Incredibly rude staff. No help at all. If you have an incarcerated loved one, you would expect the location in which they are housed to at least provide some level of assistance or information and where to find it. I'd give them a negative star rating if able to. Pathetic excuse for a housing facility.
I visit my son once a week and the staff in the lobby treats the visitors like we are the criminals. Yes my son broke the law and has an addiction that keeps him in trouble but that should not mean that the visitors are treated like we are beneath the staff. I have been so disrespected and made felt less than a law abiding citizen. Every time the elderly lady is there she acts like we are a bother to her and I feel this is very degrading to the family members.. If she feels this way towards people then she should not work in a public job. I happen to have a more important job than she does dealing with the public everyday yet I do not disrespect anyone. I don't even disrespect her all tho I want to so bad but just because she acts the way she does doesn't mean I would. If her and the other associates there treat the public like they do us , I can only imagine how they treat the men and women who are actually behind the bars.
And 1 more concern, why isn't there a program in place that is as successful as the one in Chesterfield Co such as the HARP program ?? Don't you want these young men and women that are addicted to drugs stand a fighting chance once they are released ? And just because someone has you listed as an "enemy" they are not allowed to attend any of these so called programs you say you have in place.
PLEASE educate your lobby staff on how to treat the public, God forbid that their skelatons fall out of their own closet.
They shut me out from visitation for absolutely no reason. The staff is extremely rude. My fiance has had migraines everyday since hes been there and they have done absolutely nothing about. Even with the hundreds of request forms he put in for meds. He allergic to onions, but they keep giving him food with alot of onions in it. From March til now, he has lost 50lbs. Some female CO staff needs to be investigated for having sexual relations and bribery with inmates. The mistreatment of inmates is real in Riverside Regional and they needs to be investigated immediately!!!
I would like to forewarn anyone applying for position at this Jail....... Don't do it. There are multiple reasons why starting with the staff that you work side-by-side with is absolutely ridiculous and has no idea what they are doing on a day-to-day basis. As they say too many chiefs and not enough Indians.They're going to throw you in to and open Bay dorm room setting with over a 100 inmates and only you with nothing to protect yourself. Most of the time I could even get anyone to relieve me for a bathroom break . In the time frame a 14 months that I worked at this facility I saw multiple officers fired for bringing in drugs to inmates sleeping with inmates and 1 inmate Death. The training Academy that they send you to is 8 months down the road after you are hired. If for any reason that you decide that you don't want to stay working at this jail you have to pay them $10000 yes....10 thousand dollars for 8 week course for your time to work at the Academy plus the price of the Academy and your medical benefits that you paid out of your pay check if you do not pay them back they will garnish your wages legally. Also important documents and paperwork gets conveniently lost I applied for a Corporal position for training when they handed out Corporal status I was told mine never got turned in but I still trained the new employees. You work 12 hour shifts usually ends up being over 13 your drafted within 15 minute notice and you don't get to claim the over time they give you comp time which when you go to take it they won't allow you to take it because no one is there to cover the other positions or hours and if you don't use the comp time in expires. These issues are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to working at this facility please heed my warning and don't. I wish I had someone that was honest enough like this statement before I wasted 14 months of my life that I'll never get back.
That place is terrible the staff their don't do there jobs there understaffed and the food comes out of the staffs garbage disposal after being left in their for days on in
Was pregnant ...Took minths to get pregnant checks and trays...Was leaking fluid staff didnt come in to check for hours while i leaked fluid..refused to take me to hospital irnguve accurate care..I tild them multiplentimes i was high risk pregnancy and refused to take me to appts specialist after being told i had to go to them..Found out after leaving i had placenta accreta and bled out had to have transfusions and a hysterectomy due to improper care by this facility...Food is awful...Lockdown for days even when staff is avaulable theybrefuse to do their job.refuses girls pads and told them use a sock...Bugs in medical and unsanitary conditions..Please investigate...These people dont deserve the treatment they are getting even in jail..There was mold in food being served..people trying to commit suicide and nuthing done..
They need to check their guards sexual harassment is a major problem there. One guard hit on my husband while being in hospital for heart attack. Can we say the guards are a DESPRATE type of person with low IQ's. They are always on lock down.
This place will break you! You will be treated as you treat others regarding staff. Do what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do it I realize there are even worse places to go than this! Treat the staff nicely because the staff they do have do you want to keep otherwise you will be on lockdown 24 seven. RESPECT DIGNITY GOD.
Just glad I never have to spend another day locked down in this hole in the wall...
One by far one my favorite jails of all time!! Food is good portions sizes and, the diabetic meals are good..... I miss riverside! Now I will work there.. So Beware!!
