Lovely theatre which shows national, touring productions on the main stage, and also local, more experimental plays on a separate smaller stage. I've seen many plays here over the last few years, and they were all fantastic.
Comfortable tiered seats, lovely staff. Sometimes has live bands in the foyer. Booking online available, parking free after 6pm in the central car park just behind the theatre, with a few disabled parking bays directly outside the front door. Good selection of drinks and snacks available, and a small selection of main meals before the shows. Only a five minute walk from Salisbury town centre. Salisbury is only a small city, so we are very lucky to have such great entertainment. Well worth a visit.
There is something special about visiting Salisbury Playhouse; I really enjoy it each time I go, and the performances are always wonderful with stellar cast. Last month I went to see Her Naked Skin, which was powerful and poignant, and last week I saw Abigail's Party which was just mesmerising as well as hilarious. Treated myself and my companion to a glass of prosecco at the interval too! Definitely worth visiting, you won't be disappointed whatever you decide to see.
Loved it, great theatre, great amenities and great production.
Brilliant place fantastic Panto, lovely staff and great atmosphere. A real gem!
Very nice staff, also very reasonable prices for drinks.
A brilliant night at Blood Wedding, excellent cast, great set and brilliant staff
Visited the panto. Salisbury is a lovely place, lots to see.
The wicked witch played by Helen Colby was outstanding.
Now in its last week.
The Playhouse is just great. An intimate theatre with good facilities.
Brilliant venue with different stages, both large and more intimate - wonderful range of events, straight theatre plays, musicals etc reasonably priced and tons of parking
Very bijou theatre.cosy.enjoyed the play, the audience appeared to be appreciative and knowledgeable.first time for me at this theatre, I will be quite happy to go there again,if anything in the promised brochure interests me.nice staff,v.helpful.
Very well organised while we go through a extremely strange time, felt very safe with excellent social distancing while seated.
Jack and the Beanstalk. Excellent professional pantomime
The Christmas panto that they do every year is brilliant and it's always been one of the highlights for me and my family at that time of year.
Go every year with our grandchildren.
Always very professionaly done.
Fabulous costumes, well produced, fun for all.
Always a pleasure to go to the play house.
Went to see last day of the panto. Beauty and the beast, fantastic production real family fun.
Great Shows, comfortable auditorium, relaxing food and drinks area...we regularly travel from Bursledon well worth the trips....
Wonderful regional theatre with a great range of productions from original drama to touring productions and a great panto. Also check out the many small productions for children in the Salberg studio.
Convenient parking, easily accessible. Seem a couple of productions there and they have been excellent.
Always friendly and welcoming. Love the pantos and shows they put on.
Visited Salisbury Playhouse this morning to see our daughter & her school class perform. The venue was very clean & staff were friendly. The ladies room was very clean too, but the safety strap on the baby changing table was broken & needs to be fixed. Thank you.
Helpful friendly staff; a good view even from the back row; but not giving 5 stars because we all found it too hot for comfort, and it was often hard to hear the words (even though the sound was loud enough).
Nice playhouse, cozy environment, nice to have parking near and free after 6pm
Went to see Jack and been stalk great show saw Aladdin last year was amazing , always clean
We are so lucky to have our own Playhouse. A must visit, if you've never been. Long may it continue to be a local success.
A fantastic pantomime performance Jack and the Beanstalk at Salisbury Play House. The cast and crew should feel extremely proud. Thank you.
Jack and the Beanstalk staged here was just fantastic - what else do you want from a PLayhouse?
Friendly staff, spacious lobby, excellent productions and award winning Panto every year!
Amazing panto as always... Who needs major named stars when the whole cast are stars!!
Great little venue. Friendly staff and atmosphere, also the bar is very reasonably priced. Would recommend to both families and singles.
Fabulous panto last night, hilarious dame as usual - we all laughed til it hurt, from age 7 to 85! Excellent cast, including the dancers, all so professional and high class. We never consider other panto venues: this is first rate.
Lovely space. Good selection of drinks. Quiet areas
It's a lovely theatre - good seats with good views. Refreshments are good too!
Wonderful theatre that strives to put on a variety of productions
Great place, clean, easy parking near by, friendly staff, theatre is nicely set out
Love this little theatre. Lovely hospitality and a good variety of shows
Comfortable theatre. Pretty much all seats are good as the seating is well spaced and all have good view of stage. Plenty on offer for all tastes and ages. Good bar, reasonable prices, and option of pre ordering drinks for interval. Nice ice cream on offer. Central car park just behind, free for evening performances.
Very short of leg room in the theatre, like being on a plane!
We've seen some good shows at this theatre. Parking is usually reasonably easy and there are good shops, pubs and places to eat nearby
Wonderful selection of performances and reasonable prices
Wide aisles, comfy seats, good parking and a good view of the stage. What's not to like.
A nice theatre. We had seats with a good view and I doubt there were many seats that would have a restricted view. The seats were comfortable. Only comment would be that each row is complete without a break in the middle which is a pain if you are central. Did not have any refreshments but looks as if you can get some form of food.
watched beauty and the beast, was amazing, staff were all very friendly and helpful, parking is free after 3pm atm, and there is plenty of parking!
This theatre has a lovely open front area with a fully stocked bar and food available ...selection of hot meals available from 17.30 - 18.30 ..otherwise sandwiches. Parking at rear in the general car park ..free when I went due to council offer on Salisbury parking normally it would be minimum charge after 18.00 .theater lovely ...take care when booking seats at sides first section ..as dependent on play the view could be obscured by the side curtains ..for this performance people were moved for second half once this was highlighted to staff.
Comfortable seats. One of my top five theatres.
Very relaxing place to go for a tea and spend a time to cool down reading a book. Quiet and tidy. Always nice to go there.
Very nice small theatre. Visibility and sound excellent all over the auditorium. General ambiance very pleasant. Ample parking nearby which is free in the evening.
It's an amazing place whenever I got it great. Amazing for all ages
Pantomime was A1. Terrific quality and brilliantly entertaining for all ages. Congratulations to all concerned.
Excellent play 'Breaking the Code' by Hugh Whitemore and great venue.
Centrally located, next to car park, level access, friendly staff, bright decor, all good
I thoroughly enjoyed this musical the cast were very professional singers excellent. The stage held it's own with great vision and lighting. Well done you smashed it.break a leg.
Close to a car park.
Comfortable seats with leg room.
Bar.
Lovely provincial theatre with very high standards! No restaurant, but some snacks available with delicious ice-cream
I saw the musical "Moonfleet"last night, , brilliant cast, singing excellent. The sea and the storms so realistic. Read the book at school. A great evening out.
Lovely venue, lovely staff. Good acoustics (from where we were sitting). Only comment I would make is re mobility access. I had to walk to the far side of the building to get in the lift, then walk all the way back again once on the first floor. Then I needed to walk down about 10 steep steps to get to the front row. I think there is room for improvement. However, in every other respect, a great place and I will be returning.
This playhouse has the best-disabled facilities we have ever visited. The disabled area is like a private box with clear views of the stage.
