My friend has a claim with them. She sent copies of bills, they didn't want them. They wanted permission to get data from providers, so sent them that they are claiming the providers haven't gotten back with them. The providers of care are saying they haven't received any requests. So I'm not too thrilled so far

Simple, they suck. They pretend to be cost friendly but they re not, you can find many lower rates than theirs. Not only that, if you do make a claim they will give you a bare minimum estimate, if you get your own estimate they will argue it. Their online system has lots of glitches, unless you re enrolled in auto pay it s not even easy for you to pay and their customer service is not good. So again, all around, they suck. Don t waste your time or hard earned money with them.

I wish there was a 1/2 star option.

First of all, I take responsibility for NOT doing the research (I should have read the reviews on multiple outlets and platforms). Simply do the research on your own. I received an initial quote and my rate increased 2x without notice. Got into an accident, filed a claim, not only was the process slow and unresponsive, but I was treated very poorly and their communication is and was unprofessional.

because I don't have enough money for my $6 convenience fee, that they want to charge you to pay your bill.
No other way of paying unless you a check. Really, Convenience... what ever.

I had them for five yrs. Then I went somewhere else. Came back after a month and they lie about my due date for my bill. Two months later I paid 2 days after the date they told me and I was cancelled. Two of their reps lied and I got cancelled. Now they wont give me my original deposit back for the 1/3 of a year which I was only with for two months. THEY SUCK

ZERO STARS!!
I ve been a customer with safe auto since September,7th 2020. I was told to pay the bill on the 3rd notice, that s what I did, one month later. I paid on the 7th, of October. On the 13th of October another bill was drafted directly from my account, with no permission. I didn t save my card, nor did I give the go ahead for automatic bank drafting.

So, now I m stuck across country(family emergency) with the last of my money gone.

I ve called and called, finally got a representative... she told me to take a photo of where it was drafted from my account, and send it in the given email.... it should take 2 days for a refund. I called back today( 2 days later).... it s not on record that that conversation ever happened. No refund is given, and I m still stuck, and money has been stolen!

The communication it terrible with this company! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

If giving no stars was possible i would do so. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company. I wrecked in August and and it s nearly November and they have yet to determine liability when I was rear ended.. if you ever wreck DO NOT go through safe auto .. it will be the worst decision of your life... I am actually not sure how or why they are still in business, it doesn t seem like they are doing anything but screwing around.

SafeAuto was having technical difficulties and didn't process my payment and I carry an SR22 bond and they never fixed it so now my license are suspended.please don't go thru them . Very unprofessional. When I received my letter about my license being suspended and called safe Auto they didn't care that they made a mistake and I had to start all over again

I know it s little cheaper than the other insurance company,but do your self a favor and stay away from this company, I got into a car accident and I was driving my dad car since I don t live with me parents I was not included in the policy. They denied our claim and had to pay damage out of pocket. What s the point of having a insurance if they don t cover the damage.

This is a BS company. The customer service representatives are incompetent. If you call 5 times you'll get 5 different answers. The monthly rates will fluctuate and no one can tell you why. This is a terrible company and should be closed down! I wanted to give them 0 stars but i had to at least give 1 star.

Somehow they signed my up to AutoPay. I didn't. It's something I would never do. THey argue with me about that. I've tried to remove it and it won't let me. It simply doesnt' work. Code had to be writen to do this. I've tried to have it corrected about a half dozen times. It never gets fixed, they never cal back. And if you press for customer service, you get someone with a thick accent. So I say I want a quote and I get someone that speaks perfect english. They are the cheapest I've found, But Trying to deal with them is a cluster ****.

Worst company ever the claim agent just got back to me 3 months later after my accident then lets me know due to accident my coverage rate will be bumped up even after the fact of that cause of an accident was due to an object being in the middle of the interstate I paid for all my parts through rock Auto because they where so thristy to get $500 dollars out of me for my deductible so that way I'd be charge a ridiculous amount through the repair shop later and not have everything fully covered sketchy insurance leave while you have the chance!

Do not inquire/purchase SafeAuto, the customer service is horrible! Purchased the insurance and found a better insurance provider (State Farm) . I called to cancel the policy and receive a refund, the employee informed me that their would be a cancellation fee of $40 plus, other miscellaneous fees which totaled to near $100 dollars. I called them within a hour of making the purchase.

This is by far the worst insurance company I have ever worked with. They really try to gain as much $$ (profits) as possible, while not perceiving the cost of safety of the individual. Most insurance companies are like that. However, based on the one's that I have worked with. Safe Auto is the worst. This insurance company should be closed down. They do not take into account the safety of the insured drivers and/or those affected by their insured driver. Disappointing and devastating.

Absolute WORST customer service of all time!!! You better hope you never get in an accident with someone who has Safe Auto because you will never get your car fixed. It has been over 2 months of trying to get in touch with someone to get my car fixed and they don't return phone calls or emails. They are so disorganized and offer ZERO help. Any other insurance company, my car would have been fixed within 2 weeks. You couldn't pay me to even pander the thought of going with Safe Auto for my personal insurance!

I've been dealing with Safe Auto insurance for almost 2 months now and they are a true night mare from hell..hell....with that being said I'm a paying customer as everyone else with auto insurance but they have made me feel like I'm the one who done something wrong. Safe Auto never answers the phone and have went as far as to send me a email stating that they have been unable to reach me. This is all a lie to stall for time and to make it seem like I'm being noncompliant with them which is why I'm about to get legal representation to deal with them. I prey that nobody ever gets insurance with this insurance company.

I've tried to pay my insurance since 7am on 5/15/20 and finally found a way to get it paided and yet still wont restart my insurance. This is absolutely crazy. Giving a reference number should work but safe auto wont do anything. I have to miss two days of work cause of this.

I was in an accident told it would be 2 days for my total loss adjust to contact me after several calls an messages left it to over two weeks for him to contact me and then to top it all off they said they contacted my bank on my loan and I called my bank and my bank says they have no record of them even calling I wouldn't even recommend this company to someone with a really bad driving record I'd tell them ur better off at one of the big names

They have to be one of the worst companies to deal with. Almost a week and not one adjuster has came to look at the vehicle. Supposedly sending a 3rd party person to take pictures. And wouldn't you know, they are over 30 min late. Can't get ahold of the adjuster that's assigned to the claim, and no one else will help. Told them that we were unsure of the safety of driving the vehicle, but that didn't seem to matter. Always pay the bill on time, not one claim till now, and they don't seem to care that they're about to loose a customer. At this rate, I will definitely NOT recommend them to anyone. Complete lack of appreciation or care.

Safe Auto is the absolute worse insurance company I ve ever done business with. My car was vandalized and their claims department was absolutely terrible. The communication is non existent. The employees laugh amongst each other in the background like you can t hear them. Non of the Rep are consistent with the information they give. I am completely dissatisfied with their customer service.

This is the worst car insurance anyone could ever have it s almost like getting car insurance from your nearest corner store. I have full coverage car insurance and I have filed a claim because a car hit my car while parked in my driveway and Safe Auto have all the information, pictures, and reports and still haven t did any thing and it s going on a month. They don t call you and update you on anything, you have to call them almost every day since it seems like they don t reach out to people and every time I call I get the same lines we are still working on it and or reviewing it. It s shouldn t take almost to come up with something and my claim is still in counting because they still haven t done anything. Like I said it s going on a month that I been filed this claim. I will never suggest anyone to use this company. You are better off going to Allstate, Progressive, Geico or some other great insurance company because Safe Auto isn t it.

My daughter was hit in July 2019 the guy left the scene, We have Safe auto insurance So my daughter made her claim had a adjuster he never called or emailed her and she kept calling and emailing she finally was tired of it and asked for a new adjuster so she received one. She is still getting the one around now their system is not working for them to send her a check to get her car fixed we are in August now and nothing has happened. She is very frustrated. So now they sent their IT department a email so they can work on the problem they told my daughter this last week and I called today and she said the same thing. How long is this going to take or what other excuse are they going to use. It's getting ridiculous.

My review is no different than any of the others. The WORST insurance company you could possibly go with. I am not even certain how they can legally get away with the lack of communication and responsiveness when a claim has been filed. I totaled out my car 28 days ago, at the time of writing this review. I have been told my car is a total loss, but can not get a copy of the settlement letter, nor a response from ANYONE! I called corporate, and would you believe that the whole department goes to lunch at the exact same time and no one can assist you? I asked the receptionist for a supervisor and was given what I presume a fake name, because the email address she gave me was undeliverable. Living in one of the largest cities in America, (Houston) they do not even have local adjusters who can look at your vehicle or assist you in any way. Most people can not get a new car until the one they have is paid for, or at the very least both the Total Loss Letter and the Gap claim have been filed. I don't know about everyone else, but I can not go for a month with no response and no results. Keep in mind, even though you have wrecked your car, and the insurance company has deemed it a total loss, you still have to make payments until the car has been paid for. Save yourself the stress and misery of dealing with this company. Pay the extra $20 a month, it is totally worth it!

We left safe auto to go with a cheaper company. With that being said, the day I called to cancel safe auto we were already insured with the other company bc the other company said to wait a week before cancelling bc of the sr22. They were totally unaware of what safe auto would do for the next 14 days. I was told by safe auto that bc there's an sr22 I had to wait 14 extra days for it to cancel. In the end, all I got back was $8 from the refund due to the extra 14 days. I was disappointed that they dragged it out, but it's the last they'll see from me!

Very dissatisfied with this car insurance company I canceled my policy June 6th 20/20 it is now September 22nd 20/20 and I still have not received my refund for $75 I have called numerous times I have called twice in the past 3 days and they're continuing to tell me I have to wait for accounting to get my refund from June 6th I am not understanding this I would not recommend Safe Auto for any reason for any coverage they are very unorganized and don't have customer service very unhappy customer

Absolutely the worst insurance company you could ever have. After my pregnant wife got rear-ended on the highway what she was obviously found not at fault. We filed a claim with our insurance company Safe Auto. They deemed the car a total loss and tried to give us half of what the car was worth. After arguing with them for a few months and providing additional paperwork stating that our car was worth way more then what they were trying to give us. We finally got them to come up a little bit on the price. It has been 4 months and they still not have applied a single payment to the total loss . Also threw out the duration they have not provided a penny for rental car reimbursement or any help whatsoever. If you decide to hire this insurance to company for your vehicles you might as well just not even have insurance.

I'm switching. I compared rates and you save more money with the other top three companys. These people are scams. Just want your money. Only way to get ahold of a US line is through the app. I highly recommend not doing business with these scams. Save your money and go elsewhere. Ive used Safe auto for my insurance on and off for 3 years now. They have always had the lowest rates for me. My only issues with them have always been with billing. They dont notify you enough if things change or if you return payments etc etc and then surprise you with higher payments due. This time was crazy. I had paid through a check and then added a dual payment on the phone because i knew we would be adding a 2nd car and the man quoted me around 200 to add it. So when i called back and added the car, he said the cost was covered as was some of my next bill from my payment. They NEVER contacted me to tell me the auto pay was returned OR WHY. They said there was a memo sent out but i never received it. And my rate went up almost 300$. Finally after 3 days i got ahold of them and a woman named Michelene helped me work it all out graciously. She was wonderful.

I will never recommend Safe Auto to any one at all . They are ridiculous they don't even give you a extension to pay your insurance. They need their money on day 29 it's terrible. They charge you a late fee of $15 if you pay on day 30 I will never use this insurance again .

I was involved in an accident on 6/22/2017. A girl who is insured by Safe Auto ran a stop sign and nearly totaled my car. It took them 5 days to get me a rental! To top it off, it took the first adjuster 4 days to return my first call from the week prior! Then they reassigned my claim to a different adjuster. After a week or so dealing with her, they reassigned my claim once again! Although he has been pleasant on the phone, he really hasn't accomplished anything and my friend who was with me in the accident sustained some injuries as well, has been told it will be 1-2 weeks to review her claim before they settle... She has literally done everything for them in hopes of having this settled quickly due to the fact that she has lost wages and has bills to pay! We both missed 1-3 weeks of work and haven't been compensated for anything! I finally had to get my agent involved to get the ball rolling. If it hadn't been for them, my car would still be where they towed it originally. My advice to anyone who is considering getting insurance with this company or having to deal with them on the other side, do your own research and legwork because that's the only way you will get anything accomplished!!!! Don't let their good phone manners deceive you

I have been a Safe Auto Customer for over a year and I haven't had problems until now. This month my state was declared a state of national emergency due to severe flooding and tornado damage. In light of this, and unaware to me, Safe Auto gave a "weather extension" for the payment. I just wait for my monthly bill in my email. It usually comes by the 8th. This month I got it on the 16th, but due to the "weather extension," they are charging me DOUBLE!! I called customer service and was told due to the extension, which again, I never asked for, they are asking that I pay for June and July. I told him I can't make a double payment. He is trying to get it fixed for me, but I am furious!! Why would they expect people who have been through severe weather to actually have extra money, to pay two months worth of bills just because they gave a one-week extension?? This is not acceptable and because of this, I am shopping for a new insurance company.

Customer as of April 15, 2017 : I needed liability for now but in 6 months I will go with Geico for a few dollars more. Customer Service is sub par. Customer service is outsourced to Mexico. Customer Service who is outsourced to Mexico, are difficult to understand. Talking to anyone at Safe Auto makes you feel like you are not a valued customer. Responses were distant and they were quick to want to end the call. I felt like my time, money, questions, were just routine to them. I felt like I was just a number, not a name. Safe Auto is a unprofessional company to have insurance with. Only get this insurance if you have no choice at the moment.

One of their insured drivers hit my vehicle, they admitted fault, and it has been over 3 months and my vehicle still isn t fixed. They paid for my rental for a couple days then wouldn t cover it anymore while my vehicle was still being repaired. Also, I m having to hire an attorney to get the diminished valued per my vehicle now having accident associated with the vin. Very rude and very unprofessional! BEWARE and know what you re entitled to!!

I am having the worst experience with the company, as we speak. I'm almost afraid to write this review, thinking that they might retaliate in some way. The app that they send you to take pictures with doesn't work, then they set you up with an adjuster that doesn't show up. I've been dealing with this since Monday 8.20.18 pretty much still sitting in the same position that I was on Sunday, the day of my accident. Was basically told by Britton Wilder, a Safe Auto employee, that they don't like to do a certain task, because it cost too much money. As if they aren't getting their money, every month, on time. Then there's the company that they do business with, OnSource, they are no better, they set the appointment up to come out, between a certain time, then they send a confirmation text and then, they do not show up, no call, no nothing. I called and spoke with a supervisor from OnSource and was told that she had to check to see why the person did not show up and she would call back, almost 2 hours later and still haven't heard from her. Had to call Safe Auto back, was once again transferred, the guy picked phone up, put me on hold without word, left me on hold and never came back to the phone. At this point, I am literally still waiting. DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER use Safe Auto, EVER.

Dang! Just got an insurance policy with you guys and my first peice of mail is in all bold 'NOTICE OF CANCELATION'. So I called to see what this meant and was told that this was a freindly reminder of the bill is due? Calm down SafeAuto...some people do infact pay their bills. Bad first impression! Guess I will know what kind of service to expect with these guys. Hey if I keep my expectations low I won't be disappointed right?
