A fast possibility to get up allalinhorn, there's a station in the middle of the metro Alpine that puts you on the middle of the glacier. But be aware that if you take that station, you have to ask for it, and it's one way.

Did not go further up than Felskinn but it's a great way to get right up to the mountains (july 2017). Spectacular views and the hiking routes, summer skiing or attempt to reach the summit of Allalinhorn are all here. Restaurant at Felskinn and all the way up top is the Icepavillion and summer ski area.

A quite surprising (in a negative sense) experience in Switzerland for the first time ever, I have to add...I bought a multiple day pass at Saat Fee and, due to bad weather, the lifts were closed today. I naturally assumed that I would then either get reimbursed for today or just get a ticket for another occasion; however, this was not the case. I was told that I should have bought a special insurance which no one has told me about???!!! Why so COMPLICATED?! :(((

Why has the snow report and the webcams been tracked so badly since weeks December 17 / until mid-January 18? I've been coming to Saas Almagell for years, but the information is getting worse and worse
Ps. Nothing against the holiday resort Saas Almagell and the ski area.

The very nice area deserves a better track. Most of the assets have been depreciated for decades and are in appropriate condition. Thus, there is probably no great pressure to make sales. Even in the absolute high season, only a small part is open. In bad weather, and this means no extreme weather is just complete and made the whole day. I do not know that from other ski resorts.

The panorama is my highlight. The slopes are well groomed and easy to intermediate. The lifts are partly already a bit old. The low-light prices are: CHF 75 plus CHF 5 for the keycard that can not be returned for a deposit. That's a bad price-performance ratio even for Swiss standards.

Since the winter card opening of the ski area is more of a chance.
Time the weather is too bad, even too much wind, other times not enough snow.
The lifts close 5 minutes before the final ascent although enough crowds there.

At 15:55 the anchor lift Egginerjoch has stopped although we have already entered.

I was there one week ago, and for the temperature conditions at the ground, the glacier was impressive! Also, the rotating restaurant where you can eat and admire the panorama is worth it. I have mainly only seen race skiers training in the morning, and the slopes are almost perfect for that. I would not recommend it to beginners at this time (later as soon as more slopes are open it will be okay), because they would annoy the others on the less number of slopes open but for good skiers the slope conditions are perfect, and I would even say that those 5 open slopes were better than the ones at Zermatt. But if you are looking for buying a season pass mainly for freeriding or off the list, then I would recommend you to take a look at Andermatt and Engelberg, as soon as they open in winter they are one of the best ones for deep snow in Switzerland. Hope I could help you out with this!

Expensive for day trippers and often not so friendly staff, snow park is neglected by the day and geshaped only every 24 hours. From November to February a lot of shade, but over 3000m always good snow. Valley descent usually until the spring. Crowds are distributed very well, even in the high season hardly waiting times.

The ski lifts in this resort are old and simply bad. No place to sit and relax your legs just for a moment. You are standing in your ski boots 2 hours just to buy a ticket and then you need an hour maybe more to achieve the highest point with the ski lifts. My recommendation:go to Zermatt (Matterhorn ski paradise).

Unfortunately, the ski resort has overslept the last 30 years regarding the expansion of the infrastructure. There are only two chairlifts, the rest are all drag lifts or old gondolas.
All other ski resorts can do that better.
A pity, because Saas-Fee is snow sure and has a wonderful panorama.

Except mask, they isn't any covid concept. Be prepared for the contamination.

The 85.- are way too much for what you get there. Between the parking lot and the summit of the funicular the travel time was 1h20min. Gondolas, funicular and skilifts are from an other age, slow and uncomfortable. For this price, you can expect better and modern lifts.

For the price of CHF95 (= 90, =) for a return ticket where you can only use one ski lift next to the Bergbahn you can expect a lot more comfort than to be packed in a barrel like pegs in a barrel. small alpine metrotje, FOEI three-yard.

Saas-Fee was once ...

Saas-Fee was once ...

Totally outdated lifts. Lifts partly forever long and very slow, still many platter lifts (!), Hardly any chairlifts, certainly not with acceleration and hood in snowfall. A lot of gondolas with long waiting periods, so skis on and skis off all the time. Sometimes you go with the skis on your back through long tunnels, so overall a bit strange. Suitable for children only as beginners down in the valley, rather something for older nostalgics who want to admire the mountains. If you really want to ski, you should go to Verbier, 3 Vallees, Davos, Lech, Ischgl, there are a lot of alternatives. Ski area is simply outdated and very small. You drive the whole area in max. 2 hours from.
Ski lessons only until 1 o'clock noon for children and teenagers, who has come up with this please? Usually also courses in the afternoon? Of yesterday...
Prices where you look utopian high (skis / ski pass / hotel / food).

Ski area also extremely vulnerable to wind and snow. Lift facilities are closed all the time, the prices of the lift tickets remain at top level, despite closed lifts. Nowadays you have to meet the customers more ... So Saas-Fee was once, has fallen out of time. In addition, the ski resort is extremely small (as at the Achensee). After 2 hours you are through ...
