Great gym, helpful staff and wide range of workout equipment.

Very clean gym. I have been a member here for many years and never had one issue. There is a staff member from a cleaning company in the evenings who's specially great. The washrooms are always so clean, it is impressive for the volume of people.

All staff is very helpful, friendly and they are doing a fantastic job managing the COVID phase.The gym can get busy at times (its because its good!) but you can always find something to do without feeling crowded.

New facility and machines, spacious and great environment. Thank you YMCA staff, I appreciate you!

Great experience, don't believe the whiny reviews below, Vancouver has a larger percentage of these types than most places I've lived around the world.

I worked here previously at the family development centre of this location.

I absolutely loved working for the YMCA. The values and what it does for the community at large aside from having the gym. Staff are super friendly, and the amount of training and knowledge that goes into the staff is amazing. We felt like a family and welcomed here.

In addition to all the credit that Robert Lee himself deserves, there s one more Robert who has to be recognized.

YMCA is a fantastic community, and staff like Robert C. make the wonderful experience even more enjoyable. High fives to the team for keeping Y safe for all of us!

Robert Lee YMCA... Well, it is a multi-level facility, with multiple separate areas for one to workout. Some of these rooms are empty (at least while I was there) and can afford you some privacy if you prefer that sort of thing. The weight room is larger than most of the other rec centres, including the Trevor Linden at the convention centre. The equipment is newer and every body part can be addressed comfortably.

Unfortunately, the change rooms and the pool are closed, probably due to covid, (I had to change in a small bathroom in the back somewhere). It is easy to get lost if you haven't been there before.

The other con I can comment on is the size of the public lockers. They're adequate but I ride a motorcycle and my helmet wouldn't fit :( so I had to carry around my helmet from station to station.

Price-wise I have no complaints. They're affordable and you do get a lot more than other local places.

Clean facility with friendly staff and wide range of training, Yoga, swimming, etc classes (Highly recommend spinning class on Mondays with Martin at 6:15pm). The reason I gave pretty low rank comparing to all awesome things is the facility is over-crowded. It's almost unusable in January/February and on Mondays specially if you want to do weight lifting. Although there is a large number of equipments, it's not easy to find one not being used. Many times you need to share them with other people.

I have always found the memberships with any YMCA to be the least fuss out of any gym in Canada. It s simple to suspend, cancel or change payment info and I don t mind paying a little premium for this service. When compared to other fitness facilities, it s rare to find such ease of use compared to other gyms that operate under the guise strictly for profit and not for the good and wellbeing of others.

While I didn t end up going through with membership application I found the staff to be super kind and accommodating, they answered my online membership form promptly.
