It was an amazing ride! Regardless where you travel from, you will have to reach Visp. From there you have to catch bus 511 to Saas-Fee. In about 40 minutes you will reach the bus terminal in Saas-Fee and you can either catch a bus or walk to the funiculars. I did not go all the way to the summit but even from the place where I stayed at the views were simply without comparison. And the village is also very nice!

Well organized, clean and well maintained facilities, price is okay. Especially because you can use the citizen's pass part of the facilities for free. (at least in summer - as it is in winter, I do not know)

Wanted to go summer skiing for a morning. We had to cancel the ski day after two rides, because there were about three slopes available for normalos without World Cup ambitions. A lift did not work. The queuing at the lifts was chaotic as no one was in order, the trainers did not even stand and just squeezed themselves in the backyard. At the bottom of the track you were not informed about the high number of teams. Day tickets Price of 73.- for one person is out of proportion. Conclusion: 73.- Fri kicked out of the window, scratched skis and frustration for the day.

Absolutely not accommodating. Goods in short break 3 days. On the day of arrival we went by train to the Hohsaas. On the 2nd day it was rainy so we did not use the train. On the 3rd day, great weather, we wanted to use the railways in Saas Fee. To our astonishment our citizens pass (train ticket) was locked. As we learned then this is only valid for 2 days. Nevertheless, that was valid from 8.10-10.10. At the tourist office we were told that the card was only valid on the day of arrival or departure, even if we never used the card on the second day. You can not do anything. Full crazy. Many thanks. Never again Saas Valley.

Small but nice ski area (1 gondola and 2 ski lifts). Often sunnier than in Saas Fee and never waiting long. The glacier slopes are particularly good because they are particularly wide. Only the gastronomy is somewhat manageable.

3 day pass = evt. 3 day pass. In bad weather, the lifts can be closed and you lose the day. Except one concludes insurance. We were not even informed about that. For any other carrier, the service will be delayed. What if the airline provider said: We can not make the flight. Do you want to book a new one? The ski resort is small for the price and the infrastructure is outdated.

What a pity! There is everything to do: the facilities, the snow, the view, the ski lift staff and the trackers, competent and adorable.

Unfortunately, the management is catastrophic! The lifts are closed arbitrarily, and the distribution of forces is aberrant. It is to wonder if the Bergbahnen managers do not try to sink the station.

An example? This Saturday, December 15, opening of the restaurant Spielboden, managed again by the excellent team of Fletschorn - it would therefore seem logical to open the lifts that allow unsafe skiers, or pedestrians, to achieve. In any case, the ski-lift managers have decided not to exploit this very modern lift, but instead to use redundant facilities on the Morenia side. What a disaster! It is unlikely that such an incompetent team will still be in charge of installations that are critical to the station's survival.

For those who wonder where to go, Zermatt is not far ...

The facilities and the rest of the infrastructure ...

The facilities and the rest of the infrastructure had also had better days. Dangerous stumbling blocks in the form of a snow shovel which should secure a hole on the terrace in the restaurant of the intermediate station. The smack factor could also be remedied with a broom, cleaning rag and a little paint ... yes, and by the way, the cash desk Employees probably lacked the motivation today, that's the only way I can explain the "friendliness" in the morning.

The facilities are very outdated! The connections are not optimal. Eternal running through tunnels! There are hardly any chair lifts. The drag lifts are very slow! Saas Fee is a small and shady area. A BIG PLUS +++ are the snow conditions, they are excellent !!!
On the whole, however, I liked Saas Fee very much!

Saas-Fee

Saas-Fee

The slopes are well-groomed and nice to drive, except for the detail that you have to walk a lot from the station to the start of the slopes. The mountain railways are completely obsolete except for the new Spielboden lift and the funding capacities are not exactly high either, so you sometimes have to wait a long time. For catering there are several restaurants but unfortunately only a small picnic room, which is not great for families.

Price-performance ratio very weak, prefer to ski in Zermatt. Outdated trains, long travel times and long runs through tunnels, constant changing, hardly any chairlift. For me there is no reason to ski in Saas-Fee if Zermatt is just around the corner and the price is as good as the same. The ski area is at the bottom of the list for me.

Outdated lifts and cable cars, very inefficient organization (skis on/off, carrying and walking), lifts close randomly during the week, staff partially very unfriendly, food venues and offered dishes unattractive. Too expensive for what is offered. Upside: slopes are well groomed. Would not come back and not recommend Saas Fee to others. Rather go to Verbier (CH West) or Lenzerheide Arosa (CH South-East).

Basically a nice ski area, but with many outdated cable cars and unfortunately many ski lifts. In addition, one notices that there is no money left and is saved enormously: There are, for example, days when the WHOLE ski area is closed because of "wind" or other not really bad weather conditions. In addition, it is sometimes waited forever, until the whole gondola is mostly full, until you leave. The chairlift Morenia is often deliberately not operated at the maximum speed (only 5 minutes before closing time is faster, because you want to quickly finish work). With the WinterCard (season ticket) for 222-255 Fr. the whole thing is ok, but if I had to pay Fr. 75 for a day ticket, I would feel crazy. If you do not have a WinterCard or MagicPass you better go to Zermatt or the 4 Vallees.

Great ski area, with some tracks a bit getting old. In addition, one notices that the mountain railways were not planned and implemented as an overall concept, but rather have grown historically. Very good is the wide range of slopes. From the completely flat beginners hill to the steep black run, everything is included. There are also numerous yellow slopes. A special experience is the 8.5km long descent from Mittelallalin down to the valley station. The "Adrenalin Cup" offers many challenges and brings a great change into the ski week.

The way in which the lifts are constructed is, to put it mildly, not super convenient. From village to lift and from lift to piste means a lot of walking, actually at all gondolas (Alpin Express, Felskinn, MetroAlpin). There are almost no chair lifts in Saas Fee, it is a gondola or a drag. The good exception is the Morenia, which is a good and fast alternative to the AlpinExpress2.
