Small place but great selection and product diversity. Friendly staff and lots of fresh baked goods. Best general store in the area for sure!

Loads of niknaks for the cottage or home. Plenty of groceries and hardware. Great bakery.
It certainly is big! Excellent variety of country products from jams to fudge to maple syrup. Lots of gift items and a full grocery store. The bakery was pretty empty though.
Very kind staff. Beautiful store as well. Coming from a big city, this place felt like going back in time.
A proper general store with bits of everything. Clothing, home goods, hardware, groceries. Truly a one stop shop.
This is quite a store. Downdown Dorset is quite something. It is tiny and has a lot to offer. Stunning views, right around the hardware store, and the hardware store itself are worth visiting this town. If you can afford to buy a cucumber for $5.00, you are pretty well set and don't have to go to anywhere else, for anything. Inside you find a hardware corner, a Christmas corner (just in case...), isles with freezers and coolers, home made jams and preservatives, a bakery, fresh products, a deli counter, a souvenir department bigger than any Trading Post in the area, fresh produce, and the list goes on and on. If you dare walking up those stairs, you end up walking through a gallery of pictures for sale and a cloths boutique with the cute name "Red Onion". Cottage cloths, cottage jewelry, nighties, Santa clause pyjamas and a lot more of such fun awaits you there.
You really need a map for this store. It's easy to get lost. So, don't leave before you can be sure you have seen it all.
Thanks for the free coffee!
Something for everyone! A main attraction in the beautiful town of Dorset
I was lured by the posts about fresh corn but I waited too long. Drats! The staff are so friendly and eager to help. They make it a pleasure to shop.
I can see why it has been voted best general store, it is a crazy mix of three different businesses (home hardware, the red onion and the general store) into one location. You can get everything from groceries, to kitchen wares and outdoor wear or local pottery all in the same place. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and prices were more than reasonable. Will be back next year.
