I am an architect in Florida whose client wished me to hire a specific roofing specialist. As such, the client had used Roof Spec before and suggested using them. In all fairness, I do have to say the work they did was very high quality. My issues with them come from both their excessive cost, and their terrible business practices.
They were extremely costly. The client agreed to pay their fee, but it should be noted that while their work was complete, it was no better than can be gotten from local companies. Their billing practices leave a lot to be desired. They somehow lost their final payment, and then a year later DEMANDED immediate payment. Their principal Dan Held, despite being told that payment would be sent, demanded immediate (overnight) payment. He was rude, unprofessional, and because of his behavior, despite the quality of their technician's work, I can only recommend against their use.
