Sabarmati is one of the major rivers in the western region of India. It is a monsoon-fed river that originates in the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan and has basin areas in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The river after traversing a distance of 400km meets the Gulf of Cambay. It flows mostly through Gujarat state except in its initial length of 9.5km. Various tributaries, important amongst which are the Hamav, Guhai, Hathmati, Khari, Meshwo, Mazam, Watrak, Mohar and shedhi, meet the main river. Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat state and Ahmedabad are located on the banks of this river. There are several reservoirs on Sabarmati and its tributaries namely- Dharoi dam, Hathmati dam, Harnav dam, Guhai dam, Meshvo reservoir, Meshvo pick-up weir, Mazam dam and Watrak dam. The last four schemes are located on tributaries meeting the main river downstream of Ahmedabad. The Dharoi dam is located on the main river.

Very beautiful place to visit. You will feel calm while sitting around the natural beauty, Sabarmati Riverfront is a waterfront being developed along the banks of Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad. Enjoy doing cycling in the early morning and view of sunrise.

Good place but bogus entry system as no dslr is allowed here, they are asking charges for DSLR camera with family. If professional then I can understand but if I am visiting with family without tripod it's wrong practice.

When in Ahmedabad a must place to visit.This place has serene vibe and clean river water flowing by. A good place to enjoy your peace time and take a walk.
If you wish to do cycling on the Riverside you can rent bicycle there available on reasonable rate. So you can enjoy your ride with a mesmerising view.

Beautiful Garden Near the subhas Circle. Best for walking in morning and evening where you can get fresh. Parking facility is also available. Entry fees to enter in garden. Rides for children. Best place to capture photograph. Very piecefull environment in garden. You can seat near the Sabarmati River and enjoy the view of River and enjoy food.

Amazing place for evening walks. Though still under development there are many eateries in the area. You can also take your bicycles for a ride in the path just below the park. They have provide ample parking space for vehicles along the park. The view of the river Sabarmati from the park is breathtaking. But the river could've been a bit more cleaner.

The Sabarmati Riverfront Development (SRFD) Project, now under implementation, started in 1996 with a feasibility report and a concept plan. An innovative self-financing method was proposed to generate revenue and reduce the burden on the government. A separate company called the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation was created for execution of the project.

It is awesome. It is too long riverfront on bank of river sabarmati. It is very clean. It has different part like flower park, garden area, cycling,etc...

It has also party plot. We can do boating in River almost half an hour.

River is not clean. It has green water.

Nice place to walk. Also they have good arrangement for pinda visarjan. There are separate containers for flower waste whereas the rice balls can be emptied in the Sabarmati River.

Sabarmati Riverfront is a waterfront being developed along the banks of Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad, India. Proposed in the 1960s, the construction began in 2005. Since 2012, the waterfront is gradually opened to public as and when facilities are constructed and various facilities are actively under construction.

It was cool experience. Cycling by mybyk is a must if you go. be sure to be on the right side on river.

Very very good creation on the bank of river Sabarmati,now Sabarmati has water of Narmada river so all the 12 months,we find water in the river,so the walkway prepared so much looking extremely good.So many visitors come and see this.In Ahmedabad,now after children's amusement park,this is also very very nice looking.In past,in summer days,people find empty Sabarmati but now very very good water of Narmada.

Lovely place to make yourself calm. Must visit river front nearer to Ellisebridge to see the beautify of the bridge at night.

The essence is finished ....the walkway or the riverfront is good...but the condition of water has degraded over a period of time.

Riverfront is one of the recent time jewels in the historical city of Ahmedabad aka Karnavati. Built on the banks of sabarmati, it is under development and will turn out to be big attractions of upcoming time. Currently a flowerpark, gradens, walkways, adventure sports etc are functional and is a big entertainment spot for city people.
