Riverfront is one of the nice place for hanging on with friends and family. You can find peace at some point. Many of the rides lilike cycling, boating and so on are available for all. It's also knows as pride of the Ahmadabad.

It has given a life to the "verge of extinction" river and along with it a fresh air for the Amdaavadis. One of the most successful project of GJ. It is difficult to find another better iconic place for the giant city. It is the place which would welcome u and never let u go disappointed !!!
The perfect intermediate between the Old and Vibrant ahmedabad and Urban and aesthetic ahmedabad. The Areas around it are one of the most happening in terms of economical growth too. The old heritage city, the magnifique stadium, the commercial cbd area, airport ( and seaport) all are located around this golden belt. A place about which a local can brag about and a must visit !

Well maintained riverfront. Vehicles shouldnt be allowed. Lack of food hawkers keeps the place clean but doesn't attract crowd

he one thing that amazes about this place is its young vibes and energy that keeps you going. It feels like you remain there forever and not go anywhere else ever.
While the river is broad and ever flowing, it is a true delight to walk on the brink of river and feel the goodness of the combo of nature and human artistic construction.
You can even hire a bicycle to explore the never ending paths along the river.
One thing is for sure, you Will never leave this place disappointed, but with full of energy.

It's a leisure, refreshing river bank sides public parks, jogging lane, bicycle track for locals & visitors. All seasons mornings & evenings activities zone for all age groups.

It's one of the best place at ahemadabad to sit calmly at the river side. The view is excellent and cycling is best.

The modern city of Ahmedabad was founded in 1411 along the east bank of the Sabarmati river. The river had been the important source of water, economic and recreational activities in past. Over the years, the city expanded and the river was neglected. The river became polluted due to flow of untreated sewage through storm water lines and dumping of industrial waste. The slum encroachment along the banks were prone to floods and had no infrastructure. The river became inaccessible for general public and cause of health hazards. So it was proposed to develop the bank of theriver to turn it into major urban asset.

The centrepiece of the Riverfront would have to be its two-level promenade. It provides an uninterrupted walkway for pedestrians that is a whopping 11.4 km long. The lower level of the promenade, which is accessible to the public at present, is close to the water level and is constructed in a way that serves cyclists and pedestrians alike, at the same time providing adequate access to water.

It also has a large number of amenities that include but are not limited to elevator access, regular seating arrangements for the public, public washrooms, boating facilities and a total of 31 Ghats constructed at regular intervals to ensure the smooth continuation of all traditional cultural activities involving the Sabarmati.

This is well planned riverfront providing almost 8km long river bank on both sides. Various places have garden and other activities like flower park, river crossing by rope etc.
You can enjoy cycle riding or walking on path. Can enjoy speed boat too. (Till8pm).
Best time to visit is early morning or at time of Sunset. Though crowd can be seen but you can get ample free place to seat on riverbank seats.

The major objectives of project are environment improvement, social infrastructure and sustainable development.
The average width of the river channel was 382 metres (1,253 ft) and the narrowest cross-section 330 metres (1,080 ft). It is uniformly narrowed to 263 metres (863 ft) without affecting its flood carrying capacity and the riverbed land is reclaimed on the both east and west banks to construct 11.25 km long riverfront. It can hold 470,000 cu ft/s (13,000 m3/s) without spillage. The total of 202.79 hectares of land is reclaimed. The reclaimed land is used for public as well as private development. More than 85% of the reclaimed land will be used for public infrastructure, recreational parks, sports facilities and gardens while nearly 14% will be used for commercial and residential purpose.

It improves environment by reducing erosion of the banks and flooding of low-lying areas of the city by the walls constructed on the both banks. The new integrated sewage and storm-water system intercepts 38 former sewage and industrial effluent discharge points and route it to sewage treatment plants south of Vasna Barrage.Thus it reduced the water pollution in the river. The water level in the river is retained through Vasna Barrage and the losing water is replenished by the Narmada Canal. It enabled the groundwater recharge and the recreational facilities like boating in the river.There are also plans to replenish river by treated sewage water.
