Fine spot to see a band but the clubbing hard cap was an issue. I saw Phosphorescent here and the show was great. Nice enough venue, nothing special. They have a club after the show and there was a hard cap on the show length and we were ushered out unceremoniously, that it to say brutally, by the staff right after the show. Revenue maximization is great and all, but there was a coldness here that was something to behold. Venue is fine.

Nice and spacious venue. Not the safest venue since the bartenders give you an attitude about serving water, even when ordering drinks with a high tip rate. Definitely could care less people's health and safety.

Awesome place to see a show! I took a lot of photos so you can get the "vibe" of the concert venue called "the Bowery". It is upstairs and I think there is a dance-club below, I remember going there in the 90's-2000's and it was the "ROXY". There is no sign out front so if you park in the garage that is after the Wang & Shubert and walk directly across the street there is a bridal shop on the left and the Royale is the next door over. There was a level of stairs to go up and then there was a large 1st floor "dancefloor/standing room only" area, bars everywhere so no waiting for a drink, seating all around, coat check (super nice!), then when you go to the upper level there are intimate seating areas for groups of people that have direct eye-line to the show when it starts as well as banquettes, tables and couches. There are cool elements all over in an art deco theme with silver statues, mirrors, couches all over, as mentioned before a bar like every 20 feet (on the upper level as well). I was super impressed with the atmosphere because we only paid $20 bucks so i was picturing sticky floors, raggedy seating, if any and gross bathrooms as well as long lines at the bar but this place knows how to put on a show and do it RIGHT. All the people captured in the photos gave their consent to be on this website. If you are handicapped I'm not sure this is the place for you but you could call and check.

I've been not for the club, but for a concert thus everything was cleared out. There was only standing room on the lower level with the exception of one or two seats in the back. Up top where I happened to find myself had more seating. Honestly I've been to better venues, but it was okay. Drinks were pricey and they actually charged me a dollar more looking back at my statement a few days ago. They have the capability of having good lighting.

Security was fast and sort of lacking at the door for a concert. Checked purses only. On the inside everyone was respectful, security looked very attentive and walked around to make sure everyone was being safe and respectful. Decent enough sound system but the sound mixer felt like they dropped the ball at times since it was 70% drums 30% lyrics. Everything else was good though. Would go again.

This is definitely one of the best spots to get a table in Boston. The balcony section has a great view and even better privacy. It s a reasonable price in comparison to other clubs in Boston. Highly recommend heading over here but try and go through a promoter for some solid deals. Sometimes service can be bad and the hostesses don t really help out.

We went to the Royale for a private party organized in parallel to a Biotech Convention. For that reason I can t speak about the usual service and party ers, but about the venue. The layout is quite nice and practical, good access to the dance floors, great sound system and friendly staff. One downside is the lack of a roof top terrace or so to light a cigarette. If you want to have a smoke you need to leave and risk a line up. So be warned.
