique shop!
Delicious chocolate , amazing coffee, even some childhood memories, staff ever so pleasant .. what more can you ask for...
it's going to be Heaven for you if you like sugar products. delicious and the staff is outstanding, very friendly and helpful!
What a sweet, quaint place! Tight squeeze! Lol The prices seem a little high but it really is delicious, locally made goods!
What a beautiful area this quaint little sweet shop resides in.
Awesome candy and coffee shop! Great selection with even some vegan options!
Great selection
But a bit pricey
Small shop in heart of Rhinebeck. Nice little getaway village to visit
. Everything about this place is amazing , excellent service , Julia
Staff was rude and stand-offish as soon as we walked in. Guess we didn't fit the usual customer profile.....Staff was extremely rude to my mother. After we made a purchase. My mother was walking out while I was still near the register and pulled down her mask to eat a piece of the candy. Staff yelled "excuse me please pull your mask back up." My mom said "oh sorry, I was just eating a piece of the candy." Staff replied "well there's no eating in the store." In a rude tone. While another customer chuckled at my mother being yelled at. It was a very very unpleasant situation. And if it occurred before my purchase I wouldn't have spent a penny in that overpriced store.
Cute, quaint and delicious. Specialty candies are a blast and the old school candies are a blast from the past! The frozen drinks are blazingly good. I didn't get to see any superheroes that day but that's the fun of visiting. It's all a chance. Still worth the trip though.
Chocolate truffles was the best I ever had surpassed Adams
Place is perfect. Friendly staff in a historic and charming town.
Paul Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Morgan kept this place from closing and the while community is thankful for it. This traditional candy shop opened some over twenty years ago and the owner died but these guys bought it and kept it running the same as it had for years. Thanks for keeping a gem of the community alive!
Great service, lots of great candy options, chocolate is amazing and the town was super cute
