From 1942 to 1945 home to No.8 HQ Group Path Finder Force, the HQ in the later years of the war moved to the local town of Huntingdon, Castle Hill House.

I remember the Canberra plane flying from here and would be great to see some large planes using the runway again even if it was for training purposes as I enjoy plane spotting.

I'm glad at least one of the three camps I served at whilst in the R.A.F. is still going strong. Though R.A.F. Uxbridge is in my heart and unfortunately gone.
