Very nice hotel, and in a fantastic location- right on Bourbon, but doesn't feel like it when you're inside it! Only small subtraction was it is quite pricey for what you get, probably related to the prime location...

What a perfect place to stay on Bourbon street! My husband's conference is being held here, and I'm enjoying the ambiance.
Our (ADA) room is nice and quiet, but all of the noise and fun of Bourbon street is a short elevator ride away.
The hotel has several eating and drinking venues. We've only tried two so far - Le Booze, which specializes in bourbon drinks, and Pj's coffee shop. By the end of the conference, I'm sure we'll try Revolution restaurant, the Jazz venue and the Oyster bar.

Great hotel, great staff! The valet service is about the nicest and quickest you'll find anywhere. I'm staying here a month (in town for work) and the only negative so far is that the Jazz club is a little loud if you need get to sleep at a normal time.

This runs on for a bit so I first wanna thank Jim, Jim the very model of a professional concierge... Jim was helpful... friendly and courteous. Jim's work made our fourth Halloween in the French Quarter our best. All four stars are on Jim... no... Jim makes it five.... Thanx...My initial review was unfair and misdirected... The Royal Sonesta was responsive to my complaints about the sonic torture that is the 5 gallon bucket drummers that played directly in front of the hotel, as responsive as anyone could be. At 8 pm the drumming ceased... as for the Royal Sonesta New Orleans... on our seven night stay I had to request housekeeping services on three occasions. On one occasion I asked the housekeeping staff in the hall to service our room, they noted my specific requests and then did nothing. Hours later, on our return to the hotel I contacted the desk having found nothing done... Take a look at the balcony doors, the rain on the fifth day of our visit leaked thru the closed doors and left soaked carpet about a foot into the room. Overall the first impression is a very nice facility but look at the "little" things... drawers that don't open... sink drains that won't stay closed....

This is a beautiful hotel. Some of the amenities or a bit older. It is right in the heart of the action and an easy walk to several sights and food places. I do want to say that the sides of the hotel that are on Bourbon Street is extremely loud and non stop action that can be heard in the room all night long. Other than that the staff are extremely welcoming and kind. I felt very comfortable and had a wonderful experience!

The hotel sits in the middle of Burbon street letting you have all the action at your fingertips. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. There is a awesome jazz bar on the property. A 24 hour coffee cafe which is definitely necessary after a night out on Burbon. There is plenty of Burbon but not enough street!]

Great location. Got a room with a balcony and although pricey, it was well worth it. It was fun to see the crowds and bands playing down the street. You won't get private views like these from other hotels.
Had read reviews about being too noisy, but you are on Bourbon street! Beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. We even got a bottle of champagne at check-in. Looking forward to our next trip back to this hotel.

One of the nicest places to stay downtown. Located in the heart of the action in the French Quarter although the hotel itself is an oasis to escape the madness. Clean, comfortable and plenty to do both in the hotel itself and within walking distance.

We had the pleasure of attending a private party in the Jazz Playhouse. In addition to the party, we stayed at the Royal Sonesta as hotel guests. The service at all levels was EXCEPTIONAL! The staff was so welcoming, helpful, attentive, and friendly. Obviously the Royal Sonesta has a PRIME French Quarter location, so they will always be busy, but to put in the extra effort despite this puts the Royal Sonesta above others.

Wow the rooms are small and dirty. Save your money and go 2 blocks down . Stayed here for 5 days and only 2 times was my room cleaned. The out side looks nice but the rooms look like a 3th world country

This hotel has the worst customer service I have ever experienced . Over the phone we were told things that were not true and no effort was made to fix the situation the gentlemen working the check in desk was so rude. Also we were left sitting in the lobby waiting to check in for 45 minutes after check in time. It was down right pathetic how we were treated at such a expensive. Also the rooms were very small nothing like the pictures and they were so hot it was awful. I would never recommend this hotel or stay here again.

The Royal Sonesta is a fine Bourbon St hotel with more than adequate rooms and a generally fine staff. RSH is more of a boutique brand and for such a large hotel as this that causes some issues from time to time. Also, avoid patio rooms based on noise.

Nice hotel, location is right on bourbon street. Wish we had known the streets were all torn up before we stayed there. Jackhammers start at 7 am. Room was clean but nothing special. Requested a balcony room expecting to be on bourbon street but was in the courtyard instead which worked out with all the street work going on. The first day they didn't makeup our room which we found out at 8 pm when we arrived back. They did bring new towels when requested and offered to makeup the room then but we passed. We valeted our rental car for 1 night which we were told would be $16 a night only to find out later it was $46 per night. This only came to light when they charged me for that 4 days after we left. They actually charged for 4 nights of parking but are reversing the extra days since we only had the rental car 1 night. There is so much more to see if won't bother to stay on bourbon street next time.

The stay here was very pleasant and the personal was very helpful. Check in was a breeze and any extra service was always offer. The balcony view was right on Bourbon Street so you party without being in the crowd. The inside has been renewed and looks great.

We went there to the Jazz Playhouse and it was absolutely incredible. The drinks were great. The food was great. The music was absolutely the highlight. The food was a bit overpriced, but that was it. Overall very pleased.

We came back because we had a nice experience here 2 years ago. The great location is right where you want to be and the friendly, helpful staff are what makes this place so great. Virgil, the bell captain, is a very nice guy. He got us booked on a really nice swamp tour that picked us up and dropped us off right from the hotel on a moment's notice.. Thanks, Virgil for all your help! Maybe it's the NOLA atmosphere or maybe it's the southern charm and hospitality but whatever, this hotel has it. It's stately, spotlessly clean, and elegant, but it's real and it's a place for real people like us.
