Royal Windsor Racecourse Reviews

I never normally write reviews but our 1st time experience at this racecourse last night was unbelievable. There were two price options to enter and ok we went for the cheaper option in the silver ring but the facilities in there were absolutely appalling. It was basically an open picnic area which was unmown, the tables & benches were in need of repair and refurbishment. There was 1 chicken & chips van selling COLD food, There were only 2 bookmakers in there both of whom said that the racecourse management had neglected the silver ring area of the course & boy were they right !! There was a so-called carvery area which was closed & dilapidated, the doors, windows & facia boards to this building were falling to pieces & looked like they haven't seen a paintbrush for about 20 years. The bar was a complete mess, expensive & had very limited choice of beverages. The toilet was a disgusting portaloo !!! Other racecourses around the country that we attend still allow access to the parade ring even when paying the lesser entrance fee, but this place you couldn't see a thing. For a ' ROYAL' course we were expecting alot better, so the management of this racecourse seriously need to up their game & get this part of the course into a better state of repair !!!

A great day's racing followed by the Kaiser Chiefs concert. Brilliant!

Great venue with plenty of food options. Could have done with more seeing to watch the racing from.

I went here for the 5k Pretty Mudder run with mu colleagues and really enjoyed it. It was a great place to do it as a venue.

Great events from family to nights out can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages

Decent grade 2 or 3 (I think) local racecourse. Not in the Ascot/Newmarket class but small and cozy. Evening fixtures mostly. Monday nights usually. Only figure of eight course in the country. If you arrive by train at either Windsor stations I'd take the boat from the river the 5 or 10 minute cruise to the racecourse. Makes it a bit special on a good day.

Good for racegoers. Not so good for me as I'm not a gambler and just went because it was our works do.

What a great day out, get dressed up, bottle of bubbly and hopefully win some money...fingers crossed.
The grounds are very well looked after and the hospitality is always first class

Really fun day! Ive Never been before, it was family day aswell so there was some tribute acts Olly Murs and Little Mix.. and plenty of food and drinks with fun fare. Over all good day, out of 7 races, 6 of my horses came 1st

A small and friendly racecourse with good beer (Windsor and Eton Brewery) and great entertainment after the races.

Great venue for more than just races. Recently completed the palace to palace bike ride, with the Windsor racecourse acting as the finish line.

Located very close to Windsor castle, the racecourse acted as the perfect finish line. With a nice flat approach, it was more than welcomed after riding 90 miles before hand.

Could do with more parking spaces

It's just a rip off if you go here for anything other then a charity event. It has other events and all are costly. A burgers with cost you up would of 7 pound and very low quality.

The view are not great for the racing also if you are on the flat. The grandstand is better but small.

It's a scruffy racecourse now - needs a bit of work

Vusit to Christmas Fair, really lovely plenty of parking well organised. Lunch in the restaurant over looking racecourse. Food was outstanding and plentiful. Will visit again next year.

Nice course. Good location. Not too crowded despite being a free race day.
How on earth do you run out of milk for tea though???

No seats available still in storage 81 years old and had stand for nearly 5 hours

We went on a Monday night. Great fun. You don't have to know anything about horses or racing to join in. Really well run with live bands after the racing and food and bars galore...if you like that kind of thing

Very slow to get in and x3's slower to get out. I think we sat still 40 mins in car park to exit and fireworks was ok but quite short relatively. My family wont be back.

Great racetrack, small and up close with all that's going on.

Great little course, would recommend getting club tickets.

Venue was great and had lots fun. However, leaving took ages and the staff seemed frustrated and unsure on how to exit that many cars. Tool a long time to leave.

Visited for the Christmas Market. Very disappointed, just a normal market with Christmassy music playing. Save the admission charge and go to Winchester christmas Market instead, it's far better and free.

If you like horse racing and music after horse racing it's a nice place where the track is by the river

Beautiful racecourse. Awful staff and ridiculous priced food and drink.

Says there's a car boot every Sunday but it's a lie. Almost never on

Overall a good experience. Went on family day.
System for picking up tickets was a little unclear but there were lots of people on hand to guide you in the right direction. Queues for the funfair were very long. Gave up after 45mins in the queue for a pony ride. With half an hour between each race, it was not possible to enjoy both.

Lovely course. Facilities are nice for a small course. If the prize money was more I could see this being one of the great courses. I love the setting and it's unique riverside location. We love to come racing at Windsor.

Went saturday night for the bank holiday meeting which we have attended now for many years which was always a great night but the greedy management have ruined it by selling far to many tickets than the racecourse can cope with, queues everywhere, having to miss the race just for getting a beer or placing a bet or maybe 2races for a call of nature ! Please clerk of the course see sense & sort this chaos out before next years meeting, we even had less queuing time on the m25 on way home !!

great evenings entertainment helps if you back a few winners

Went to a special event with my husband. Could do with more signage from main roads towards racecourse. The parking was very well organised. The set up was great and organised. Enjoyed watching the racing. Had a great day out. It was my first trip to Royal Windsor Races.

Tired, run down and massively over priced for food and drinks. One of the poorest courses in UK.

Was scammed, came for a family fun ice cream festival, paid 38 quid to get into a funfair with nothing the kids could go on. Tried to get a refund 5 mins after going in to be told tickets are non refundable. Disgusting

Some work to do on the infrastructure side of things to make this a nice place to go. Walking routes to car parks, car parks themselves, some outdoor shelter areas etc

Took our don on 5th November to watch the fireworks, parking was a little crazy but overall experience was good

Love the fact you can get the river boat to the venue, lovely on summer nights.

Great day out at the races and then we watched/danced when Madness came on after the races. Great fun Great food and plenty of drinks. Great day had by all.

Went for the Christmas party events they help over the festive period, excellent facilities would recommend

And they don't Rip you off

The bar is poorly staffed. Not the fault of the teenagers there but the management cutting costs. Poor training and oversight. Ruined our day.

Well worth the visit.

If like me you like to try most things at least once, you'll love Windsor Race Course!

I'm originally from Portugal and it was amazing to visit this place and bet on the horses, many characters around that look like they've just come out of some British movie, just like old times!

The food facilities could be better organised, but then ... you really there is to watch the horses.

It is absolutely great!!
