Ruffled Feathers Golf Club Review

If I could give no stars, I would. Food, atmosphere, and service were not good to say the least. However, all those issues can be traced back to management, or lack thereof. If management doesn't seem to care about presentation or its guests, than the employees will certainly reflect that attitude as well. The most egregious issue was lack of follow up by the management team for a major issue which happened during the reception. Not only was there no follow up, but it seemed like a game of pass the blame. Accidents and mistakes happen to the best of us, but its the lack of ownership which makes the lasting impression. In this case, it couldn't be worth it. I'd rather have a reception at taco bell in the future- the bathrooms would probably be cleaner.

This was the venue for my grandson's wedding at 6 pm. Weather was perfect and we created memories.

Love the design of this Pete Dye gem but this golf course has seen better days. Bunkers need help, greens beat up (players and crew do not repair ball marks), cart paths are marginal at best. The group that manages this golf course (Arcis) would benefit tremendously if they fixed this golf course because they could command higher greens fees.

Beautiful Golf course a unique design a bit hard but fun.

If you like a lot of water and have a decent game this is the place you want to be I know a little bit pricey in season but if you're a hacker you're probably better off not playing the course.

The staff was great and food was great as well. Just need to add more salad dressing on the salad. Other than that great experience.

Golfing: it was a very nice, beautiful course. Beware, it is very hard for moderate golfers, with water EVERYWHERE. Overall, good experience.

From someone primarily experienced with standard public courses, this is by far the best course I've ever played. Beautiful, challenging, and well-maintained.

Private, closed golf club and residential area. Great place for residents to play golf, work, and all else. Spike who presently works at Seven Lakes Golf Course in Fort Myers, Florida would enjoy working here at Ruffled Feathers.

My wife and I love living in Ruffled Feathers. That said no one could complain about todays bruch. We truly enjoyed ourselves and Jim .....our sever...was new. HE DID GREAT!!!

Beautiful banquet facility! Have attended several events there, including Mother's Day brunch, and have always been impressed.

Very challenging course with tight fairways and cluttered with HUGE bunkers.

This course is well worth the trip, considering we drove an hour to get there. They have done a great job at keeping the geese off the greens. A top 10 places to golf on the south side

Walked in to an extremely nice club house with over the top friendly and accommodating staff. Got into an electric cart ready for us and we're on are way. At least for my group playing 18 holes here, while it was well kept, it plays very difficult. I would say it is geared for a more experienced player. Water hazards and bunkers galore on every last hole. There were a few huge divots on the fairways that we're completely ludicrous and unplayable. There also were tire tracks from a Caterpillar 797F off a few feet from the bunkers as well. However, fun, challenging, and a joy to play.

This course was way over my skill level, beautiful course just way to difficult. I lost at least a dozen balls.

So pretty, and the food for a baby shower was outstanding. The wait staff was right on everything. The waitress over heard me saying I was allergic to the salad dressing, and without a word she was back with a different salad. I recommend this place over and over.

Very nice facility with large rooms for banquets and great food. Nice view from ballroom of golf course.

Course was absolutely pristine, will definitely be coming back next year for another round. Really have no complaints. Only good things, visit yourself.

Beautiful golf course community. This golf course is very well groomed and clean. The houses around it complement very well. If you ever have a chance to play here, Just do it.

The drinks were so watered down I questioned wether it contained alcohol. The food was decent enough for a buffet. I'm sure members get a much better menu and quality

Had a nice wedding shower there and the outside was very nice! Inside was very clean and gorgeous, but there were just small things that I noticed. There were small white spots (dust/dirt?) on the carpet, and a few left over decorations on the ceiling and it seemed very rushed at the end. But otherwise the food was amazing, wait staff was very attentive, and hopefully it went as smooth for us as it was for the maid of honor that planned it all.

I found Ruffled Feathers through various search engines and websites. My Husband and I were on a tighter budget but we wanted elegance, a good location, and a trusted venue. After looking at a variety of venues from halls with caterers to elaborate mansions, we went with Ruffled Feathers based on their package pricing and the very personalized attention we received. Kathy is so wonderful and was extremely helpful when we had to make a wedding date change due to a family medical issue. She worked with us on not only our costs, but what would be the best option to give us the most for our money.
We did start with a wedding coordinator that left, but we worked with Brianna for the last few months prior. She is really willing to go above and beyond to help make the day perfect. I appreciated that I could drop my centerpieces and decor off and they put them out. I really did not have to worry about much with respect to them. The package included our wedding cake through Orland Park Bakery and it was beautifully decorated to our specifications.
The food and service from our ceremony through the end of our reception was impeccable. Both Brianna and Kathy communicated and were responsive to our inquiries. I would highly recommend this venue for the beautiful backdrop, the value for what you receive, the quality of the food, and the invaluable service received.

The place is alright to have a party , food is ok. Definetely not great. I only gave 1 star because I have worked there , maybe if I had not they could get 2.5.. I have just seen the other side of Ruffled Feathers. They first of all have management that thinks are invincible and treat their workers very poorly. It is probably because all of the workers are mostly students in high school or early college. The way they push them to work for such a low wage is rediculous. Could say way more..but no room

This place is a shame. Great Pete Dye course. You cant play under 5 hours there ever... Tee times jammed 8 minutes apart.

The worst experience ever, do not recomend this place

My son had his wedding here in October . We could not have asked for a more perfect day. One of the main reasons he chose to have it here was because his wedding would be the only one that evening.The venue was absolutely gorgeous, the service we received was amazing, the food was outstanding. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Front nine was easy to see the holes. Back nine, not so forward. Would be nice to have information like Bittersweet golf club has on their card. Great condition.

Course is in great shape and always picturesque! Truly one of the more impressive courses in the area. The clubhouse offers some tasty food and a welcoming environment.

I had my wedding here and everything was perfect! The food was great! But the bridal suite to get dressed in was hot, I felt like I was in a movie everything was so perfect from the flowers to the setup,the outdoor gazebo and etc. I would recommend this venue to others! I still go here for breakfast from time to time!

Not only did I have my wedding here, but my business Midwest Marquees does a lot of business here as well. We get to see both sides of this company and we only have great things to say! Highly recommend this venue!

Nice course. I was there for an outing. Facility's were good too.

Went for a wedding. Very nice, food was really good. My favorite appetizer was the coconut chicken and I don't like coconut. Steak was cooked medium so that was good. My only real complaint was that the room was cold. That was probably in preparation for later when people were dancing. We had to leave after dinner so not sure how that worked.

I was here for a wedding lol the mc was lit af lol. My hands hurt from clapping so much.

Attended a wedding reception, beautiful golf course view from the hall, great service, and food.

Always a great day when you get to go to Ruffled Feathers. The course is fun and the views are beautiful. The staff is always helpful in the pro shop, or at the bar. Events are well done with the food coming out timely and delicious.

We recently had a reunion event here but the service was very poor and they did not hold up to the contract . We were promised the use of their terrace room in exchange for accommodating their error in an overlap in booking two events even though we had the signed contract with the time slot we wanted and the other client didn't. We ended up having our guests confined to the bar/restaurant for the first hour instead. We were not able to use the terrace room and in fact they had set it up for another event. I blame this on management on site at the time of the event. The 2 stars I gave was mainly for the taste of the food which was very good, but other than that, I would not book with them again.

The place was beautiful and the steff very helpful. I was able to get a box to take home the cake i was too full to eat.
