Great day out with plenty to see. Few places were closed when we went, but the orchid house was worth the queue

Great place, wonderful exotic plants, real friendly staff, clean toilets..
Love going to Kew. So relaxing and the staff is so nice. Went for the orchid festival and would definitely recommend! The gift shop is also amazing! My friend and I spent at least an hour in there.
The gardens are expansive and beautiful. There are a lot of things to see here and you can easily spend a whole day. Try to wear comfortable shoes, as a lot of walking will be involved.
Beautiful garden. Lots of.colors all around. Art installations by Dale Chihuly are a little eyesore - they just don't gel well and you suddenly realise the whole thing is man-made. Some of the great trees are truly magnificent. The Kew palace was closed for winter when I visited the garden - so, lookup the schedule and plan. This was a mistake on my part. Overall, a nice place if you are looking for quiet and solitude or if you have very young children with you.
Arrive early to get free parking on the green by the entrance. Very interesting for people interested in tropical plants and trees. The treetop walk was well worth doing, all in all an enjoyable day out.
Beautiful plant loved the balcony in the temperate house. My class absolutely loved it
Well maintained beautiful park and gardens in the middle of London. Not cheap but well worth it
Lovely relaxing time, FIY some shops don't take cash
Can't believe it's taken me 8 years of living in London to come out here. Was slightly disappointed to have to leave early due to Kew the Music being on (so check before you go) but we had the best of the afternoon. Wouldn't mind a slightly more detailed map, too, but otherwise great.
A glorious summer's day spent strolling through the excellently tended grounds of Kew gardens: the perfect COVID19 shielding antidote for my mother's birthday. We were a little disappointed that the usually splendid beds in front of the Palm House are currently not planted but the Great Broad Walk Borders were beautiful and even the Pagoda dragons have been impressively repainted. Expensive visit but worthwhile.
Absolutely one of top place for gardens and plants lovers.
Lots of collections, open space, rare plants.
However, if Kew is charging full price ticket GBP I believe 17,50, which is not a peanut price, plus you ask for donation each of the place possible, all places should be open. If you close 50% of glass houses and we can not see all plants, you should not charge full price.
If you boy a half of bread you pay less then for a full one., at least in most shops.
That was a bit of dissapointment.
Stunning gardens and monuments. It s the hidden gem of London. The glasshouses are a real experience. The tropical glasshouse feels like being in the middle of the jungle, the temperature and the humidity make you jump from England to The Amazon. And The tempered glasshouse is the definition of beauty. They also have quite a few activities for children. Definitely my new favourite place in London.
Went to their Christmas lights, bit slow to start but towards the end was enchanting. Would go again.
Plenty to see indoors and outdoors. Full day required to fully appreciate it all. Would recommend bringing a packed lunch if you don't fancy paying the high food and drink prices.
One of the most beautiful places on earth. At Kew nature and science co-exist in the most harmonious way. A place to visit over and over again!
Love plants love Kew. So much to see other than plants, flowers, and trees. A full day at least needed. Plenty of Cafe's, all good !
Obviously best on a fine day but even if pouring down there's lots of indoor interest.
Why have I never been here before. Went to see the Orchid display but will be back in summer to enjoy the gardens.
Nice day out in nature, but wouldn t go back again. Could do with much more sign posting as we were walking around in circles at one point.
The Gardens are an awesome day out whatever the season, and for all ages. Its big enough to get lost in, even when busy, and includes enough variety of garden, activity for kids and cafes to keep yourself occupied for a day. The food is somewhat hit and miss, and expensive, so suggest take a picnic.
Amazing place with its winding walks, sprawling gardens, the Japanese pagoda...so many lovely suprises at every turn!
The glass houses, orchids, cactus, tropical plants, such an astonishing array of flora!
Equally mind blowing are their memorials...Austrailian, Canada..; and their pavilions, Greek style temples..their cafes for hungry thirsty pangs...
We spent a whole day here and still didnt see the whole place!
It's a good place to spend weekends, just to have a nice stroll, a picnic, see all kinds of plants that are uncommon locally. It could be a good place for field trips. The park is really big and you could get lost if you don't bring the map with you. We spent 3 1/2 hours trying to get to all the sites. I really loved it, it would be best to go there on the months of june to mid august, when its not too cold. There are also somethings that they might improve on. Like giving an audio guided tour in the green houses, or even providing animal sounds that would be common to that terrain.. that would help guest imagine that they are being transported to another place and it'll really make you feel like you've been around the world. Kudos to the people working there, they are very kind and respectful. The place is well maintained. A good place to relax and learn.
Lovely tranquil place to enjoy if you don't have a garden.
Royal Botanic Gardens (aka Key Gardens) is one of the most significant places to visit in London. Situated in the south-west corner of the city, it s renowned for its greenhouses, a beehive installation, several species of plants originating from various parts of the world and for its temporary installations.
Beautiful botanic gardens - very large space - UNESCO recognized
Lovely full day plan, so many variety of flowers. It is a beautiful landscape, great food and many activities to do. Good for family/friends/couples
Shop with nice products
Also a heads up for the February/March's Orchid Festival & the Christmas exhibition - both stunning
Totally worth it
:)
A wonderful open space with a tremendous amount of trees, plants and flowers to see. The Victorian glasshouse is amazing.
Certainly a place that everyone should visit at least once, green fingered or not. Very impressive and well maintained, informative too. A whole day visit kind of place.
Lovely place to visit on your own, with friends and family. Plenty to do and see for every age. The nature and beautiful wildlife is the highlight of course but also manmade parts are to enjoy. Very well maintained. Also easy to get there by local buses and the Overground line
I am the world's biggest fan of Kew, if I could give it 6 stars.....I'd give it 7 ;)
Lovely garden and a good place to spend a day out ... romantic or familial
Absolutely remarkable gardens. The Hive was my favourite feature and is an amazing structure encompassing tranquil sounds and atmosphere within a wild flower meadow. There are hot houses with tropical plants also. We were there for 4 hours but couldn't see everything - I would happily have spent the whole day there.
Pretty basic, nothing special...expected a lot more.
Good measures of social distancing and it's always great to visit Kew anytime of the year.
Fantastic gardens and so much to see and do. 4 hours was not enough. The huge glasshouse were fascinating and the conservatory enormous. Absolutely loved the glass flowers exhibition and the tree top walkway. Will certainly be going again
Amazing gardens, great day out whether on your own, with friends or family. The membership is totally worth it if you would like to visit often like I do. There is a paid for car park or if you lucky there is parking around the green which is free. Toilets are clean and easily accessible. Can bring your own picnic and find somewhere nice to chill. The gardens are large enough it never feels busy once inside.
A large sprawling garden filled with flora from all parts of the world. You can spend the whole day here and still have places unvisited. Will definitely come back when more flowers are in bloom.
Beautiful, plenty to see. Expect to spend many hours there.
Absolutely a amazing experience and is very peaceful, I highly recommend people to view this lovely place
Just a wonderful space, full of interest, great architecture and amazing plants. The gift shop however, in an over-priced rip-off joint. So 4 rather than 5, so a solid recommend.
So many things to see and do made this an excellent place to visit. The only negative was the exorbitant food and drink prices...prepare to be fleeced!
A feast for the eyes and senses
Kew Gardens is a phenomenal place to enjoy the beautiful flora of the world. The place is huge and cannot even begin to be covered in one day. There are some of the worlds largest greenhouses containing plants from every tropical zone of the world. Kew houses the largest repository of seeds in the world as well. The outdoor gardens are laid out beautifully as well. It is a great place for the whole family. It is easy to get to by train from London.
It's par excellence. Extremely beautiful, extraordinarily informative. I would like to visit it frequently.
Love visiting the gardens and the seasonal activities.
Best botanical garden in the business. Good day out with friends and family. Well worth a visit in the spring or summer.
Great place to visit with family or couples to just meander round the grounds
Currently displaying the chihuly exhibit (which are beautiful blown glass sculptures!) this weekend. Do not under estimate this garden like we did! We thought that we could be done looking around within an hour or two and we ended up spending 5. The gardens and greenhouses are absolutely splendid. Moreover, so many activities and informative plaques helped us with finding out more about the plants.
This is such a large park! Don't forget snacks!!
Enjoyable place. The kids have lots of room to run around. The Orchid exhibition was packed, they could have limited the numbers coming in. It's pretty expensive for what it is but the hot houses are great when it's cold outside and it's worth it for the great research they do. The food and drink is a bit of a rip off so take a packed lunch.
The gardens are amazing for peope who love nature! In four hours I have managed to see aproximately half of it. Just make sure you plan your visit there in a sunny day soo you have enough time to walk thorough the hole space. Restaurant could use more umbrellas outside though for the rainy weather.
Lovely place with lots to see, could never see it all in one day so will definitely want to go again. Wouldn t recommend taking young children if you plan to actually look around and see things. Beautiful buildings, palaces, lakes and structures.
A lovely day out in beautiful surroundings. Shame about having to pay to go into the Pagoda otherwise loved the whole time.
This place is huge. Budget a whole day. Bring a picnic. The food tents are hot and stuffy. And crowded and expensive. Lots of great photo opps. Lots of completely different areas. A historical house and kitchens. A tree walk. Gorgeous gardens. Line to enter. Be prepared. Go for the parts you really want to see first before you lose it in the late afternoon heat and don't care anymore.
Perfect gardens with staff that cannot do enough for you. I will even put my head on the block and say, even better than Kew!
It was my first visit and what a surprise. So much to see that we'll be back to see what we missed.
Great place. So colourful! Great for a day or even few hours out. Highly recommended for photographers. If you like your flowers, plants or insects, it is a fantastic place. Few nice places to eat or have a coffee, with well stocked memorabilia shop. Will be back, many more times.
Beautiful flowers, love the Palm house, lovely for picnic
Amazing place. Loved it. Make sure you visit when the weather is nice .
It has lovely coffee shops aswell and gift shops too. You can literally spend your whole day here.
The way they have maintained these gardens is amazing.
It was different under social distancing rules, temperate and tropical houses and cafes closed, only take away food available, still a wonderful place.
They Glass Light Show is amazing. Beautiful and completely different. Much better than expected. I've not been in the day for years. So can't comment on plants but they used to be amazing also.
Visited twice since last year and can truly say it's worth the trip
The current collection of glass sculptures is a must see before they are gone at the end of the year. Visiting the gardens takes all day or even a couple of days to see all of the glass houses and specialist gardens. Bring a picnic as it gets busy.
Such a perfect place to visit after lockdown. The Temperate House is a treasure and then a walk through the Redwood tree area was beautiful
Beautiful.. we came in February, can't wait to revisit in Summer.
Great place to stroll along. Amazing architecture & great collection of flora. There is a mini aquarium underneath the Palm House.
Great pies from the cafe. If you are vegetarian, I would recommend the squash, beans, and cheese pie.
My young children enjoy Kew even though it's a good couple hour drive for us. My son requested to visit as an Easter present when he was just 4years old! We returned again last summer when he was 5 and my daughter had almost turned 3. He loves the carnivorous plants and she enjoys the open spaces and beauty of it all.
I think it would be 5 star if there was more visitor interaction, people or points of interest discussing the plants visible, their history and future for the passing audience. Also, more child friendly information on the important roles that flora and fauna play for each other and how it affects the lifescycle of all the world.
It's one thing to admire the beauty of the gardens but for young children to learn early on how everything has a place in this world, would be priceless sustainability!
A beautiful place in London ! Love the Cactus heaven !
My favourite green space in london. It is really big. I bought membership a week ago, and have been back nearly every day since. I'm still discovering beautiful segments I have not seen before. It goes without saying that the gardens are More
Wonderful. Entrance a little bit expensive. Take at least 5h to visit
Very calm and peaceful place. You also get to know and understand so many things about plants and nature in general. Absolutely worth the visit!
Great day out with many different things to explore from plants to vegetables and fruits. Large area meant that there was ample space to social distance during this pandemic. The paths and gardens were well looked after and most the areas were extremely picturesque. Definitely would recommend for anyone who appreciates plants and gardens. Majority of the greenhouses were open for viewing of more exotic and international plants and species. Great day out.
So colourful. That pal houses are crammed full of greenery from all over the world. Fantastic for photography especially the orchids.
Amazing place. Christmas lights are spectacular. Make sure you subscribe for their email and book when tickets are released as they get sold out pretty quickly.
Its very pretty if u love plants and gardening go here i so reccomend this place
One of the best gardens in the world full with exotic and rare plants from all over the world. Ideal place for picnic after long walk.
Kew gardens is amazing, an enormous park filled with exotic plants and tons of information about everything there. Huge greenhouses with plants from many different biomes. I'd highly recommend you visit this place!
The lights at Kew were simply outstanding. Very pretty. I did not expect to have so much enjoyment but I did. The only downside was some of the staff were rude and arrogant in the way they spoke.
Really lovely place to go .sooo big! Lots of out door seating .spaced out well.plants trees just lovely.had a really lovely day best part was spending time with my friend june.xx and a very big thankyou to ellie for giving me the ticket .had the best day .xxx
Amazing spectacular words cannot articulate the beauty that is presentee for beautiful pedestrians
Amazing gardens to explore. Came here for the orchid festival with a school group. We also had a tour led through the rainforest section of the gardens which had a wide variety of activities which our Year 7s loved!
Not for nothing is this a World Heritage Site. Stunning scented roses. Amazing Glass Sculptures by Artist Dale Chihuly.
Brilliant botanical garden within London city limits. It's home to many plants which isn't indigenous to the UK so has the signature greenhouses located around the gardens. Easily accessible by car or train, this is a must visit if you're More
Beautiful botanical gardens in London. So many different plant species! It s spread in a large area so be prepared for lots of walking.
