Roselle United Methodist Church: A Place of Worship, Community, and Service
Welcome to the online space of Roselle United Methodist Church! We are a vibrant and welcoming community of faith located in Roselle, Illinois. Our church is dedicated to serving God and our neighbors through worship, fellowship, education, and outreach. Whether you are a long-time member or a first-time visitor, we invite you to join us this Sunday for an inspiring worship service.
Our History
Roselle United Methodist Church has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. The first Methodist class was formed in Roselle in 1837 by Reverend Jesse Walker. In 1840, the first church building was erected on land donated by John Rosell (the town's founder) near what is now Main Street and Irving Park Road.
Over the years, our church has grown and evolved with the changing needs of our community. In 1955, we moved into our current location at 206 S Rush St., which has undergone several renovations since then to accommodate our growing congregation.
Our Beliefs
As a United Methodist Church, we believe in the power of God's grace to transform lives and communities. We affirm that all people are created in God's image and have inherent worth and dignity regardless of their race, gender identity or sexual orientation.
We also believe that faith without works is dead; therefore we strive to put our faith into action through various ministries such as feeding programs for those who are hungry or homeless shelters for those who need shelter from harsh weather conditions.
Our Worship Services
At Roselle United Methodist Church we offer two Sunday morning services: traditional at 9 am followed by contemporary at 11 am. Both services include music led by talented musicians from within our congregation as well as inspiring messages delivered by Pastor Scott Fielder.
In addition to Sunday worship services we also offer mid-week Bible studies where members can come together to study and discuss the Word of God.
Our Ministries
Roselle United Methodist Church is committed to serving our community through various ministries. We have a food pantry that provides groceries for those in need, a clothing closet that offers free clothing for those who cannot afford it, and a prayer ministry where members can request prayers for themselves or loved ones.
We also have several outreach programs such as our annual Christmas toy drive which provides toys for children in need during the holiday season. Additionally, we partner with other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity to build homes for families in need.
Our Youth Programs
At Roselle United Methodist Church we believe that youth are an important part of our church community. We offer Sunday school classes and youth group meetings where young people can learn about God's love and grow in their faith.
We also offer summer camps where kids can enjoy fun activities while learning about Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where young people can develop their spiritual gifts and talents.
