My go to bike shop. The workers show love in the Brooklyn way, they're knowledgeable, and the shop has a good variety of product. Some really good mechanics on the service side.

Went into the shop to look at a new bike. My current bike(that I had purchased
from Roys) was being repaired. When I walked in, counter guy says " Oh yea, we are going to get your money). Not the sales greeting a customer wants to hear. Again, selling left overs at inflated prices. Took me forever to get my older bike repaired, reminded me of the old days when car repair shops just kept throwing parts at the problem and charging you. Been going there for man, many years, just a SIGN OF THE TIMES, I GUESS.

Great bike shop & customer service, very friendly environment, bought few bikes from them, every time I go there I walk out very satisfied. Highly recommend.

WHAT A FAKE OVER PRICED THIEVING SHOP. THEY SELL UNDESIRABLE THINGS AT A REGULAR PRICE AND ANYTHING DECENT IS OVER PRICED. YOU CAN GO ALMOST ANYWHERE AND GET A BETTER DEAL. AND DON'T TRY TO RETURN SOMETHING, THEN YOU WILL SEE HOW NASTY THEY REALLY ARE.

Not going to lie, at first I was skeptical since it was a last minute recommendation from a coworker, but it was nearby work. Decided to give this shop a shot over another I was going to go to since it seems they've been handling my type of bike more often. They've been standing since 1931! They ALWAYS have a line of customers. They care about your bike and your pocket. The mechanic Shawn is hands down the best Gave me several judgement-free options with easy to understand explanation. Pretty far from home but worth it! Now my bike rides like it's new!

Boris!!! Another great deal on my bike has me feeling Venge-ful in a Specialized way. Boris came thru in a matter of weeks with the new disc version. No haggle just a great price. The bike is everything he said it would be.

I purchased 3 bikes from this place! My first "real" bike was a hybrid. Brought in '01. Once I got into riding, I went back to get a road bike the following year. Alan (owner) made sure I was fitted correctly and patiently answered all my questions.

Trained & rode my first century on that road bike.

2 years later, I decided I wanted an steal bike for a more comfortable ride. After I did my research & shopped around, I went back to them. They had the largest selection and the best prices. Brought my steel road bike in '05. My odometer reads just a tad over 3,000 miles on that bike right now.

They are by far one of the best shop in the NYC area. They are very knowledgeable and carry a large selection of bikes. They have bikes anywhere from $300 to over $5,000 in their showroom.

Bought a brand new Cannondale for my 8yo daughter yesterday and she loves it. I know nothing about bicycles and the staff explained the differences between all the bikes her size, in detail and with patience, despite a line forming for service! And they fitted her for a proper helmet! Great price, too! Will be back to get baby and mommy bikes too!

I travel from New Jersey to Roy's Sheepshead Cycles in Brooklyn and pass several bike shops along the way. One reason is the incredible deals I have gotten on many bicycles which can't be beat by anyone else, and the other is Boris. Boris is a straight shooter and will give you the best possible price without playing any games which as a customer is something I appreciate. Ask for Boris and see the large selection of bicycles he has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

I heard good things about Roys so, I called & spoke to Boris. I wanted a specific bike, built to my specifications & Boris made it happen at a great price! I drove up from MD a few days later & was treated like a VIP! If you're looking for a good deal & great service, give them a call, you'll be glad you did.

My experience was great. They were busy and within 5 minutes of walking in I was approached by Keith. I had sent him an e-mail earlier in the week and remembered right away what I was looking for. My girlfriend expressed a preference for a different bike but he insisted that the bikes on sale were better quality for the price (about $150 off retail). He was quick, professional and made us feel comfortable with our purchase. I knew we'd be dropping a decent amount of money on extras but since we were purchasing a bike, everything was discounted. It was still around $200 bucks for security bolts for our seat and wheels with a kryptonite lock and helmet but it's NYC, you have to make the investment. I'm glad I made the trip, I'll recommend them to anyone who needs a new bike.

WE DEALT WITH BORIS. Unbelievable customer service. We dont know much about these bikes, he was willing to help us understand what we needed, shipped IMMEDIATELY and item was received the next day. Perfect 10/10 all around, nothing but good thingis to say. We will be shopping here for our next bike.

I had just bought a new Cannondale CAADX from these guys. I must say, these guys absolutely love bikes as much as their customers. Mechanics are knowledgeable and they seem to have a passion for their art. Definitely will be back soon.

Just purchased a 2019 specialized Tarmac pro from Roys. My first experience with this shop as I live on long Island. They had the exact bike and spec I wanted so i took a ride. It was well worth it. Boris made my purchase easy and enjoyable. We even added a few goodies to the cockpit and upgraded the brake rotors witj no issues. Their tech did a great job building the bike as i did a quick 25 miles earlier today and it performed flawlessly. The owner even did the final fit himself. Great experience. Well worth the drive. Thanks guys!

I bought a Specialized Mountain Bike off these chaps during the Corona-virus pandemic of 2020. I bought it from them on EBAY and it was literally the best experience. These guys really know their stuff. The bike was assembled and packaged excellently! Despite this the bike arrived with some damage to the handlebars due to roughness during shipping. Without hesitation Roy's Cycle sent a replacement set of handlebars. Will I buy another bike in the future? hell yes. Will I buy it from Roy's Sheepshead Cycle? You better believe it.

best bike shop ever, i bought a 2017 pk ripper and they hooked me up with good parts.

I brought my bike in today due to several broken spokes. The wheel needed to be replaced, and it was done very quickly and at a great price. My bike was fixed by Shawn who was personable, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. I have used Roys in the past also with great results. I will be back time and again for all my bike needs.

Came to change shimano claris 8 speed cassette (gears on the back wheel) from 11-34 to something smaller (11-26) . The mehanic in the store offered me SRAM 9 speed 11-23.... ammm ok. i was like isn't Sram and Shimano 2 different systems SRAM is not compatable with Simano and i have all Shimano components. I have 8 speed system, why are you giving me 9 speed cassette that won't fit?. Next they offered me some no brand (sunlitel) cheap chinese made cassette that will probably damage my bike components in the long run (poor quality). For some stupid reason i got it. Than they said that i needed a chain replacement. BUT Why? because its old and starched the mechanic replied . i was like REALlY? i got this bike brand new 2 month ago and now he is telling me that my chain is old and needs replacement. And their jokes.... i had to bring the bike 3 times for the gear adjustment because it didnt shift properly, the spanish guy was like its because the bike is black it doesnt shift, because it brand new, dirty, race bike.... get a negative review you joker. Dont go there, find some other shop .

Stopped by in here in early May to look for a road bike and ended up getting the Specialized Venge Pro. Fast forward a couple months later I decided to get another Specialized S-works Crux for gravel rides. Boris and the shop has been incredibly accommodating with the whole process and I love both my bikes! They have very competitive pricing and I would highly recommend a visit if you are considering getting a new bicycle!

From my first bike (a blue Ross) at the age of 4 to my newest at 48, a Specialized Roll Comp X1, Roy's is my go to for all my cycling needs. Boris, Keith and the whole crew are masters of the cycling arts. A decade ago, I had an injury that made cycling really stressful. I came in with my bike and spoke to Boris who suggested some changes to the handle bar and stem and for a few bucks, I got a few more years out of my bike. Sure, he could have suggested a whole new bike, but he didn't. He exceeded my expectations on that upgrade.

Last month I decided to treat myself and get a new bike. I walked in and Boris helped me out. He knew my previous history and walked me over to a Specialized. He knows me well. He picked a bike with all the upgrades I would eventually do and I didn't have to waste more money down the line when I wanted to add them on.

I cannot describe the how happy this bike has made me. Before I would struggle to do a 5-10 mile ride. Now, I jump on and do a 15-20 mile ride easily. In fact, it took me a month write this review because I've been riding it so much.

In a nutshell, if you want an awesome deal and a team that stands behind what they sell, head over to Roy's. They've been there over 45 years, so they must be doing something right!

After buying my first road bike from Roy's in 2005 and riding it in Boston for five years, I came back at the end of 2010 looking for an upgrade. The owner, Allen, sized me up after I told him I was looking for an entry/mid level road bike. After one look he told me I was "built like a gorilla - you're arms are too long and your legs are too short." He worked to find me a frame for my proportions, while respecting my price range. I absolutely fell in love with the Fuji SST 3.0 he sized for me, and after two test rides and a day to sleep on it I could not have been happier with the purchase.

Six years later I've pulled the bike out of storage after a move and wanted to share my extremely positive buying experience at Roy's.

Went in here today to buy a bike after a not so great experience at Bicycle Habitat in Park Slope. Nothing but great things to say about this place. The stock and selection of bikes is amazing-they have a bit of everything. The staff were all friendly, kind, and patient in answering my questions about sizes, model differences, hydraulics, disc brakes- etc- I will keep going back here. Great customer service !

Once I came in I saw 3 big rats in a corner where a bag of Cheetos was left. Then a lady charged me 3000$ for a small 2016 so cal flyer which was supposed to be 359$ on their website. And then on the counter there was large cockroaches crawling which then I left. UNBELIEVABLE

I've been coming here for a few years for fixing my bike. Usually they are ok, if they mess something up they usually fix it at no or little charge. This last time though really ticked me off. I've been riding my bike for 2 years, same route, few days a week. Few weeks ago a spoke broke.

Fine, happens. Went in, fixed it, $25 or something like that. I ride for 3 days, spoke breaks again (same route nothing changed). I go back the guy fixes at no extra charge. I ride for 3 days again (technically 2 and half since it broke on first half of the ride)... what the hell, the same spoke broke AGAIN after a few days? I come back and get charged full price 'dont ride on potholes' REALLY? REALLY GUY? I would think 'hey this guy is coming back a 3rd time for same spoke same problem, spokes don't break often, i probably did a shoddy job' would be the thought. Get the hell outta here making me pay the full price again.

Now to top it all off I take it out of my car to take it to my bike... he frigging punctured my tube!!! So not only did he charge me twice, he is now going to cost me extra in time and tube if i have to replace it.
Note: same guy fixed it all 3 times.

Time to figure out another repair place.

Edit: yup the tube is hosed (added picture). Thanks Roys bikes for taking money twice and then actually causing more damage.

By far the best bike store iv every been too. Staff are very accommodating and approachable. This is the only store i would go to from now on out. Look for Boris!

I came to fix a flat tire on my Specialized bicycle on Thursday, right at the time they open 10 a.m.
Three hours later, I am still waiting in line with 6 bicycles a front of me! Despicable! Don t come for repairs this place unless you want to waist 3-4 hours of your time to fix something which takes less than 10 minutes! Go to 65 Street and 23 Avenue instead!!!!

I have bought over 6 bikes from here, love the Customer service in the sales. But I recently bought a very expensive road bike here that iv been saving up for. When I first got it the shifting didnt work, then later that day my derailleur had some problems. I took it to service a couple times and finally they fixed it after 2 visits. Today I had a clicking problem from some where around my crank and bracket. I took it to service early in the morning where the line would be small, they "fixed" the problem and gave it back. The mechanic told me to take it around. I did just that the problem was still there. I came back and I told him that the problem is still there and he told me that he was not available right now. He said to look for another mechanic. So I waited and another mechanic came out, I asked if he was available he said no. But then a second later he came to me and asked what the problem was. I told him every thing from the mechanical problem to the mechanic telling me to wait for another mechanic. I was waiting for him to say okay and take my bike inside but he refused and took another guys bike for service instead. I was really dissatisfied, so I left. I love this store I have made friends here and have had very good learning experience with employees there. But this is not the first time I have walked away from service because they refused or wouldn't fix my bike completely.

I came in trying to buy drop handlebars, and one of the employees directed me to the maintenance area, where the handlebars were. When I found some handlebars that I liked, I asked one of the bike mechanics to help me get it. He told me to wait a moment while he finished up with something, which was fine. However, after he finished, he started having a conversation with all of the other mechanics and completely neglected me even after I tried to get his attention. After a few minutes, a different customer came in asking for a tune-up, and the same mechanic assisted him right away.

I took my sister to get her bike there and ended up buying my second specialized bicycle from these guys. It's always a pleasure going to there, top of the line sales and service experience. Thank you guys!

I had an amazing experience at Roy's. The people who work there know everything there is to know about bikes. They go above and beyond to meet expectations and truly care about their customers having the perfect bike. Al spent a long time with me finding the perfect fit.

Great shop with great service - took my father's old mountain bike in for a new cassette and wheel bearing and they took care of me right away. Super reasonable price for the repairs and the bike feels good as new!

I've probably bought 12 bikes from this place since my early Triathlon racing days. Love the staff especially the new generation owner Keith and his folks who built it up. I always get terrific respect and prices. Am always happy sending friends, students and lifeguards for purchases. Keep it up guys.

I have used Roys many many times previously, the experience was amazing. Today the service was so bad, the attitudes of the employees were as if" they were paying me to come to them" horrendous experience. I hope to find a new customer friendly bike shop.

Went in for simple items after looking at their online catalog. When I arrived I was being charged double and triple of what their online catalog said. Break pads that were $2.49 on their website were almost $10.
When I showed the prices online the lady said "those are online prices, here at the shop we have to pay for the mechanics" Dumbest excuse I've heard for trying to rip someone off and get caught. Bought a few other things but the lady kept asking me what the online price was FROM THEIR CATALOG.
It seems they charge whatever they please and don't have a clue about what their actual prices were listed as.
IF YOU GO HERE, VISIT THEIR ONLINE CATALOG AND DON'T GET RIPPED OFF.

Long established bike shop with large selection of bikes and parts. Very good service. Replaced a broken threaded water bottle holder bracket on my carbon frame today in minutes, The service is excellent and they know there business.

Fast shipping reasonable prices part was as described on Internet. I highly recommend this bike shop.

Just bought my road bike here (CAAD 13). Great experience overall especially since there are so many people always here waiting in line to either get repairs or buy something that they need. All the staff is friendly and willing to help whenever it's your turn so 5 stars for this review :)

Very good selection of bicycles and anything else you might need. Staff are not the friendliest, but you have to look at this place as a professional supply of goods who are more about products and knowledge rather than smiles on their faces. Most of their mechanics are good, leave them a few bucks and they will do even better job on your bicycle.

Came here to get a tube changed, simple job. Only thing that bugged me is the guy came out and called me by screaming out "wheelie wheelie wheelie" in a condescending mocking tone one that you use with a child. I was probably about 15 feet away. I can't say anything else about their services other than the tube change but I rather not get disrespected like when I go and get get my services done.

Very sketchy place. Got up charged $30 and the mechanic never told me why it went from $70 to $100.

Came in to check the place out. After spending some time in the shop I had to ask for help. The only people working were the guys putting bikes together. When the sales rep finally came to the floor to help me he was more interested on how much I was willing to spend instead of catering to what I told him I was looking for. He had the nerve to tell me he likes people that are straight to the point...wouldn t go back even if I really wanted to buy a 10,000$ bike.

Roy's has been around for as long as I can remember. I just got into biking again and got one of my kids hooked on it too. We came in to get his bike fixed and couple weeks back they fixed my Specialized. The guys in the service department work good and fast. They are very busy all the time in there but always greet people with a smile. I highly recommend Roys for bike repairs. I've never purchased a bike from them, so I can't speak on that behalf, but they seem like they have a good selection. When my kid is ready for his next bike, I will definitely come back to Roys.

Came by one day to fix my headset, i told one of the employees my headset was speaking. He took my bike out of my hands while i asked "how much would it cost", he walks off with my bike and i walked right behind him to ask him again but ignores me until he finds the problem. He said "it would cost you $25 for my to open the headset and another $15 for the piece your missing" after he opened it. I told him i dont have the piece and i would not like to buy it because i knew it was a ripoff. He wouldnt give my bike back until i paid the $40 and give him $3 tip. I would never recommend this bike shop, scamming people because they think im young.

This is my local bike shop, and they're selection of bikes and clothing is great. I've bought a very nice Gore jacket here at a good price. However the service isn't too good. Some mechanics are very nice and detailed but I had problems getting a tube changed here.. yep.
I got a flat tire not far from the shop, came in and got it changed. The next day I took my bike to Brooklyn college, and the same tire was flat after the bike was locked up all day. I went back to the shop and the mechanic said I needed new tape on the rim, changed the tape and tube. The bike at this point was at home for a few days. I take a look, same tire was deflated!! I took the tire off and found a small glass shard in it. So I wasted money on 3 tubes and tape, and was just too frustrated to go back and argue, how can someone screw this up!!! I normally would change a tube myself but just happened to be near the shop. This is the only shop near my house but if they can't change a tire right, how can I go here for a tune up or any other services.

The best bike shop I ve gone to... very professional and they offer reasonable / really good deals as compared to other shops. The shop has great selection of bikes and have great service for repair. Boris is the best salesman. I know the next time I need to buy something - this is where I d go. Thumbs up!

Excellent bike shop! The staff has gone beyond what was often expected of them. Most of my interactions for the past 3 years have been with mechanics, primarily Gerrald, Roman and Kenny. They are the best in NYC! Far beyond what is expected and unlike anything else. Extraordinary skill and attention to detail!

Mechanics: Gerrald, Kenny and Roman are excellent and have been exceptional! The owners: Allen and Keith create a long term relationship, it is not to sell a bike and get a customer off their hands. They have been able to set me up with everything that I have needed in the past 3 years as I continued to race thru cat 5,4 and now 1,2,3.
The price points are always very good and I have been able to get reasonable prices often as good as they would be online, free of shipping or wait.

As a road racer I strongly recommend this shop to everyone, especially fellow racers! Roy's has highly knowledge and professional staff!
