Such a wonderful and fun experience for the whole family! Everyone can learn to dance Salsa from the kids to the adults. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Not only did we bring our oldest son here to learn how to dance Salsa 7 years ago, but we've alo brought 2 nieces and three of my cousins. And now it's time for our youngest son to learn at 11 years old.
Oh and it's where I learned how to dance about 20 years ago and also where I met my beautiful wife about 14 years ago. So you can really see how special Salsa Heat Dance Studio has become to our family.
The instructors are great! Loved the classes and the socials, but the receptionist, the brown haired lady which I think is the wife of the italian guy who runs the place, is very rude and unwelcoming. Please put a smile on that woman's face! It seems like she hates being there.
Well, my story would be a little long. As I can see, all people have great experience joining Salsa Heat, but not me. The instructors may be professional dancers, but very bad teachers. They don't try to motivate you to stay, dance and move on to next level, so as I can see, everyone struck in Beginners 2 and then give up. I guess the instructors don't want to teach large groups in intermediate level class so they get rid of you quickly in Beginners 2, not trying to motivate and encourage you, they just point to your mistakes and turn you dow so rude. You can survive only if you are hispanic and have no sense of being humillated. That's Salsa Story.
Bachata story is even worse, so I had to attended bachata class at another location (I live 10 min from East Orlando location). Ashley is terrible, pointing at the ladies with no partner with terrible comments like : "Well, bring your partner'", screaming all the time. I did not know that partner would be a problem, for her info I am married, but my husband had a stroke and he is not allowed to dance.
Constant changes of instructors every week is ridicilous.
The girl at the reception desk is another story. Her English is questionable, so many times I had to repeat myself at least three times until she figures out what I am asking her. No smiling is common.
The price may be good, cheap for numbers of classes and benefit to social, but all other things made me go, go, go away.
Not the most professional environment. They have the habbit of cancel classes on the spot without previous notice
I love it . It's a lot fun . the teachers are great
It was pretty nice, not too crowded . More evenly spaced los of women ready to dance. Ran into some friends that I haven't seen in awhile. Going back next friday.
It's been a while since I took lessons but it does come back and the instructors are patient as well as understanding. Classes are fun and experience with different people is helpful.
It's clean and some of the instructions are awesome.
I ve always wanted to improve Salsa dancing skills, so I took a class at Salsa Heat, starting at the beginner s level I. I previously had purchased their entire DVD Instructional collection (including the Bachata DVD) and reviewed them, I was not challenged in the beginner s level I classes, so I asked Mike (the owner that I've known before he got married) for an evaluation and was given the green light to move on to beginner s level II. This experience was over a two class period.
I practiced dancing with my niece using the DVD lessons. Before you knew it, my nephew and friends were also interested in learning, so they purchased a Groupon ticket that I was not aware of, so I did the same.
When I showed up for Saturday classes with my group, I was told by Mike s wife that I could not use the Groupon, since I had already attended two classes. Unfortunately, she was correct and I take ownership on not reading the FINE PRINT. She said she could not honor the 10 classes and would give me 5 instead. This little episode and her lack of tactfulness, in front of my family, created some customer dissatisfaction issues needless to say I have never returned for the rest of the classes, so my money was wasted (they expire 180 days after purchase also in the FINE PRINT). I occasionally show up for the Friday or Saturday socials, but I always feel uncomfortable attending due to that episode and have never taken any lessons with them since. Word to the wise: Read the FINE PRINT.
I didn't know how to dance at all. It's amazing how much I have learned so far. The classes are fun, the instructors & entire staff are so nice and welcoming. You don't feel out of place even though you don't know anything. They teach you with such precision and patience. And you can't beat the price! So if your thinking about taking classes but are too nervous or shy, please go! You won't regret it.
Great atmosphere!
Many cultures join in this place to dance and spend a pleasant night! Highly recommended for all types of people!
Enjoy
The teacher was awesome and they seem to want to help as much as possible with anything you ask them. And, you let them know when you feel ready to level up.
If you need to learn how to dance Salsa the right way this is the place for you. Amazing classes, amazing teachers and the best dance floor in Orlando. Classes are divided between beginners, intermediate and advance. No partner needed. In class you rotate between dance partners that are in the same level as you making learning comfortable and fun.
Mika and Karen have put together a wonderful ballroom that I dance at monthly. They also offer beginning to advance dance lessons in Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. The have satellite studios in Maitland and Kissimmee. Karen has a large selection of dance shoes.
I've attended classes here off and on for a couple years. They are great! The salsa curriculum is well thought out, the instructors knowledgeable and more than capable, and the atmosphere comfortable and not intimidating. Their socials are fun, a great option to take a date, and a perfect t place to hone those new skills and talents!
Wonderful, professional instructors. They make learning to dance fun and break it down so you can learn easily. LOVE IT!
Horrible customer service! Don't even bother wasting your money here. On their online FAQs it says you can ask to join an intermediate class if you have prior experience. Im from Miami and have been dancing salsa my whole life. But even after explaining to the front desk that my boyfriend and I have taken several private and group lessons together and would like to begin with intermediate level classes, he was very rude and refused to let us join the class or the later social event. While we practiced the basics in front of him which he asked for as proof that we knew what we were doing, he didn't even bother looking at us and minded some other tasks to ignore us while we waited on a response. I'm very disappointed in you Salsa Heat. After reading so many good reviews, I was excited to come out and have a good time but you all just ruined my night. I'll take my business to other salsa dance club, thank you.
Great spot to chill and have a great night with partner or friends
My wife and I have been taking classes here since 2005 and still going :). I have had little breaks here and there and every time I come back I am reminded how much I love salsa dance and the people at the studio.
We also had them do a lesson for everyone in our wedding party and rented the Maitland space where we also take class for our reception. Our wedding reception was amazing as a result. Everyone was dancing and people who did not know each other were able to get to know each other prior to the wedding at the dance lesson so it eased everyone in together. Could not be happier.
I have been taking classes with Salsa Heat for years. This year I started going to the location on east colonial. I absolutely love the instructors on all levels and the friday socials gives everyone an opportunity to show off the weeks lessons. Knowledgeable and kind staff. Meet friends and possibly even more ...wink.
My 6 year old is currently taking kids classes and I go to their Salsa and Bachata classes. The teachers in the kids classes are very kind and patient with the little ones. I look forward to the adult classes every week. I highly recommend them :)
Excellent place, the teachers are super nice and those of us who love Latin music is the perfect place to learn and enjoy the class. The place is beautiful and they have different offers to take classes. Try it and it sure stays.
If you re trying to learn how to dance and take your first steps into salsa and bachata the way it s danced at what we call socials, then this is the place to go. Almost all newbies to the Orlando dance scene have started their dance adventures here. Nice large environment, friendly staff, good instructors. Multiple Monthly dance events with tons of attendees
Great Teachers, great environment and you get to practices your steps on social days! at the same time you have fun and exercise. Very professionals!!
Excellent dance studio with friendly, competent instructors and private party venue as well. If you are looking for a fun way to learn dance skills, socialize in a safe clean environment, this is the best place..... They are resuming classes and social events after the pandemic shutdown, so it's a good time to visit and participate.
Wonderful dance studio. The instructor was very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Definitely going back.
I heard good things and I also went to a social event and I liked it, so I bought the Groupon. But heads up, if the class starts at 7:30 and you're running a little late say, because you needed to stop get gas, just turn around and go back home. They will not let you in and they are not very nice about it either. Note to management, don't put unhappy people who don't like their job at the front desk.
Beautiful venue to celebrate all your special occasions. Modern & classy. Affordable!
Great Salsa place with wonderful, detail-oriented, and humorous instructors! My friend and I feel so happy whenever we come here for lessons. The instructor I am having for my Beginner 2 class, Eymar, (I am not sure I spell his name right) does not only teach us the techniques in great detail but also share with us wise philosophical advice on how to let go of anticipations so that we can relax and enjoy smooth dancing. This place helps you become a more beautiful person :-).
